Chukka Cove Paradise

The house is incredibly clean and comfortable. Pauline is absolutely lovely, and tended to all of our needs. And Chukka Cove, which might me one of the loveliest spots on the entire North Coast is just spectacular. We'll be back!

Paradise

It was a dream location with the sound of the sea bringing a calm and relaxing feel to the stay. The surroundings were stunning, lots of birds and incredible plants. The sea was perfectly clear and the snorkelling was absolutely amazing. I just loved the views. The staff were incredible and really went out of their way to help. Anthony and Andrew were fantastic and between them took us to the bat cave which was magical, and other areas of interest, as well as to the nearby beach. Miss P was a fantastic cook and really helped us feel at home, nothing was too much trouble and she went out of her way to help us celebrate our daughters’ birthdays whilst we were out there. It’s the perfect base to explore the area and the most perfect place to relax. I can’t recommend it enough and would return in a heartbeat.

Lovely Villa

Very well maintained villa. The housekeeper, Pauline, was friendly, and her cooking was delicious. Would have liked to utilize the small beach area for the kids, but it wasn't conducive at the time. Lovely property, and the protected cove is perfect for more advanced swimmers. Would definitely recommend and repeat visit!!

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful the whole stay.

Our beds were so comfortable. The views were fantastic and the staff was out of thIs world. Ms. P is a great cook and has the best personality.

We love Chukka Cove!

The property is beautiful with stunning views of the ocean. Our housekeeper provided delicious meals and ensured that the villa was spotless. We plan to return next year.

Perfection

The house was exactly as advertised and the property was so fun we hardly left it (and we are typically adventurers!). Cliff jumping, snorkeling, Bat-cave, gorgeous swimming pool, sunsets, amazing food and incredible views. Why would we wander anywhere else! Our chef and housekeeper was a highlight of our trip with a smile that brightened up every room and delicious meal after meal.

Beautiful setting, but a little far from town for folks who like to go on excursions and dine out.

It was a good experience for being a first time visitor to Jamaica. We loved our villa and the beautifully manicured landscape. A package price for transportation would have been extremely helpful since it’s too far to walk anywhere.

65th Birthday Celebration & Girl’s Trip

Words can’t describe how beautiful this property is. I celebrated my 65th birthday with three of my friends and we had an amazing time. Pauline was the sweetest and a gourmet chef ! Tony was a great guide and showed us all the perks of the property !Andrew protected the grounds and made sure we felt safe at all times. Piepie was available for any needs and made sure to get us wherever we needed to be. The communication with the host was seamless . I will definitely be back again !

The backyard Ocean Scene was amazing. Ms Pauline was awesome with everything she accommodated us with. Her cooking was awesome we really appreciated her. As for groceries I think you guys set up she be arranged better.

Every bit true and amazing!

The SettleDown property is everything as described and more! The pictures are accurate and you are steps away from the ocean. The property is conveniently located on the north side of the island. We had so many options for excursions, landmarks, and places to go. There is security on the meticulous property and thanks to Ms P running things, it feels like a home away from home. Marc and Trish were great hosts and were very accommodating. We’d definitely come again!!

Amazing Family Trip

This accommodations were better then I ever imagined. The view, the quietness and the staff were amazing. Paulette was just so friendly. I looked forward to seeing her show up every morning just to see her big smile. Paulette is a fabulous cook! Every morning we watched the horses walk by our villa. We would feed them mangos. We felt very safe with Phillip walking around at night. We hope to make it back to Jamaica one day and if we do we will stay at villa 2!!

Nice Peaceful Stay

We spent a total of 10 days at the SettleDown villa and it did not disappoint. We were celebrating my wife's birthday and our anniversary so we wanted a nice location and this was it. The property is amazing and very peaceful. I want to give a special shout out to Mrs. Pauline who went above and beyond to make our stay a pleasant one! Her food preparation and attention to detail are unmatched! Our 12 month old daughter clung to her and felt comfortable which made the trip that much more enjoyable as it felt as if we were with family. Mrs. P was even instrumental in our daughter taking her first steps by herself and freely walking! Communication with the hosts was fairly easy and the response time was really good. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and can't wait to return for our next vacay!

secluded bliss

This beautiful villa is one of six on a cliff overlooking the gorgeous Caribbean Sea. There is path and ladder access to the water, a shared pool with high end loungers and a cute covered sitting area by the pool when you're wanting to look out at the water. We loved the ample well appointed outdoor covered living area with fans to keep the air moving. We spent all our time at the villa outside listening to the waves. Pauline took great care of us, served excellent Jamaican meals as we requested and came shopping with us to the local market in St Anne's Bay. This is my second visit to the villas at Chukka and I will be returning for sure.

Traveled with friends for a week. Location was perfect. We were the only people on the property for the entire week. The views from the home were magical. Mrs. P's cooking was perfection. She was a pleasure to be around and so helpful. Pool was warm and the ocean was even warmer. Anthony was so helpful with jumping off the cliffs. All staff you run into on the grounds are friendly and willing to go above and beyond. Our friends stayed next door and Mrs. P worked with the staff in the other house to ensure we were all able to eat together. if your looking to get away from it all this is the place you want to be.

