Wonderful MEA weekend

We have a wonderful time at the cabin. The listing was very accurate except that there were no kayaks or paddle boards available. This was MEA weekend and the temperatures were in the upper 50-70s. One of the main reasons we picked this cabin was because of the advertised availability of 4 Kayaks and 2 paddle boards. However, 2-3 weeks prior to our trip we learned that the were not available. We were offered the possibility of canceling however, with such a short notice that was really not possible for a group of 7 people. We managed to bring our inflatable ones and we saved the trip but this was very unfortunate as it put a lot of stress on us trying to juggle bringing the kayaks as well. There should be a disclosure that those advertised amenities are not available in October. Besides this big disappointment the cabin was very nice . We really enjoyed the wood fire that was provided and that they allowed us to check out 1 hour later. I recommend this place but check with the owners about outdoor water amenities if this is important for you.

Great fit for our family vacation

Stayed at this lake home in 2020 and again this year as we enjoyed it so much. The home fit our family well and the activities available (kayaks, paddle boards, fishing, bags game, etc.) worked great for the adults and kids. The reservation, check in and out were all very smooth, with the owner being very responsive to any of our questions. We would not hesitate renting again!

Summer getaway

The day before our trip Karen reached out and informed us the AC unit was out. She was able to get someone out right away to get that taken care of. Communication was great! When we arrived the place was beautiful! Outside property was clean and the cabin itself was clean as well! The owners had pots and pans to use for cooking and extra supplies if needed. We had so much fun kayaking and swimming! Fishing was great! The stars were AMAZING from the dock on our last day there! For sure we’ll be returning again! Thanks for having us Karen and Tom!!

Another great stay at Fifty Lakes! Karen was so kind to send us photos of the Christmas tree and decorations to get us excited for our stay. We had a nice time away from the hullabaloo and hope to be back again!

Quiet, peaceful getaway

My family and I wanted a nice, low key environment where we could hole-up and recharge for a week. This was the perfect place. With 4 kids under 10, the dock fishing was good. Lots of small first for the kids to catch and throw back. The kayaks were great, having 4 for us to share. Life jackets were there for adults, so we brought our own for the kids. The house was well equipped, many TV’s and movies for our family to enjoy. WiFi was good, no complaints. Pellet grill was a very nice touch (side note, it convinced me to get one over the propane I currently have). The owner texted me several times, and was extremely welcoming and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

Perfect for our group!

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Birchwood Cabin for our annual girls getaway. The location was quiet and secluded and the view to the lake was gorgeous! The large open kitchen/dining/living room area was the perfect gathering space for our group and allowed us all to be in the same space to enjoy great stories and many laughs. We took advantage of the kayaks during a beautiful sunny day to get in some lake time and soak in the beauty of the area. We also enjoyed yard games, laughs around the fire pit and a wonderful fire in the fireplace. Such a wonderful place to stay - we are very thankful for the opportunity. I highly recommend this property for anyone looking for a getaway that offers peace and quite, the beauty of nature and a spacious open floor plan.

Nice cabin on small lake

The property was great. Very clean and many spaces to sleep. The owner even allowed us to drop off groceries before our check-in time. However, the cleaning crew seemed surprised we were there and tried telling us we couldn’t be there until 4. They quickly cleaned out the fridge and let us put our groceries there

Wonderfull Experience

We had a wonderful time at Karen's property. Everything went very smooth. We had 7 adults and 2 children in our group, ranging in age from 1 to 95, and all had a great time. We would definitely come back in the future.

My family and a few friends were looking for a nice get away, this place exceeded all expectations! Absolutely beautiful cabin! Plenty of space for all of us and the kids. The lake was beautiful and we loved cruising around the lake on the pontoon. Plenty of activities at the cabin to keep everyone entertained. The kitchen was stunning, and perfect for all of the cooking we did. Awesome bonfire pit, we all enjoyed sitting around the fire and looking out over the lake. Overall had an absolutely amazing time! We will definitely be renting this cabin again in the future! To top it off, Karen and Tom the owners were absolutely amazing to work with!!! 5 stars! Highly recommend this cabin!

Wonderful

We had a wonderful stay at this clean, comfortable, quiet cabin. The lake was beautiful (not as small as many private lakes we have stayed on). The owners were most helpful and worked with our family to make this a fabulous trip. The kayaks and paddle boards allowed the kids to stay entertained and since the lake is not busy we were not worried in the least about them out in the lake. Thanks for a terrific stay!

