Family-favorite rental nestled in the woods at the top of the Wintergreen Resort

The Blue Ridge Mountains are calling you to this 3-level, 4 bed/3 bath home for an epic getaway! A family-favorite rental, this home is nestled in the woods at the top of Wintergreen Resort. It brings the perfect balance of comfort & privacy while conveniently located near skiing, golf, & wineries and breweries. Enjoy the woods & a stream from the 180-degree deck with hikes to the Appalachian Trail and a waterfall right out the door.

The house is spread over three levels, giving guests plenty of room to spread out and the kids a separate space to play. The main level has the entry mudroom with full washer/dryer, kitchen, living room with smart tv, master bedroom (queen bed), and full bath with tub. The upper level has a bedroom (double bed), bunk room (sleeps 5), and a full bath with tub. And the lower level has the game room with smart tv, bunk room (sleeps 2), and a full bath.

Enjoy the peaceful fully-wooded view from the 180-degree, 2 story deck overlooking the backyard stream. The upper deck has a dining table seating 8 and a gas-fire pit area with seating for 6. The lower deck also has a gas firepit with seating for 2.

The HideAway at the Waterfall has been enjoyed by hundreds of guests since 2021! While it's under new property management as of September 2023, past reviews are available upon request.

This home also has access to the Home Owners pools at Chestnut Springs within the resort (94 Timber Camp Drive) and Rodes Farm in the valley (Stoney Creek). There are also two freshwater lakes with swimming nearby. Lake Monocan is a 20-acre lake and park operated by the resort (239 Camping Ridge Lane) that offers a small beach, oversized slides and trampolines in the water, and kayak rentals. Sherando Lake Recreation Area is also nearby. Known as the jewel of the Blue Ridge Mountains, families enjoy picnicking in this shaded and woody area, while relaxing on the sandy beach. Golfing available at Stoney Creek.

Leaf peeping in Wintergreen

This house had everything we could have wanted for a weekend in the mountains. A hiking trail to a waterfall is 400 ft away, making for a nice morning walk. The host was easy to get in contact with and provided information on the area. We would stay here again!

Fall Family Mountain Weekend

We really enjoyed this property. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well outfitted with cookware. It was nice to have shampoo/conditioner and body wash in all the showers as well as trash bags, dish soap etc…all of the needed items at our disposal. We thoroughly enjoyed the main floor deck and the gorgeous views.

Fall mountain getaway

Home was clean, comfortable, and true to photos. Check in process was clear and easy. Gorgeous location nestled in Wintergreen ski resort. Loved the decks overlooking the trail to Shamokin falls below and viewing the leaves- such a peaceful and quiet place. My young adults love the pool table and darts. Kitchen and coffee bar is well furnished with everything a family would need. Many great day trips and restaurants close by. I imagine it is a lot of fun when the slopes and tubing are available. We would definitely return to this home in the future.

Wonderful Home

Great home & great location! Everything was clean and had everything needed in the kitchen. We had 11 of us stay (including 9 teenagers!) and there was plenty of room…. Teenage kids loved the game area and the outdoor fire pit. Only “negative” was not being walking distance to the slopes BUT it was a short drive. We had 3 cars and had no problem parking. Property manager was awesome and responded to my questions super quickly.

I highly recommend this lovely cabin in the Wintergreen Resort. Located near the top of the mountain, it’s very quiet and we only heard squirrels. A short drive takes you to the restaurants on the resort or out to the many wineries and breweries in the area. The house has a little atrium at the entry which was really convenient when unloading our things. Another door takes you to the main level of the house with a well-stocked kitchen with everything you could need, along with a family room, dining area, full bath with toiletries, and large queen bedroom. Downstairs has a pool table and bunk room; upstairs has another full bathroom, a bedroom with double bed, and another bunk room.The outside decks are awesome, with the main level being our favorite. It has a seating area around a gas fire pit and separate outdoor dining area. We spent a lot of time here as the weather was in the mid to upper 60s. There was plenty of room for our dog to play with her toys and nap. The home has a dog crate (we brought our own), a couple of toys, and an outside bin for poop bags. There is a trailhead close by that is great for taking walks and tons of space around the house to let dogs out. We really enjoyed our short stay and wouldn’t hesitate to book this home again.

When we visit from PA, we love to spend time hiking, tubing & gem mining at the Adventure Center, playing pool & darts in our game room, & relaxing in the quiet of the back deck.