To see the beautiful island and for convenience stay in Chukka villa#2 you shout rent a car. The villa is absolutely fantastic, amazing! The view from the terrace is that you will never forget! Paullet, housekeeper is polite and helps with everything. I strongly recommend to stay here! We traveled around all the island and the sea is the most beautiful in Chukka Cove. You will find everything you can need in the house. The kitchen is equipped with all the necessary tools. So if you want to have a comfortable stay you should stay in Chukka villa#2. Wifi, hot water is stable- I know it is important things.

Rest, Relaxation, Serenity!

This was an amazingly relaxing trip. We received clear communication in advance to prepare for our trip. Our driver, Pie Pie was professional. The Villa was as described and very clean which was an absolute priority. We ate and we rested. The bed was comfortable. Ms. P was amazing! She spoiled us with all the wonderful food she served us. Her wonderful cooking and conversation made our experience awesome. She prepared ox tails, curry goat, curry shrimp, rice and peas, shrimp quesadilla, fried snapper and more! Yummy! Andrew served as security and an excellent tour guide around the property. Martin gave us some shells from the ocean. The spa pool was amazing. The view and the sound of the ocean were phenomenal! I would definitely go back!

Simply put...paradise!!

OMG my family of 4 spent 8 days at the SettleDown Villa and it was beyond amazing. The property inside and out was immaculate. Pauline, the chef, cooked us so many authentic Jamaican meals we wanted to bring her home with us. Pipi, the driver, was dialed in to our every need and he knows EVERYONE, so when you want to do the usual tourist stuff, he knows the people to call to help expedite your adventure. Ask Pipi to show you 'another side of humanity' and maybe he'll take you to his fishing village like he did for us. Also, be sure to ask Tony to take you swimming with the bats!! Overall, 5 stars isn't a high enough rating what my family got out of our vacation. It would have been delightful either way, but Pauline, Pipi, Tony and the SettleDown Villa in general are WELL WORTH YOUR TIME AND MONEY!! We will most def be staying the next time we go!!

The ocean and cove are absolutely beautiful!

Each year we take a week long sibling trip and we allow one to choose the destination. This year was Jamaica. As none of us had been here before we wanted a true cultural experi ence and this was nothing less than that. Ms. Paulette was absolutely the best. She prepared local dishes daily that were better than what you could find in a restaurant. The driver Clarence and our security guard really took care of us and we always felt safe and secure. We took drives in the mountains to shopping locally, whatever we desired was just a call away. Waking up in the mornings and watching the horses gallop in front of the villa daily was a pleasure to the beautiful sunsets sitting on the beach. The atmosphere was very relaxing and we often spent much time on the patio fellowshiping and enjoying watching a cruise ship every now and again. If you need to unwind, detach and not feel like a tourist this is definitely the spot to choose.

3 Couples Vacation

We stayed at Settle Down for 10 glorious days. The home is beautiful and the view is the best of all the homes we have stayed in Jamaica. What made our stay over the top was Ms Pauline. Her cooking and attention to detail is top notch. We are a group that's in their 60's and spent a great deal at the home and on property. Andrew the security guy always made us feel very safe. We definitely will return. The one thing that has changed in Jamaica is the price of food. Be prepared to spend twice as much than in the US. We used the market the house recommended, but purchased the majority of the food from a market in town, which was cheaper. I have been coming to Jamaica for over 40 years and have watch the changes, but this home takes you back to the authentic Jamaica. Marc/Trish was easy to work with and answered emails quickly. You will not be disappointed with this property.

Beautiful Getaway

We had a great vacation in Jamaica at Villa 2 at Chukka Cove. There was only one other villa occupied while we were there which was nice. Our housekeeper Paulette took great care of the house and cooked some delicious meals. The little sandy beach was great for our 3 year old to dig in the sand and make sand castles. There was some glass that washed there and not all of it was soft sea-glass so we wore shoes and I did a sweep of the beach each time we went down. We spent a ton of time in the pool which was cleaned often and in great condition. We ate all of our meals at the table on the patio so we could enjoy the warm weather and watch the sea. All of the staff were responsive, friendly, and knowledgeable. The only complaint I have is that there was a leak in the roof directly above the master bed. I was woken up twice by water dripping onto my head which wasn't pleasant. If not for this leak I would probably give 5 stars, everything else was stellar.

Beautiful Views and Awesome People

Villa 2 was absolutely amazing! Paulette and everyone at Villa 2 wanted nothing but the best expierence for all guests! We relaxed the entire vacation. It was so nice to sit out on the patio and listen to the ocean or the horses galloping by at night. The landscaping was absolutely beautiful with the different flowers, tress and fruits all around. Also, with it being so hot it was nice to be able to retreat up to the room to enjoy the ac and still be able to take in the beautiful surroundings from the front sun room! The cove was such a beautiful little spot to hangout and get some sand in our toes. We loved the option of having the pool or going in the ocean especially since those waves can get a little rough in the ocean making it hard to swim. The LFA market was a blessing! Clarence took us out to dinner the one night we did go out and he was so great in explaining what we were passing and giving us pointers. This was our first time in Jamaica and we definitely plan on coming back to hopefully stay at Villa 1 or 2 again. We absolutely loved the staff, the vibes, and the wonderful hospitality! Thank you Mark, Trish and Janet for being so helpful when it came to booking and other questions!

The cliffs at Chukka Cove were used in the famous 1973 movie, Papillon starring Steve McQueen and Dustin Hoffman.
