Enjoy your northern Michigan vacation on beautiful Burt Lake. This four bedroom, two bath ranch home sits on the northwest corner of Burt Lake, three properties south of the undeveloped University of Michigan - owned property. Nature abounds in this peaceful, wooded setting. Recently renovated, this home contains a fully-equipped kitchen with a washer and dryer, sunroom, open-concept kitchen and family room, stone fireplace, central air, deck and dock with mooring for water craft. Waterfront offers sandy beach area and incredible view of entire length of Burt Lake.

We’ve been going to Burt Lake since I was a child. It was a great home to be able to bring our children back, as well as include some of our family for the week. The property was clean, the location on the lake was great, and the shoreline/dock area(s) were all sandy- making it nice for the kids! We would definitely love to be repeat renters should our schedules permit! Thank you!

Loved it

Great space for my family of 12 to have a reunion. Really enjoyed the house, the lake, and the fire pit. Well kept with great character throughout the house. Would definitely recommend!

Great Family Getaway!

This was the perfect house for our family vacation. Plenty of room and the sunroom was a bonus. First time at Burt Lake and we will be back.

Our family had a fantastic stay at Larry’s property. It was exceptionably clean and was stocked with everything we needed for our visit. The furniture was comfortable and there was plenty of room for our family of 6 to have our own space. It is conveniently located to Indian River, Mackinac, Harbor Springs and Petoskey. Larry is very prompt at replying to messages and we would love to rent from him again!

Girls trip

Property is very spacious and has everything you could need. It is quiet and is on the lake so the sunrises are absolutely beautiful. Departure instructions are easy. Would certainly stay there again. Very nice location nestled in the woods with walking trails nearby. We had a great time!

Wonderfully quiet

Stayed at the house for a fishing trip with 4 adults. Everything was clean and as described by the owner. Great communication and no issues with the property.

Burt Lake 2024

This was a great spot for our family vacation week. Excellent layout of the home, with good space & amenities. Enjoyed the sun room for playing games. Would have liked fewer trees in the yard on the water side for less acorns coming down & more sunshine. The dock is a bit dangerous due to age. Overall great location that worked well for us!

The best week ever!

We loved this house, property and location. Truly a serene and peaceful place to stay. We stayed for a week and kept our rented pontoon boat on the dock. It was the perfect week.

Family Get A Way

We had 12 people in our group. We were very comfortable with the accommodations. We brought our pontoon boat and kayaks. Enjoyed the fishing. Hot tub was nice. Took a trip to Mackinac Island, Headlands International Dark Sky Park, and Jack Pine Lumberjack show. All were a lot of fun.

Christmas Gathering

Our family met at this cottage to celebrate Christmas. We found the cottage to be way above our expectations! We had plenty of room to spread out! It was clean and well cared for. We would love to return here next December!

Great location!

Had five of us for our annual fish trip on Burt Lake and couldn't have had a better location and home. Property was clean and ready to go. Larry was great with communication. I highly recommend this place!

Better than imagined

We’d never spent time on Burt Lake, and it was just gorgeous. Great boating and kayaking, and super quiet. The property is secluded, the house is spacious and well-equipped, and the view of the lake is awesome. The hot tub was a fun bonus. The photos and descriptions are accurate, but the reality was even better than we expected!

Nice lakefront property

My friends and I stayed here mid-May, and the house was exactly what we needed. There are lots of bedrooms and beds, which allowed some flexibility when some of our friends were on the fence until the last minute about coming. The layout worked well for a medium sized group (a large and very comfy sectional couch for hanging out, a large dining room table with a second table in the sun room, two full bathrooms). The beds were comfortable and the whole place was clean. We also cooked several meals there and the kitchen was one of the better stocked I’ve seen in a rental. My only complaints are (and these are fairly minor but may be helpful to know): 1) The blinds on the windows do nothing to darken the rooms, so it was really bright by 6:30 am. For us lighter sleepers, it meant we weren’t getting enough sleep. 2) The interior door locks (in the bedrooms and bathrooms) are keyed so that you can’t easily unlock it if you accidentally lock the door. Additionally, when the door is locked, you can still twist the handle from inside the room. So, it’s really easy to forget you locked the door and lock yourself out. I had a nice moment of panic at 11 pm when I accidentally locked myself out of the bedroom I was staying in. The owner got back to us quickly and helped us locate the spare key, but I was stressed about locking myself out all week. So, if you can, it’s probably better to just not lock any doors all week. Otherwise, this place was really nice. It was close to Mackinac Island for a day trip and had plenty of space to spread out for the days we were hanging out there.

A slice of heaven

Thank you Larry and Kelley for sharing your beautiful cottage. We had a great time! Our grandchildren had so much fun in the water and they loved the fact they could walk out to the end of the dock and more. There were 13 of us 8 adults and 5 children we all had room to stretch out. The hot tub was fabulous enjoyed by all the adults. Thanks again.

Even prettier than the photos...

Arranged a Fall vist to this Burt Lake home. Easy "check in", nice informational emails. Convenient to points North and West especially. Clean, open feel to house. We just had two in our party, but plenty of sleeping/living room. Private feel to lot, but easy to navigate the surrounding areas.

Such a nice time!

Perfect. House was great, surprisingly well equipped kitchen, yard, fire pit, small beach, water was shallow enough that I could send my young kids in without having to worry. Everything we needed and more!

Have been vacationing at Burt Lake with my family and friends for over 40 years, and finally purchased our own place. Initially we will not be able to spend the entire summer on the lake, so intend to rent out when not able to utilize.
