Our stay was wonderful from start to finish! The property is even prettier in person and the house had everything you could need from preparing a meal to reading a book on the deck. Communication was easy and always quick, and our family had an incredibly relaxing and lovely weekend!

We loved our stay at Win’s home. The house was perfect for us (four couples). We really appreciated the spacious and well stocked kitchen, the lovely outside spaces, comfy beds, and seeing and hearing the horses!

We had a great week here with siblings and spouses. The property was beautiful and the home was perfect for all of us. We spent most nights cooking in and the kitchen was perfect for a large group prepping together with all of the necessities available. We loved the deck and the peacefulness that came with it and enjoyed seeing the horses and deer. The rooms were great size and very comfortable too. The proximity to Charlottesville downtown was also a plus, within fifteen minutes and other sites. The communication with Win was great too, as he was very responsive whether it was questions or recommendations. Definitely would stay here again!

Thank you! Your wife messaged me separately so I will add her comments: This was a spectacular stay! What a beautiful house and property! Most people are looking for hot tubs, etc., but this was just perfect! I enjoyed that there was not a tv in the main area! My children, husband and I played games and I read your books while they napped on Saturday! We would love to come back again. Your books are so interesting, the house is so modern and beautiful! We had a wonderful and quiet vacation! The 17 and 15 year old had so much relaxation while my hubby and they slept. I read the entire Sacred Places in the World Atlas book while they did so while enjoying wine in the kitchen. Wish we had another day or two. It was fabulous! Please add this review to your list. When you just want to relax and unwind this is the place to go! So quiet and comfortable! Thank you! We didn’t want to leave!

This is a beautiful updated and spacious home in a beautiful wooded setting that is conveniently located to Charlottesville and the University of Virginia. The hosts were easy to work with and very responsive.

The property is absolutely beautiful. My siblings and our families stayed for a wedding weekend. We had a lot of room to spread out - the spaces were generous and comfortable; it has such a peaceful, retreat-like feeling. The kitchen was beautiful; helpful to have so many bathrooms, and there were games and some dumbbells for working out. A few minor frustrations- I was a little surprised we had to collect and take trash out as well as gather used towels and strip beds as i have rarely had to do this ag airbnbs, this was my first VRBO so perhaps it’s more common. Also foyer smelled like smoke. Once you’re in the house you stop smelling it. All in all it was beautiful and the location was perfect for us

Thanks for feedback. Apparently, about 80% of AirB&B/ VRBO ask the guest to remove trash and about 50% ask to strip beds. On the latter issue, apparently it was a higher percentage in the past but this has declined because house cleaners find it more difficult to find stains from make-up etc. However, sorry this was annoying. Being a 5300 SF house it generally takes 5-7 hours to clean which is why we ask for trash to be removed and beds stripped. Hopefully, the early check-in offset your displeasure. Thanks!

We were lucky enough to find this beautiful spot for our family to come together and spend Thanksgiving week while my mom received treatment at UVA Cancer Center. The house was beautiful - clean and idyllically situated with space for us to spread out. It felt more like home than a vacation rental. We thoroughly enjoyed the quiet sunsets on the deck, the serene wildlife, and the peaceful walks to visit the horses. The kitchen was well enough equipped for us to throw together a Thanksgiving meal, which we enjoyed around the welcoming dining table. We also appreciated the awesome scrabble game and the nice selection of reading material. This was our favorite rental yet and we hope to return here whenever we travel to Charlottesville to support my mom during her treatment. Thank you for sharing this special place with us!

One of the oldest and best shopping areas is Barracks Rd Shopping Center. One of the most scenic roads is Barracks Road which turns into Garth Road. As you head west on Gary you approach the Foxfield Racecourse and iconic the iconic Hunt Country Corner Store. Turning right on the Free Union Rd. You head toward Free Union which has some of the most beautiful farms and homes in Alelbemarle county.

River Rock is one of 5 homes on 57 acres. The entire property borders the Mechums River on one side. The house is at the top of a forested slope. Beneath the forested slope are horse fields and the river. Whether you want to just relax in the house, on the deck, or walk through the woods and fields, River Rock offers privacy and rejuvenation.
