There's something easy about staying somewhere that feels like a real home. This two-bedroom house on Lavina Street is the kind of place where you drop your bags and immediately stop thinking about where anything is. Built in 1900, it has the character older Fort Wayne homes are known for — updated with the practical stuff handled. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking actual meals, not just reheating them. The open living area keeps things from feeling cramped, and the natural light does the rest. Two bedrooms sleep up to four, a sofa bed adds flexibility, and the bathroom comes stocked. A short walk puts you at TinCaps Stadium and everything downtown has to offer — Headwaters Park, the Embassy Theatre, good food, easy rideshare access. Walkable, low-fuss, and pets are welcome.
At first, the thermometer was locked so we couldn't get the heat on, but someone came over and unlocked it, so it was all good.. no issues after that. I would stay there again for sure.

The house was near a lot of things to do and see. Walking distance to a few bars and very easy to get around. The house itself is basic but nice, bring slippers if staying in cooler months. Bed is very comfy and the place was clean. There were Kcups for keurig so that was nice. The stairs to the upstairs bedroom and bathroom are very steep. If you bring a pet, the backyard is not fully fenced, the back is open but decent size. There is only street parking and very difficult to get a spot. Neighbors helped us with a shovel as it snowed a lot while we were there and there was no shovel available. There were a few issues but the house was good for location and not having to stay in a hotel. If I had a designated parking spot, I would stay again.
