We really enjoyed our stay in Houston and the accommodations/location were beyond our expectations. The home met our needs and we felt the host made sure to be available at a moment’s notice to answer questions/issues that we may have encountered. Which brings me to my only concern that our group experienced during out stay. Once we arrived at the destination, we noticed there was an adjoining guest home and were surprised to see another couple parading around the property that we were told would be exclusive to us for the entirety of the weekend. Upon checking in(Friday) we were told " by the way there is a couple staying in the guest house. They'll be checking out tomorrow(Saturday)"
Considering the fact that our group was comprised of four women, we were concerned about our safety in an unfamiliar city; that is why we chose this house and were pleased to have the space to ourselves alone. We noticed the male “tenant” of the guest house was lingering shirtless leering through the window in our direction as we utilize the pool area, which needless to say left us feeling uncomfortable.
Throughout the remainder of the weekend, it became obvious that we would be sharing our lodgings the entire time with the surprise guests. There were awkward moments on occasions when (more than once) the couple, not realizing we were nearby, would make comments about “when were they (us) leaving?” The unusual nature of the situation led us to investigate and discover that the mysterious couple were actually the owner with her husband pretending to not to be. We felt it was deceptive to list a property in such a manner to lead potential residents to believe that they would have sole use of the space in order to offer higher rates of stay.
