Wonderful Family Vacation Spot!

Our family enjoyed our stay at this massive beach house on the shores of beautiful Wrightsville Beach North Carolina. Lots of space to hangout and direct access to the beach from the back of the house. This home is more spacious than the photos appear to show.

80 birthday reunion

Wife and I celebrated our 80th birthdays with a dozen family members and we all enjoyed a very nice, roomy and clean accommodation right on the beach. We will do this here again.

Wonderful weekend getaway

The Madras house on Wrightsville Beach was perfect for our party of 12. The house was spacious and offered enough privacy for 3 families staying under one roof. We each had our own bathroom. The open kitchen and family room was a perfect space to hang out. The deck and views were fabulous! I would definitely choose this house again in the future.

Family getaway

Perfect for our family! So close to water so super easy to go back and forth with young kids. Everyone had their own space. I couldn’t tell this from the pictures but two of the BRs are set up perfectly for a family with small kids - a room with a queen and a room with two twins is set up like its own suite area - it allowed my 4 yr grandson to be close to mom and dad but still in his own room so he (and they) got better sleep. So many comments from everyone about how perfect the location and set-up was!

Great location-Needs some TLC

PROS: The location of this house is spectacular. Outside deck is great as is the entire layout of the house. Good linen and towel service and laundry room. CONS: There are no window shades or coverings in almost the entire house, including the bedrooms. Furniture and carpeting are stained or tired. Hot water takes about 3 minutes to get hot.

It does feel a bit "run down around the edges" and could use some sprucing up (stained carpet in the living area, windows that have lost their seal and are permanently clouded). The internet was not working when we arrived and the management company responded promptly and came out within a couple of hours.

Beautiful but needs a little bit of attention

Madras House is beautiful and spacious, with two decks overlooking the ocean, but could use a little bit of attention. The wall to wall carpeting is worn and stained in some spots; there’s peeling paint here and there; some of the louvered shutters on the windows are broken; one of the cabinet doors in the kitchen was loose; a lampshade in a bedroom was stained. That was disappointing but we still had a wonderful time in this oceanfront home and would happily stay there again.

Wonderful Beach Stay

What a great location and spectacular views. The eagles nest on top of the house made it great to also watch the sunset at night. The house was very clean and well equipped. My biggest concern was that the patio door didn’t lock, which made us concerned about valuables when we were at the beach. Also, I wish we would have known there was construction two doors down, as it made it impossible to be able to enjoy relaxing on the back patio. The house does need to be updated ~ especially the master bath toilet, as it would constantly run. Other than that, we would stay again. I just think the price of the home was overpriced for the very dated quality.

Enjoyed our stay! Beautiful setting.

Loved the location, size of house (my daughter-in-law called it a labyrinth house!) Gorgeous views, huge deck, interior large rooms were tidy with lovely colors & decor, & comfortable. Negatives: very expensive for lack of upkeep, many things need attention (stains on carpets, coffee pot didn't work (noted on earlier review), Safety issues: the main back sliding door has no locking hardware and a wooden rod was the only way to lock door. As a main back exit, this is a safety issue- in an emergency it would be very difficult to exit, especially at night when you wouldn't be able to locate rod. (I saw a review complaining about this last year and thought it had been fixed) Also that same walkout area had an old worn out attached wooden mat that was damaged with slivers of ripped wood which could potentially hurt bare feet! All that said, you can feel the love and attention this house once had, and we had a wonderful time staying there. I will probably stay there again if we return.

We checked in and checked right back out

This house didn't meet the expectations of a house that I spent an exorbitant amount of money to rent. It had no lock on the back sliding back door and it only stayed shut with a broken board. It appeared that the only way you can shut the shades in the rooms is to either walk around with a pole or climb up in the window boxes. Due to NOT feeling safe with a door that had no hardware on it, we left 30 minutes after arrival and checked into a hotel. I went to the rental office the following morning, showed pictures and they agreed to refund me. If they go through with the reimbursement, I will happy to give the rental company a good review.

Could use new carpet & bigger sheet pans, but great overall. Our group loved this place - all gave two thumbs up. We would all go again! Highly recommend.

Two of our adults were handicapped.One thing we would like to see added is the downstairs bathroom needs a higher toilet and handles for handicapped. Also the bathroom beside the room with the hospital bed and king bed needs a higher toilet and handles. The space is too small to help someone on and off the toilet.The elevator was wonderful!!!! It worked perfectly!We did have some issues with huge roaches showing up from time to time - kitchen, upstairs hallway, etc. Needs roach treatment or something.Overall we had a wonderful week and the maintenance guys came out pretty quickly to fix the door to the deck - it was hard to push and got stuck a couple of times.
