Escape to this cozy 3-bedroom, 2-bath pet-friendly mountain retreat with everything you need for a fun and relaxing getaway. Inside, enjoy a warm fireplace in the living room, a Foosball table, plenty of games, and an Xbox 360 for all-ages entertainment.
Step outside to take in the scenic WV mountain views from the large deck with a patio set and BBQ grill, or gather around the firepit to roast marshmallows under the stars. Guests also have access to fantastic community amenities, including hiking trails, tennis and basketball courts, and a tot-lot. From Memorial Day to Labor Day take advantage of the community swimming pool, hot tub and kiddy pool—perfect for summer fun.

good communication from the company renting the house. Nothing was ever responded through the vrbo app. And the company used 2 different emails so that was confusing. The house was nice but commnication was not good. Even tried calling number listed to contact host and never got an answer

Wonderful place

A little hard to find, so do not use your GPS as instructed! Once there, so easy to get in, a ramp for my niece who is wheelchair bound. Perfect place for Christmas!Overlooks the woods and the lake.Thanks for a great stay!

We had a wonderful time with our friends and family at the Bunkaroono cabin in Berkeley Springs WV in October 2023. The cabin kitchen was fully stocked and the cabin was very clean and comfortable. The cabin is minutes from downtown Berkeley Springs.

Like coming home!

My family and I love coming to this cabin and have done so off and on for the past 6 years. It is especially wonderful to be able to bring my dogs along on vacation. Consideration might be given to purchasing a new can opener for the kitchen, upgrading quality of king size sheets, and providing additional towels per person per visit. We will definitely be back again!

Christmas Cabin

We were really impressed by the Bunkaroono cabin. Everything was fresh and it felt like a premium property where we could relax for the last few days of our Christmas holiday. The modern appliances and updated furniture were a big plus allowing us to feel at home. The bonus of the view from the rear deck made it feel like a true Christmas cabin. We would like to revisit Bunkaroono again.

Christmas getaway

Stayed here over Christmas. Very nice surprise to find beautiful Christmas tree and tasteful decorations in rental. Very cozy Christmas! Area was very quiet and peaceful.

Fall getaway

We enjoyed our stay on a nice long November weekend. We spent a lot of time sprawled on huge sectional couch and out by the fire pit. The kitchen was well supplied with cooking supplies and essential spices. The cabin’s development is off the beaten path; the development is generally quiet but the cabin next door feels right on top of the fire pit, so bear that in mind if you’re looking for total seclusion. We did need to contact the office regarding some missing supplies for the cabin (a lighter, Firestarter, and batteries for the provided flashlights). They were responsive and dropped off the lighter and Firestarter within a couple of hours, but only supplied one small Firestarter for a 3 night stay and did not drop off batteries. The only external light at the cabin is at the front door, so unless you want to rely on your phone’s flashlight, it’d be a good idea to bring your own flashlight if batteries aren’t being supplied. For the rental management: I’d highly suggest labeling the switches in the house as many switches are counterintuitive such as the first one in the master bedroom that turns on the outlets on the back wall while the switch to turn on the light in the room is on the back wall. I do agree with another reviewer: the sheets in the master bedroom are extremely pilled and therefore very scratchy. Definitely suggest bringing your own sheets if those aren’t replaced. Some tips for future renters: - consider the vehicle you bring as you’ll be driving a couple of gravel roads and some long windy roads on the way to the cabin from town - consider bringing your own firewood and/or starter. We had a difficult time getting the provided wood to catch with the provided Firestarter and newspaper we brought. Once we got our own wood and Duraflame, we had awesome fires. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend staying here.

Cozy Tree house in Berkeley springs

We really enjoyed our short stay in the Bunkaroono. Our baby and pup were cozy in the cabin. Beautiful open kitchen and living room. Keurig didn't work but there was a coffee machine too! Beds are not very comfortable and the sheets are scratchy and very pilled. Bring your own pillow!

Good but not great

First, there is nothing terribly wrong with this place. It's cozy, with a lovely deck and a perfect location--remote enough to feel like a vacation, connected enough to have great wi-fi and cell signal and just a short drive from Berkeley Springs. However, there are a lot of little things wrong with this place that stop it from being great: - When we arrived, the bed in the master bedroom was unmade. After some sleuthing, we found the sheets and towels for that room in the dryer. We weren't pumped to start our vacation by making a bed. - The dishwasher had not been emptied--another start-of-vacation chore we did not anticipate or enjoy. - I paid $15 to reserve a high chair, but there was no high chair to be found. I contacted the management company for a refund but, 11 days later, have not heard a response. - The drip coffee maker was broken. The Keurig machine may have worked, but we did not purchase any k-cups to test this out. - All of the Xbox controllers had dead batteries, so they were unusable until someone ran to the store. - The dining table is extremely shaky, making it a little scary to use our clip-on travel high chair (which we had to use in lieu of the missing reserved high chair). - Very little toilet paper was left for us--just a little left on the roll in each bathroom, with no spare roll. Luckily one of us noticed in time to run to the store before tragedy struck. - The A/C is a wall unit in the living room and in the master bedroom. The living room unit is very loud, making it difficult to watch TV with it on. It also doesn't do much to cool the back bedrooms, making the rather warm in summertime. - Use of the community pool requires a pool pass. The pool pass is hanging above the table near the door, but none of the written materials provided discuss the pool pass. We had to walk to the pool, get rejected, walk back, and look around for it before walking back. It would have been nice to have the pool pass explained ahead of time. - The requested check out process is rather lengthy and involves stripping the beds, starting the laundry, loading and starting the dishwasher, and taking out the trash. This isn't terrible, but given how little was done before we arrived, it made me wonder what exactly is done between guests. None of these items was a total dealbreaker, but it's a shame that the renter hasn't made these easy fixes to take their cabin from good to great.

Labor Day Weekend Getaway

We had a very relaxing time at Bunkaroono over the Labor Day weekend. Plenty of seating inside and out. Firepit was inviting with fire already built! Management appreciated our input on a few minor issues (which did not affect our stay). Love the Treetop Restaurant at Coolfont Resort and you are conveniently located to 2 state parks. Would rent again.

Easter weekend 2022

Second trip to this wonderful, well-stocked house with a gorgeous view. Want to keep coming back since it is such a comfortable place. One small suggestion…new king sheets as they are badly pilling. Otherwise, all good!
