Everything was perfect. Lynn was super sweet and accommodating. The farm is perfect for walking and enjoying fresh air. The animals are so fun to watch also. Cabin was everything we needed and more. Great place to stay.

I Loved Titus (Ty) the guard dog.!!!! The place has everything you could need on an overnight stay. The owners are so kind. Cute little farm so clean you only enjoy the stay. Loved it ❤️ Close to the lake and so much fun.

Our family loved this stay!

Our hosts made this whole stay absolutely wonderful! Our cabin was super clean, comfortable and equipped with everything we could need including fresh breakfast items and snacks for the kids. The ranch is beautiful. We loved seeing the Milky Way on clear nights and the animals in the morning. The highlight was being introduced to the alpacas, rams and turkeys. We’ll remember this trip fondly, and we’ve already recommended the cabin to friends and family who visit the area.

Amazing Full Immersion Visit

Lyn and Andrew were incredible. They took the time to show us so much more than we expected. We got to help feed, take samples, and learned the ins/outs of raising alpaca and sheep. We loved it and will definitely be back!

We had the best time!! Our teen loved seeing all the animals!! Lynn was the best hostess!! She had so much information about the animals and the farm. My top priority is cleanliness and a comfortable bed and this had BOTH!! We thoroughly enjoyed our visit! Left feeling refreshed and relaxed!! Thank you!!

Great experience!

Lyn and Mark are terrific hosts. They really make your stay a warm and happy one. The cottage is everything you could possibly want. We could watch the alpaca right outside from the back deck as well as see the beautiful sunsets. I would highly recommend this holiday. We travelled about 2500 miles to be there and we are thrilled that we did. Thanks Lyn and Mark.

A great place and great owners

I enjoyed my stay very much, my goal was for rest and relaxation and it was wonderful. All the beautiful animals were fun to be around, including precious dogs, alpacas, sheep, rosters, chickens, turkeys and turtles. The owners were great and very kind and helpful, I enjoyed getting to know Lyn and Mark and their son Andrew. A really bad storm came over and I got to see the most beautiful rainbow I'd ever seen. The cabin was beautiful and filled with goodies I wasn't expecting. Their was candy, snacks, oatmeal, bagels, butter, you name it. It's a great place to kick back and just relax and enjoy. I didn't think I could do without my computer, but I was wrong and glad I disconnected for 4 days. I hope to go back again at some point. I highly recommend Gulf Breeze. It's not a place for swimming pools and fancy rides, but it's a great place to unplug and just sit and enjoy animals and nature, have fun and relax.

Enjoyed our stay

We were looking for a quiet peaceful place to stay to get out of the city. This was just the place. It was quiet, dark and peaceful. It was nice to see the sunrise and sunset as well as the stars at night. Our hosts were more than accommodating. Thank you for a lovely vacation.

Cozy Place!

Wonderful stay at the Alpaca ranch. It was so hot I didn’t get to sit out on the porch as much as I had intended, but when I did it was very relaxing and peaceful watching the alpacas. Enjoyed interacting with the dogs also. Cabin was very clean and comfortable, exactly what I needed for a few days. Had every thing I needed. Lyn and Mark have owned and operated the Gulf Breeze Alpaca (and Sheep) Ranch at Lake Corpus Christi near Mathis since 2007. Soon after welcoming her alpacas home, Lyn developed skills in processing their fiber herself, starting with learning how to shear them. After learning how to shear and process her own fiber into batts, roving and yarn, Lyn opened her shop and studio where she teaches spinning, knitting and wet felting & needle felting. She offers hand made and commercially made items and yarn in her shop at the ranch. Mark and Lyn offer tours of the ranch to groups and families throughout the year. This year they have added vacation rentals to the mix.

The Christophs sought a piece of land within a 50 mile radius of their home in Corpus Christi where they could get away on weekends. They found this spot, a five acre tract of unimproved land that was located across the road from Lake Corpus Christi and immediately fell in love with the area. After purchasing the land in 2000, they spent weekends using a travel trailer, later to build a house, where they live now. They purchased additional 10 acres in 2008, and the 15 acres that connected it all together in 2010.

The property is located within the flight paths of many migrating birds. There are many beautiful birds that live in the area year round. Green Jays, Kiskadees, Mockingbirds, many different finches and water fowl make their home in the area surrounding the lake. Wildlife is abundant, especially since the State Park is located less than 2 miles to the South of the property, there is also a Nature Preserve that runs along the river on both sides of the Wesley Seal Dam. Being within 50 miles of the Gulf Coast, the property enjoys cooling breezes coming from the Gulf waters, a semi-tropical environment. Being also on the edge of the dry line gives the property some semi-arid benefits such as a little dryer days in the summer.

No matter what time of year, the benefits of living and working in the country are incalculable.
