I love this property! This is my 4th time here and i look forward to staying again. The location is fabulous, the view is sublime, and having the lobster, foods, and little store are so convenient. I come to celebrate my birthday with family and because i love Maine. Please figure out a full week or longer for next year for me. (I had to give up my two weeks last year because the pipes in my house burst. Now someone else has my slot, which i had for three previous years.

authentic Maine vacation

Despite the rain, this was an awesome stay. Food right next door. Some of the best seafood in Maine. So much to watch on a busy waterfront. Super time.

Relax in your cabin on the waterfront. Lobster dinner just steps away.

The house has a wonderful screened porch facing the harbor. Clean & cheerful. The staff was attentive and helpful.

Another Wonderful Week!

Perfect weather, stunning views, love watching the working lobster dock. The house has all the necessities for a relaxing Maine vacation. Will be back next year!

Excellent stay in prime location

Property had just had repairs & we were first in season to rent. It was casually left with minor clean ups needed, I.e. dirty oven. Our stay was indeed superb, appreciated the comfortable beds, plenty of towels & bottled water. Reaching the property manager was difficult prior to move in. Did not receive info til a couple days prior to rental. Location could not be better, very much a part of the beautiful harbor. Would highly recommend.

Location, Location, Location

This house is in a small harbor, and was so perfect for our trip. We enjoyed the screened-in porch all times of day. It was so beautiful. Watching the boats come in and unload their catch at Five Islands was so interesting. The food was excellent at Five Islands Lobster House. Everyone was so friendly there. We rented kayaks at the General Store, and toured the coast and even went across towards the lighthouse. The water is so cold, but felt good while kayaking. I am already ready to go back.

Excellent experience

We enjoyed spending time at this charming cottage on the water. Spectacular view. Conveniently located walking distance to Five Island Lobster and the Harborside general store. The owner was helpful and accommodating. Our family made some wonderful memories this vacation.

We had a wonderful two week vacation with family in July 2019. It is just a beautiful location with fantastic views.

Beautiful view.

It’s very nice. The only negative was all the people walking around the cottage taking pictures. They can see into the house (no blinds). A couple people even put their face against the window to look in the cottage. You can’t stop people from being rude, that said it’s not very private. It is beautiful and clean.

Wonderful location!! Harborside with a view.

We very much enjoyed our time at this lovely little cottage. Our hosts were very helpful, and we appreciated the attention to small details that made cooking easier (some spices, saran and foil, extra containers, a clam knife, big pots for steamers and lobster, and a propane grill), and suggestions for hiking, shopping and dining. They even had a collection of paperbacks, games and puzzles in case of a rainy day. They helped us get local oysters, clams and lobsters. We found mussels and snails at low tide. It was fun to see the boats come in and out and most of all to have a waterfront spot and big screened in porch. The floors and paint had recently been redone so it felt extra fresh and clean. A lovely long weekend for us.

Disappointing

The location, overlooking the magnificent harbor watching the lobster boats coming and going was spectacular. The cottage is so close to the water you feel like you're on a boat. The only problem is the very disturbing, incessant noise from the adjacent dock which makes it difficult to entirely enjoy the experience, especially if you're looking forward to sitting on the porch in peace and quiet, there isn't any. I think it's only fair to know what to expect.

Working Waterfront

Wonderful little cottage! If you want to get a taste of a Maine working waterfront, this is it! Wake up to the sounds of the gulls and lobster boats going out to get their catch! Bring your pleasure boat and join the fun! Spectacular sunsets viewed from a screened in porch. Where nature and work thrive together! Truly an amazing experience! Let's not forget the General Store and the 5 Islands Lobster Company with plenty of outdoor seating for your lobster feed! All within walking distance. I'll be back!

best location and people!

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!! This place was amazing, watching the lobster boats come and go, eating lobster rolls from The Lobster Co.that is 1000ft away, and so many other things too numerous to name we will carry memories with us for the rest of our lives. I hope to come back again next year. If you want to experience Maine this is the place. The screened in porch is where we spent hours with a pair of binoculars and we even saw two seals in the harbor right in front of the cottage that was amazing. Owners were very friendly and quick to answer any questions or address any concerns. The view from the front bedroom was so beautiful and relaxing, my concern is the steep stairs to get up to the bedrooms, not for the mobility challenged. Please do yourself a favor and come here just once in your life, you wont regret it.
