We had a fantastic stay at this home in Wrightsville Beach! The house was incredibly spacious and never felt cramped, even with our larger group. It was well stocked with plenty of linens, towels, and blankets, which made everything that much more comfortable.The home was clean, well maintained, and clearly cared for. We also loved how private it felt- tucked away from the main road while still being right on the beach. It was the perfect balance of convenience and seclusion.We would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful Family Vacation Spot!

Our family enjoyed our stay at this massive beach house on the shores of beautiful Wrightsville Beach North Carolina. Lots of space to hangout and direct access to the beach from the back of the house. This home is more spacious than the photos appear to show.

80 birthday reunion

Wife and I celebrated our 80th birthdays with a dozen family members and we all enjoyed a very nice, roomy and clean accommodation right on the beach. We will do this here again.

Wonderful weekend getaway

The Madras house on Wrightsville Beach was perfect for our party of 12. The house was spacious and offered enough privacy for 3 families staying under one roof. We each had our own bathroom. The open kitchen and family room was a perfect space to hang out. The deck and views were fabulous! I would definitely choose this house again in the future.

Family getaway

Perfect for our family! So close to water so super easy to go back and forth with young kids. Everyone had their own space. I couldn’t tell this from the pictures but two of the BRs are set up perfectly for a family with small kids - a room with a queen and a room with two twins is set up like its own suite area - it allowed my 4 yr grandson to be close to mom and dad but still in his own room so he (and they) got better sleep. So many comments from everyone about how perfect the location and set-up was!

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Not very rewarding. While the location of the property was superb and the staff was responsive the experience was not very good: broken glass in the kitchen, lively cockroaches and two empty propane tanks for the gas grill which I confirmed was available for our cookout function.

Hi Steve. Thank you for your feedback. I'm very saddened that you didn't enjoy your stay at this very popular and beautiful house. We would have gladly brought you more propane had we known that it had ran out. I do apologize for the water bugs but they are very prevalent in the south east and especially the coastal areas. They do find themselves able to get inside at times but with our regular pest control service they die very quickly, but still can be an annoyance. I hope you were able to take advantage of the ocean, being that it was only steps away and the awesome views from every room in this grand home. We hope you will come to Wrightsville Beach again soon!

Great location-Needs some TLC

PROS: The location of this house is spectacular. Outside deck is great as is the entire layout of the house. Good linen and towel service and laundry room. CONS: There are no window shades or coverings in almost the entire house, including the bedrooms. Furniture and carpeting are stained or tired. Hot water takes about 3 minutes to get hot.

The unit has had considerable upgrades this year, most recently the owners replacing all the windows in the unit. We are working with the owner to add some additional shades and the carpets are already on the list for replacement in the future. I will make note of your comments about the furniture as well and pass them along to the homeowners. We hope you will consider Madras House for your next trip to Wrightsville - there is so many wonderful amenities that make this unit a great pick!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Madras House is ideally located and the house is spacious and comfortable. Our family of 4 spent a lovely week at the house. It does feel a bit "run down around the edges" and could use some sprucing up (stained carpet in the living area, windows that have lost their seal and are permanently clouded). The internet was not working when we arrived and the management company responded promptly and came out within a couple of hours.

As for the carpets, this unit is regularly carpet cleaned (including upholstery), so while there may be permanent staining, they are sanitized! Beautiful but needs a little bit of attention

Madras House is beautiful and spacious, with two decks overlooking the ocean, but could use a little bit of attention. The wall to wall carpeting is worn and stained in some spots; there’s peeling paint here and there; some of the louvered shutters on the windows are broken; one of the cabinet doors in the kitchen was loose; a lampshade in a bedroom was stained. That was disappointing but we still had a wonderful time in this oceanfront home and would happily stay there again.

Thank you for your feedback on the Madras property, Monica. We certainly value guest feedback and I have made notes to relay to the owners. The owner is planning on a large renovation project this year, likely in the offseason replacing all the carpeting and possibly repairing the plantation shutters. He is adding a foosball table in the game room upstairs and Smart TVS to the bedrooms. We are excited for the upgrades coming up and can't wait to share with everyone. I am happy that you all had a wonderful stay nonetheless, and we hope to see you back in Wrightsville Beach again soon.

Wonderful Beach Stay

What a great location and spectacular views. The eagles nest on top of the house made it great to also watch the sunset at night. The house was very clean and well equipped. My biggest concern was that the patio door didn’t lock, which made us concerned about valuables when we were at the beach. Also, I wish we would have known there was construction two doors down, as it made it impossible to be able to enjoy relaxing on the back patio. The house does need to be updated ~ especially the master bath toilet, as it would constantly run. Other than that, we would stay again. I just think the price of the home was overpriced for the very dated quality.

Enjoyed our stay! Beautiful setting.

Loved the location, size of house (my daughter-in-law called it a labyrinth house!) Gorgeous views, huge deck, interior large rooms were tidy with lovely colors & decor, & comfortable. Negatives: very expensive for lack of upkeep, many things need attention (stains on carpets, coffee pot didn't work (noted on earlier review), Safety issues: the main back sliding door has no locking hardware and a wooden rod was the only way to lock door. As a main back exit, this is a safety issue- in an emergency it would be very difficult to exit, especially at night when you wouldn't be able to locate rod. (I saw a review complaining about this last year and thought it had been fixed) Also that same walkout area had an old worn out attached wooden mat that was damaged with slivers of ripped wood which could potentially hurt bare feet! All that said, you can feel the love and attention this house once had, and we had a wonderful time staying there. I will probably stay there again if we return.

We checked in and checked right back out

This house didn't meet the expectations of a house that I spent an exorbitant amount of money to rent. It had no lock on the back sliding back door and it only stayed shut with a broken board. It appeared that the only way you can shut the shades in the rooms is to either walk around with a pole or climb up in the window boxes. Due to NOT feeling safe with a door that had no hardware on it, we left 30 minutes after arrival and checked into a hotel. I went to the rental office the following morning, showed pictures and they agreed to refund me. If they go through with the reimbursement, I will happy to give the rental company a good review.

We heavily rely on guest feedback to not only improve our services but also to encourage our owner's to make improvements to their homes. I made note of your suggestions and will pass them along to the property managers. We are excited to hear you enjoyed the stunning location and view and found the beds comfortable! The owners have done considerable and costly upgrades in the last two years including all new windows installed for the home this last off season, carpet cleaning, installation of Smart TV's, foosball table, and more! I believe the owners are considering carpet replacement for next season and possibly other updates that we will certainly update our guests on once we know more! Reviewer Comments: Home layout, location, and property manager communication was terrific! 4 full bathrooms to go with the 4 bedrooms was perfect for our extended family holiday. Living room was fun for watching the big game together. Fun third floor for older kids. Big porch & easy beach access perfect for grandchildren. Kitchen was large enough for many cooks. Could use new carpet & bigger sheet pans, but great overall. Our group loved this place - all gave two thumbs up. We would all go again! Highly recommend.

Glad to hear Madras House served as the perfect rental for your family, Paul! The home is very spacious and the owners are continuing to make upgrades throughout to make it even greater. The top floor has a pool table and a foos ball table with gorgeous views of the beach so it's definitely a great spot. The owners are looking into replacing the carpeting likely in the next off season, but they have been carpet cleaned recently! We hope you will choose to stay here again next time, you are always welcome.

The owner has made some upgrades this year and the new addition of the foosball table has been exciting - and more upgrades on the way this offseason.
