“Live Like a Local... Whether You Want To or Not”If you’ve ever wanted to truly live like a local in Puerto Vallarta, this is your chance. You’ll do laundry several times because the unit comes with exactly two towels (none for the pool). The hike to the place is intense — steep, endless stairs. Only the young or very motivated will survive. The “charming” decor is pure Walmart chic: sagging particle board furniture and a shower accessorized with mold and vintage soap. You get one roll of toilet paper, two tiny water bottles, and the privilege of feeling thrifty. The rooftop pool? More kiddie tub than resort, with no bar or service. Just a view of the neighbor’s seven dogs (highlights of the stay, honestly). The “ocean view” exists somewhere beyond them if you squint hard enough. The front door lock was a daily puzzle the hosts insisted was “user error.” Their specialty is speedy replies with zero solutions. The final touch: being charged for a broken stove knob we never touched.Once we learned Naya Homes is run by ex-Uber execs, everything made sense. This place is an UberX experience at luxury prices. Two stars — one for location, one for the dogs.
