To comply with Honolulu vacation rental rules, we only rent once in a 30-day period. You may inquire about a shorter stay if our calendar is open for a full 30 days.

Warmest Aloha ........You have found the 'Star of Hawaii' Hale on a private beachside lane. The home, gardens, & pool, are private surrounded by lava rock walls. Just a few steps down the lane, with no streets to cross, is the world-famous Kailua Beach.

This 4B/3B home offers separate entertainment and sleeping areas. The main level has 3B/2B with 2 queens and a set of twins in the bedrooms plus one sleeper sofa. Upstairs is a large 600 sf private suite. King bed, bath, kitchenette, and living area. This design offers couples and families privacy and flexibility. The house has a fully equipped kitchen and family-sized dining room. You have ocean kayaks, boogie boards, beach and pool toys, beach chairs, ice chest, stroller, a pac-n-play, highchair, and other amenities for a perfect vacation.

Living spaces are open to the pool and gardens. The house has that 'Hawaiian' feeling of bringing the outside in - welcoming you to the islands.

Kailua town for shops, restaurants, and groceries is a 10-minute walk. Honolulu, Waikiki, and the Airport are a 25-minute drive. Kailua Beach Park with para-sailing and windsurfing rentals is just down the beach. Walk along the beach to the Kalapawai (Green Market) for morning coffee and a little something.

We will provide details on accessing the house once your booking is complete. Check-in time is 3 p.m. & check-out is 10 a.m. Rates are higher for Holiday periods.

My family enjoyed the home very much. The house perfect for us. We loved the yard, pool, and the outdoor dining. We also loved the short walk to the beach...the kids had a blast using the boogie boards. Staying at the home allowed us to meet the newest member of our family...which is my 6th grandchild. We would definitely stay again

This property really is the star of Hawai'i. It was so beautiful, convenient to the super markets, restaurants and best of all the pricate access to the beach. The beautiful rooms are so lovely, washer and dryer are a godsent not to mention all the awesome beach toys

Incredible stay in Kailua!

My extended family had an incredible stay at Pat's home in Kailua! We were 5 adults and 5 kids ranging in age from 2-11. The house had wonderful shared spaces in which to hang out but was also large enough for everyone to have their own private area when we needed some down time. The location is perfect, very close to the beach and a short drive to downtown Kailua. The proximity to the beach and the lovely pool were perfect for young kids. We could easily bring the kids to the beach for a short time and then head back as needed for naps. The pool meant the kids were never bored. The photos really don't do justice to the beautiful garden that Pat has created in her backyard. It feels like an oasis. Pat's home was very well-stocked with kitchen appliances and beach gear! There were even kayaks though we didn't get a chance to use them with so many young kids. I would highly recommend Pat's home and am looking forward to hopefully returning some time soon!

Great property walking distance to the best beach on Oahu

This property has everything you would want for a stay on Oahu. It's located very close to the best beach on Oahu, with all the amenities, and even a separate apartment for multiple families. The host was very responsive to all of our inquiries, and was very quick to respond and help us out when there was a brief power outage. Highly recommend.

Fun and relaxing time on the beach.

Everything about the stay was amazing. The instructions and communication prior to arrival were emailed, complete and clear. The property was clean, stocked with basic necessities and lots of unexpected pool and beach toys. The private beach was amazing. Would definitely go back to this location.

Great location but house has some challenges

Positives - The home has a great location close to the beach. The kitchen is very well equipped and we didn't lack for anything to prepare meals. The pool was nice along with the yard and they had plenty of beach towels. Challenges - The home is run down and could use some major updating and cleaning. The bathroom mats were stained, dirty, and should be replaced. The gutters were clogged with leaves and when it rained the water just poured off of the roof on to patio/eating area. We couldn't use one of the couches that folded into a bed as the mattress was so dirty (I notified the caretaker and she did order a new mattress, but it came too late for us to use the couch). The beach chairs were very worn and one was ripped completely. We did purchase a new chair and left it for the next group. The entire home just seemed "tired" and not serviced. I notified the caretaker several times and she did respond quickly and tried to remedy the issues. Some cement tiles fell off the pool wall and when I showed them to the pool man, he mentioned that the owner knew of the issue and was trying to get the tiles to stay on but without luck. Due to Covid, the caretaker did not meet us at the property, so there was a lot of texting back and forth to figure out the lights, wifi, etc. It would have been very helpful to have written instructions about how everything worked when we arrived.

We loved the house and location.

All was great. Kepola was very kind and helpful. The house was beautiful. The location of the house was perfect. Loved the short walk to the beach to watch the sunrise. The pool and lanai were wonderful. We enjoyed our Thanksgiving dinner there with all our family. The house was very well stocked. Had all we needed. Overall a terrific experience.

The inside of the house, especially the kitchen is furnished and equiped very good. We were travelling our Family (2 adtults 3 kids) with two friends, and we had plenty of space. We used the separated room on the first floor as a fourth sleeping room but lived all together down in the main part of the house (most of the time outside).Mahalo!

Reviewer Comments: We stayed at the Star of Hawaii to celebrate our upcoming 50th anniversary with our family of 8, including 6 adults and 2 children, ages 12 and 10. This place fit our needs perfectly! It’s a short 4 house walk down a private walkway (keyed gate) to one of the best beaches and has a great backyard pool(water toys, towels, beach chairs, all provided). The house was clean, well equipped and close to restaurants and other attractions. The outdoor seating and dining areas were fantastic. We basically lived there when we weren’t at the beach. The lock boxes made key management easy for us all. Kepola was great to work with. If we were planning another group vacation to Oahu, we would definitely stay here again.

The house was spacious with plenty of living areas, chairs, couches, tables inside and plenty of chairs and sitting/eating areas outside by the pool and hot tub. The garage was full of beach toys and coolers and the private beach was a short walk away, just a few house down the road. I couldn't have asked for a better space and location!!! The kitchen was stocked with cooking supplies and the closets were full of linens, beach towels, and bath towels. I have lived on Oahu for 2 decades and this neighborhood is truly one of the most beautiful on the island.

Wonderful place

This was our second stay at this house, having had a great time last year. It’s great to be able to walk to the beach, or swim in the private pool, or relax in the hot tub. Kitchen is large and well equipped, so we had lovely shared meals with our large group. The beach is magnificent!

It's an easy walk to the beach, no streets to cross. Walk past 4 houses and you are "there"—no loading up cars.
The garden, lanai, and pool are private and promote a serene, peaceful feeling. Relaxation is easy. The house is comfortable for families and has mesh WiFi to support remote workers with excellent coverage.
