House was perfectly located. House was clean and nicely decorated. The host was available almost immediately when i couldn’t work the lock to get in. She was right there via vrbo text. The beds were very comfy. And we were close to the beach. The host included so many amenities to make s feel right at home.

10/10 experience. Highly recommend booking here if you are looking for a spot to stay in Avon/OBX area. Great location 1 block off the beach and directly next to the sound side. Can walk to both and also close to multiple drive on beach ramps. House was clean and spacious with 3 nice bedrooms and bathrooms, as well as an updated kitchen and huge living room/tv set up. Host is responsive and we had zero issues during our stay. Would rent this house again!

La maison est très équipée avec tout ce qu'on peut avoir besoin et en plus tout est neuf! Yee était très rapide à répondre à nos questions. La maison est à moins de 5 minutes de marche de la plage, et il y a même chaises de plage de fournies. Le seul bémol est que la maison est près de la route principal, donc sur le balcon, c'est un peu bruyant, mais on s'y attendait, c'est normal compte tenu de l'emplacement. C'était vraiment parfait, je vous recommande.

We had a great stay at this home. It's in great condition, and the hosts clearly thought of everything you might need while you stay here. The beds are so comfortable, all linens are provided - beds are made when you arrive! From the grill and Blackstone, to the completely stocked kitchen and bathrooms, you'll feel right at home here. The beach is just a short walk across the street. And love that they provide beach chairs as well! We'd absolutely stay here again. Highly recommend!!

This was by far the best rental process I have ever had. Upon arrival, I was very pleased with the décor, cleanliness, and accommodations of the house. The beach, restaurants, and shops were within walking distance of the house. The host always got back to me right away with any questions. The host made sure my family had everything they could possibly need for a 2 week stay at the beach. The house was fully equipped with an ice maker, stove, washer/dryer, coffee maker, dishwasher, and refrigerator. There are 2 AC units in the house, which made the temperature in the house very comfortable. We loved sitting on the deck every morning with a cup of coffee and bagel. There is a ramp on the back of the house that made it super easy to bring in luggage and groceries. The hose under the deck was very convenient and useful after a day at the beach. There was plenty of space in the house for everyone to have their own space. The 3 bathrooms, free WI-FI and 3 televisions were also a bonus. I would recommend this property to anyone wanting a comfortable, fully equipped beach stay.

A Home with a Story
Originally built in 1970, this distinctive coastal property holds a meaningful place in the local history. For decades, it served as a well-known commercial space, home to beloved businesses such as Nags Head Hammocks, Baby Daddy Buggy & Scooter Rentals, and the Hatteras Island Design Center, all of which flourished within these walls. Its presence made it a familiar and memorable landmark for both residents and visitors alike.

In 2023, the building was thoughtfully remodeled and updated for residential use, blending its historic roots with modern comforts. While the interior was reimagined with an open-concept layout and contemporary touches, great care was taken to preserve the property’s unique coastal architecture. Original cedar accents—native to this region—remain a defining feature, honoring the craftsmanship and character that have long defined the space.

After being privately enjoyed following its renovation, the home begins its next chapter in 2025 as a vacation rental, welcoming guests to become part of its evolving story. This is more than a place to stay—it is a space shaped by decades of coastal life, creativity, and community. Guests are invited not only to relax and enjoy the home, but to contribute to its ongoing history by sharing their own beachside experiences as new memories are made here.
