The host was fine, responded kindly and promptly. Unfortunately the condition of the unit was horrible. The unit was dirty, rotted moldy food in the kitchen. Dirty dishes and pans. Dirty refrigerator/freezer, broken stove, broken toaster. General dirtiness and stained and damaged furnishings. Wad of hair in the shower drain. Hair on the bedding and towels, and wads of hair left in the floor and washer. Stuff splattered and smeared on the walls and doors throughout the unit. Lack of kitchen utensils, glasses, etc. three mismatched forks and spoons, and no butter knives. Filthy pans, and cooking utensils. Everything needed to be washed. Overall, just icky. Additionally, the folks upstairs were incredibly loud throughout our time there. We clearly understood that this was a shared building and would have expected some noise. This seemed beyond what was appropriate with kids running back and forth, yelling, seemed like a party going on. In fairness to our host, we were aware that this was an attached unit and we did not talk to the host. Because of the purpose and arrangement of our trip we were limited on our choices to relocate and we did not want to have a contentious encounter with the host who lived on site.
