Located DIRECTLY on the Lake, this 4/5 bedroom 3.5 bath Castle offers fabulous views of the Lake from every room. With just a 25 to 50 foot walk down 1 of 5 paths to the lake, in seconds after leaving the Castle, you can be swimming in your own private cove or getting into your boat which you have moored at the water's edge.

Whether you are looking for the abundant wildlife of the Lake (bald eagles, osprey and other fauna) or the serenity and beauty of this mountain wonderland (Mt. Shasta, waterfalls, Shasta/Trinity Forest)this Lake Shasta rental has been the perfect getaway since 1992.

And yes, this Castle has a turret topped with a finial!! Each room is decorated as a Castle should be with lots of antiques, yet most comfortable and cozy for a great nights rest!! The Great Room has ceilings 18 feet high with an 8 ft. high fireplace. The breakfast nook area is great for morning coffee and roll and the formal dining room offers spectacular views of the lake!!

The outdoor Bar-B-Que pit with picnic tables offers outdoor cooking/marshmallow roasting in the total family atmosphere while the back deck cooking area/dining table offers yet another delectable selection for Castle dining.

Amazing experience and stay
This was such an amazing adventure for our families. We couldn't ask for more! Owner was super accomadating and helpful at all times. He would called us every so often just to make sure we were okay and enjoying our stay! The castle was amazing. Hot it was such a wonderful experience facing the lake. We took a hike in the back view was awesome! We couldn't ask for a better time. Ameneities was stalked fully and rooms were near and clean! Thank you so much Marc! We truly enjoyed our stay and can't wait to be back again!!

This was one of the best places we have ever stayed. It was extraordinarily clean and packed with everything 4 adults and 4 teenagers need to space out, come together for food, and play games or hang out on the beautiful deck. It had everything you could possibly need for a great vacation, for any occasion. Both kids said how homey and comfortable the house felt and the surroundings are beautiful. The beds were more comfortable than our ones at home, almost didn't leave!!!! Will definitely be going back!!!!

Wonderful Vacation Retreat

Marc was fantastic and very helpful from the very beginning of our inquiry. The Castle is so much more than advertised. We were a group of 15 (4 families) and were not bumping into each other like when we stayed at other rentals on the lake. From the huge back deck with the lake right below to the comfort of the Castle and its surroundings, we have found this vacation rental to be the best. Marc recommended sightseeing in Mt. Shasta and McCloud to fill a day off the lake which made our vacation more than what we expected. Highly recommend.

Great place to relax

The house is in an excellent, quiet location and has great amenities, including a fantastic deck for hanging out with the whole gang. We had 13 people staying very comfortably, rarely left the property, and never got bored (spent much of our time in the lake or on the deck). The deck has a great mix of sun and shade, and the external speakers provide a great ambiance when desired, without projecting noise to the neighboring properties. The kitchen was modern and clean, as was the rest of the house. Plenty of bbq's and associated equipment for feeding the crew. Easy access to I-5 makes for getting to other places in the region a breeze. Did a fair amount of running, hiking, and mountain biking in the area. I wouldn't be surprised to be back at "The Castle" again. I highly recommend it.

Spectacular home! Awesome vacation!

This house is far above any of the 20+ vacation rentals that we have stayed at. Upon arrival, the first thing you notice is how meticulously clean this property is, even the driveway...not a rock out of place. The house is gorgeous inside and out. It is well-lit with natural light as well as light fixtures. The kitchen is loaded with dishes, utensils and high quality cookware. We lived on the deck! Huge well-constructed deck facing the forest with the lake just beyond the trees. The furnishings are plush and tasteful. The pictures on the wall give the home character and a sense of rich history. Our group included people from 5 years to 50 years. There was plenty of space to spread out and do your own thing and gathering areas for quality family time. Everyone in our group said, "We have to come back."

My family recently stayed at the CASTLE and let me tell you it's a CASTLE fit for queens, and kings! The beautiful lake within walking distance. Waking up to fresh air, quite, peaceful surroundings made this family outting a total adventure. We were within driving distance to several attractions and hikes. Mount Shasta, caverns, waterfalls, breathless sights. We took long walks along the lake, if the weather would've permitted we would've gone swimming maybe next time well plan another family outting closer to the summer. The Castle had everything you wished for. Comfy beds, linens, fully equip kitchen, surround sound, bbq areas, beautiful deck,spa, tv (which we had not time to watch which was great), games, movies, etc.no need to pack anything but your clothes and food. Everything else is at the Castle. They've thought of everything for all ages from small children to adults. The only thing we wished we could've done is stay another day!!!!! We look forward to going back.

