Great location but left lots to be desired

The property manager was very helpful.
The vacation rental was very clean.
I was very happy with the location.
I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental.
Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental.

I've stayed at a different Gold Camp unit (also a 2BR) before and was very happy. Unfortunately that wasn't the case this time, even though we are not very picky in general about accommodations. In terms of positives, it's a great location, the kitchen is fairly stocked with anything you'd need, it has a long wall rack to store all of your skiing apparel, and it was clean for the most part. On the negative side, the unit is much smaller than the previous unit we rented (it looks like this may be the case between upper floor units and other units), with low ceilings, tiny bathrooms and low lighting. We were lucky in that the unit above us was empty for most of our trip but once someone did show up the last few days, you could hear every foot step, every door shutting, etc. Much of what's in the place is old and needs to be updated. The worst part is the beds. The frames in the 2nd bedroom are extremely squeaky, the sheets/pillows/duvets are bargain bin. And the mattresses...wow. The listing says that they've been replaced recently. If that's the case, they were replaced by something that a nearby motel was throwing away.