Beautiful Cabin

Thank you for sharing your lovely cabin with us, Karen! We had a lovely Christmas break. I chose this place for the kitchen/living room/fireplace layout and it didn't disappoint. Lots of karaoke, games, and movies were enjoyed during our stay along with home cooked meals every day. We brought skis along, as it was the first time for our littles- they had a good time learning by going around the sidewalk up to the house, up the side to the little road and back to the garage. Just enough practice to hit a short little trail after our trip! Karen answered our few questions and was in touch before check in about any last items. Plenty of room, felt like a very nicely kept home-away-from-home. I like that I didn't have to remember everything (like aluminum foil or firestarters) and that laundry was there so we could pack light. The house was clean and nicely decorated- cute things to look at but not at all cluttered...didn't feel like I was visiting Aunt Myrtle's or anything. :) We appreciated that the neighbor plowed the driveway the evening before we left or we may have had to shovel ourselves out. Everything was plowed and shoveled upon arrival, but it snowed each day we were up. We do have an AWD van with new tires so I wasn't too concerned about the snow, but just an fyi. Thanks again Karen- we would definitely recommend this place and would love to visit again in the future!

Incredible!

I can't say enough about how great our stay was. My friends from school, including 2 kids ages 1 and 3, LOVED our stay. It was clean, had all the amenities we needed. Renting the pontoon was a MUST. We saw loons and bald eagles on this beautiful lake. The cabin was wonderful, had a firepit outside. And the bugs were NOT bad at all. In fact, we hardly felt them over labor day weekend. Definitely stay here.

Amazing!

My girlfriends and I had the most wonderful time staying here! The property is beautiful, the cabin has so much open space and there was more than enough room for the 11 of us! The host is so great at communicating and answering any and all questions we had! She was very helpful and was very open to us reaching out if we needed her! If you’re looking for a beautiful cabin with a great view and many things to do, I would highly recommend this place!

Overall decent experience

Overall a good place. I will just list some pros and cons from my perspective: Pros: good size house and very nice layout. Can easily sleep 13. Great lake view. Great fire pit location. Yard games available to play in front of the lake. Lake is small but great for kayaks that come with the cabin. Kids had a great time swimming. Pontoon available for renting. Cons: Tons of mosquitoes. They should spray more. You are not allowed to bring your boat here. Small lake (90 some acres), so only the residents can have a boat on it. Lake is not big if you like to go for a good cruise. We rent a lot of cabins, often there is some flexibility in check in and check out times but we didn't get that here. Pontoon is only available for the full length of your stay. Can't rent it for a day or two. No beach. On one side neighbors are very close, they were running their chainsaw for hours each day during our stay.

We had a great time!

The owner was in touch during the checking in and checking out process. The property was exactly as it said. All the directions and instructions were clear and simple. We enjoyed all the amenities that was available. We will definitely consider renting it again.

A little bit of Heaven

Beautiful!! Had a wonderful and memorable time with the family.. 11 of us with the babies and we had plenty of space, basement was great for the kids to play game on those rainy days. Grocery store was with in range. The lake was beautiful and the pontoon was a bonus for us to use..Loved it very much!! The campfires were a cozy touch to our evening with smores. The grandkids absolutely loved it here.. You know when you have to leave and the majority of them are crying because they want to stay it was a big hit.. A great winter getaway

This is the first time we took a winter vacation to a 'wintery' place and we got an amazing experience. We included our kids and their families for this vacation. We enjoyed fires in the fireplace every day. So relaxing! The first day we made a sliding hill. This was so much fun, sliding both days. Our grandson didn't want to stop. The pictures provided were exactly like it was when we got there. The only thing we had to provide was the food we wanted to eat. Anything we needed for making meals was provided, crock pot, baking dishes, etc. You name it, it was there. It was so nice not to have to worry if we forgot something. Even bath towels were there for us to use! It was definitely more than we expected and we are already planing a vacation there again next year. Beautiful, clean, welcoming, organized

The owners thought of absolutely everything! Our family had a relaxed and lovely long weekend. The property is well taken care of, the home is warmly decorated and spotless. Information provided was clear and helpful. A very small and quiet lake, we enjoyed the pontoon and kayaks (my son in law caught a huge northern while kayaking). We will most certainly be back next year.