Some R&R - Castle style

The home is exactly as it’s described with exception of the deck. We spent most of our stay enjoying the deck rain/shine. It was extremely peaceful and did not lack privacy - sometime this is something you have to sacrifice when renting right on the lake, but not here! The owner was the ultimate host! Communication was very prompt and detailed, but simple. The kitchen was well stocked with any item needed for your cooking and baking needs. The location of this home also gives its 5 star - you have quick and easy access to 2 private marinas and 1 public boat launch, extremely close to I-5 but not in a negative way where it would make your trip feel less remote & walking distance to 2 local lake restaurant/bars. We rented this home on a spur of the moment after losing a family member. The owner easily accommodated us, as the family was looking for a place to find closure and heal - & this is more than what the doctor ordered between the family meals on the deck, Pictionary games in the living room or ping pong/fousball tourneys in the garage. Five Plus, Plus, Plus Stars

Our experience renting this house from the start was exceptional. I enjoyed working with Marc every step of the way. When we arrived, we noticed the house is more impressive than the photos depict. The size and layout of the house provides a lot of privacy. With 12 adults and 3 teenagers we had plenty of room to spread out and enjoy our week at Lake Shasta. The location of the house is perfect for easy access to Antler’s Resort & Marina where we rented ski and patio boats, and with an easy walking path to the beach we were able to play in the water with our water toys or easily access the boats we rented. Being able to enjoy the lake without traveling was priceless. The house itself is well appointed with some of the most comfortable beds, new TVs, quality furniture, well-stocked kitchen supplies, top-notch patio furniture, etc. The house is clean and it is obvious that a lot of pride is taken in owning this home. I travel frequently and rent homes several times a year. This is by far my favorite experience. We can’t wait to go back so we can explore the areas we didn’t get to this time. Thank you Marc!

Amazing Vacation @ Shasta

SPS What a great time we had at the castle. We had several families come and go throughout the week. We had plenty of space for everyone. We were all very impressed with The amount of thought put into every detail of the kitchen. We didn't go without anything. We forgot our rice cooker and there we found one right in the pantry! The beds were comfortable. The kids all loved reading the guestbook with the different stories people told of the visits throughout the years. Marc The owner was helpful and gracious throughout our stay. The lake was extremely fullthis year so the walk down to the water wasn't too bad but the walk up was a bit of a workout. The deck is beautiful. The hot tub was clean. We were impressed with the cleanliness of the property inside and out when we arrived. Loved the Wi-Fi also. Our family goes to Lake Shasta every year. This by far have been Our Favorite Place to stay. We were happy to have bear boxes as bears did visit us a couple times throughout the week !!We are looking forward to a visit next year. Awesome experience

We recently stayed at the CASTLE for Memorial weekend and couldn't ask for anything better. Marc, the owner was just exceptional. He was super helpful from the beginning till the end and was always checking on us to make sure we were having a great time as well as safe and enjoying our time there. The CASTLE was just awesome. Located right by the lake, the view was just amazing. We had a BBQ out there, while the kids went fishing. The hot tub was the cherry on top of the ice cream. It was the most relaxing night I have had in many many years. Gazing at the stars while enjoying a glass of wine and sitting in the hot tub, couldn't ask for better. The house itself was amazing. It's all furnished with new beddings, furniture, beds, towels you name it. The amenities was stocked, we didn't have a problem at all. Kids was just so in tune to the house they didn't want go out! It's close to everything. It's 15 min away from the Harbor Light, where you can rent out a house boat and enjoy your stay at the lake the whole day. This was a super experience for our family....we couldn't ask for anything better. Thank you Marc again for being so inviting and making sure we were having a great time at all times!!!

Excellent Lake House!

Where do I start!? The Castle was everything we hoped for and more! We were a group of 8 adults and 8 kids! We had plenty of room for everyone. We put a couple of kids on two of the air beds and our 3 yr old sleep in what he called the "king bed", (a window seat in the master, which was a perfect bed for him). The beds were all very comfortable and we slept great all week! The house has everything you need, crock pot, rice cooker, two barbecues, nice bath towels, and 2 extra fridges and an extra freezer in the garage! This came in handy with keeping our drinks cold. The temp outside ranged from 100-114 while we were there! The AC never had a problem keeping up! We've stayed in rentals in the past were the upstairs never really cooled off, this was not the case at the Castle. The house is perfectly located on the lake. A short walk down to water where we anchored our boats every night, super convenient! It was a rocky, I would recommend water shoes or keens for the hike up and down. There is a shower outside the house which was super convenient in washing the kids up after a day on the Lake. Marc the owner is super easy to work with and very knowledgeable and helpful! We will definitely be coming back!

Our time at "The Castle "

We found "The Castle" through VRBO, as we love Lake Shasta we looked at houseboats but then came across The Castle. It looked great and has gotten great reviews so thought we'd give it a shot. It was my family and our friends family, 8 people total. From the very start dealing with the owner, Marc, was very easy, no problems at all. We arrived and from the moment you pull up you know this place is cool. You can tell it's been very well taken care of, very clean. Not your everyday rental, kitchen is awesome and very loaded, great pots and pans, tons of silverware, glasses, plates bowls. Granite countertops, nice refrigerators, also 3 refrigerators in garage also. 5 bedrooms all with very nice beds, sheets, flat screen TVs in every room. Then you go out back where there is this huge deck, with tables, lounge chairs, hot tub, and the hot tub is a great one, not your average rental hot tub. Beautiful trees all around, view of lake right from the deck. We had our boat in the water and you can see it right from the deck. Very short walk down to the lake, you have your own path straight down. 2 minute walk. We are all planning on making this a tradition, hoping to get back up to The Castle before the end of the summer again. Thanks Marc for sharing your place with us!! Price is cheaper then a houseboat, and you don't have to put gas in it! N
