The owner, Luis, is an architect, and it shows in this apartment: thoughtful design features throughout.
The neighborhood is middle class and felt perfectly safe, though I confess I'm not one to be overly concerned about such things. Location is near the corner of a rather busy intersection, but no noise to speak of enters the apartment.
Around the corner is a pharmacy, an Oxxo, and a wine shop. About three blocks away is a pretty good restaurant, Dionisio's. (You can walk to it via the residential street fronting the apartment, which is recommended because dodging cars on the parallel street/highway would not be fun.) There's also a pleasant park across the street from the restaurant and a large shopping center across the highway, but not much else to write home about that I found in the immediate area.
Still, the apartment isn't too far from the town center-- well, too far to walk, but a taxi or Uber will only set you back US$2-6 or so to take you downtown.
I would definitely stay here again.
