Angie was a wonderful host, and we truly enjoyed our stay. While the location may feel remote to some, it was actually very meaningful for me. I grew up visiting New Ulm regularly, and this area brought back a lot of special memories—it even reminded me of my great-grandparents’ place. It’s also conveniently located less than 15 minutes from Brenham, which made it easy to get to the stores. The home itself is a cozy two-bedroom, one-bath and had everything we needed. I especially appreciated the thoughtful touches like snacks, paper plates, and most of all, the bottle of wine waiting for us. After a long drive from the Lake Jackson area, that small gesture made a big difference. We traveled with my husband, mom, daughter, and our two senior dogs, and it was a perfect fit for all of us. The yard worked great for the dogs—we didn’t have any issues with them wandering off—and the outdoor lighting at night was very helpful, especially for arriving late.We were in town for a family reunion in nearby Bleiblerville, and the location made it easy to access Brenham and Belleville. I would recommend staying at least three nights if you can, just to give yourself time to truly relax and enjoy the peaceful setting. It even rained while we were there, and listening to the rain at night added to the calm, restful atmosphere.
