Great location & well cared for home

One of the most well maintained vacation homes I’ve stayed in. Very comfortable, clean and the perfect mix of availability by the property owners and privacy. Beautiful view of the lake, great location and feels bigger than the pictures. Would stay again!

Perfect Location

This house is absolutely perfect, especially if you have your own boat and it's just steps from the beautiful lake. The house is perfect for couples or family, the hot tub is a plus. Very clean and very well kept property. I will be coming back here for sure!!

Property was conveniently located close to a boat ramp with private dock. Home was very clean and organized. Communication was great!

Fall Get Away

The property itself was exactly what we were looking for. We had no trouble finding the house and getting in. The surrounding neighborhood was beautiful, however there was confusion with weather or not we had the ability to walk down to the lake as there were several “no trespassing” and “private property” signs posted. We had difficulty figuring out the heat/air, but the weather was fine enough that it wasn’t much of a problem. The hot tub was incredible and one of the best features of the house. The accessibility of a washer and dryer was a big help as well. Anywhere that you are trying to go is a little bit of a drive. The town of Hawley is close by, but at least 15 minutes away. Be mindful for use of the fire place, the owners prefer avoiding use during inclement weather. We had no problem contacting the owners, they always responded within half an hour max. We all enjoyed our stay and would recommend the property to others.

Great getaway!

Beautifully executed VRBO getaway. Recently updated home with everything you want to actually feel like you just got home. Property in front of house leading down to the lake is a bonus, we sat at the fire pit every night and sat out under the stars, then back to the hot tub to relax before bed. Dock for the boat was set up well and easy access to launch from the marina next door. And finally I would like to say thank you to Gregory and Sophia for providing us with a wonderful place to get away. Side note: Gregory responds to your every question very quickly, I know because I asked a lot of questions.

Lovely property // Full Review Below

The property was even more updated than the pictures show. Inside and out everything looked great. A couple of things to note - the washer/dryer are a very small economy unit, can only run one at a time but they did work well. The home was very well supplied with things like soaps, paper towels and toilet paper. The bath and bed linens were great! The grill is very nice and they had great grilling tools. The kitchen was missing some essentials though - we had to buy spatulas and wooden spoons as there were virtually no cooking or serving utensils. There were no baking dishes at all. Just two cookie sheets, some small pans and two saucepans, and two very large serving bowls. We made it work though and next time I would just bring some disposable aluminum dishes. The stairs to the dock/lake access are very steep and rusted and the dock itself really needs to be replaced. There's no ladder either so swimming wasn't really possible. So it was disappointing not to be able to access the water in that way more. We loved nearby Promised Land State Park, and Shuman Point Hiking Trail. The hot tub was a huge hit and really made the house! We highly recommend the Dock Restaurant for lunch/dinner and Anthony's Pizzeria/Deli for pizza, as well as Coutt's and Cocoon Coffee shop in Hawley! They made an amazing birthday cake for our daughter and it's just a really cool place for breakfast and coffee. If the dock situation were better we would definitely return for a future vacation.

Quick getaway, but many memories

The cottage is 100% modernized and in terrific shape. The sun room is terrific, but the enclosed room over the hot tub on the other hand makes the house! The bathroom and shower are very nice, and the kitchen has everything you should need. There was a decent amount of parking which was great. The Webber grill is awesome and we definitely used it for a few meals. We have very little to say wrong about the house other than some minor inconveniences. The sunroom fan light was not working, and the power outlets in the same room were also not working on the hot tub side which made night time very dark in those two rooms. We would stay here again.

The is property was immaculate and beautifully kept. There wasn’t one thing that I would change on the property. Even the neighbor was kind and helpful! We had an amazing time and will definitely rent again soon.

Weekend on the lake

Hot tub was really wonderful- the doors of the bubble open up so you can have both and indoor outdoor experience. House had so many towels and all the cooking basics a person needs. Large frying pan/wok would be the only item I would want to see added. Thanks for letting us rent your house!

Not on lake

The property is not lakeside as the listing states. It is across the street from the lake. Half of your view is of the lake. The other half is of the neighbor’s house across the street. There was a shared dock to store and launch our kayaks. The wobbly board to get to the dock was a liability waiting to happen. You can enjoy wine by the nice hot tub, but be prepared to bring your own wineglasses and corkscrew. We contacted the owner to let them know that there wasn’t either available. The owner said that they did not provide that type of thing. Also, if you want privacy in the tub, get into it late at night and keep the lights off. The entire tub area is glass and open to the neighborhood. The hot tub room is too hot to use during the day anyway. The property was very clean when we checked in. We did not receive instructions on how to enter the unit until a day or two before our check-in date. It was very nice to have sheets and towels provided so that we didn’t have to bring any. We could not find pillowcases for the front bedroom, so we grabbed the pillow cases from the middle bedroom. The pots and pans could have been a better quality, but were definitely usable. We did not receive a warm feeling from the owner as we have from the many other owners with whom we rented from VRBO/Home Away. We felt it was all business.

Was a very clean and lovely house . Everything thing you need to enjoy yourself.

Loved the location very nice clean house . I would definitely stay here again . Loved the deck outback an the hot tub! Plenty of lights to see the deer right out front ! My family of 5 definitely enjoyed this house fished off the dock an had a nice fire . Can't wait to go back!

Wonderful house, beautiful and very well maintained. Very clean and has everything you need for a great stay at the lake. Boat slip, great place to picnic and have a fire by the lake. Nice hot tub. Can’t say enough good things about the place. Landlord very nice. Will definitely will return.

My family and I had a great time at this home! Our first impression upon arriving was how new and clean everything was! The exterior was well maintained and the interior made us feel right at home. Kitchen provided all the expected amenities and then some! Based on previous reviews, we could tell they took heed to suggestions and made changes/upgrades as needed. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. We loved the outdoor space and the hot tub. The glass enclosure for the hot tub space had a beautiful view of the lake. The house comes with a boat dock which was perfect for when we rented a boat! The fire pit was right near the water which was awesome! The owners were extremely responsive to our messages. We definitely plan to rent here again!

A nice stay

We enjoyed the house. It is clean, updated, & has everything you need. The owner gave us a quick tour of how to work everything and where we could enjoy the lake. He is very nice. We loved the grill! You can tell they try hard to make your stay the best it can be. The hot tub was nice to enjoy. The only thing that would make it even better is to have hooks in the bathroom for towels to hang up, hooks near the hot tub for towels, & a cookie sheet. Other than that, it’s a perfect house to spend time to relax and enjoy the scenery!

nice property, but not sure its worth the money

Cost us over $1200 for 4 nights in this small, but clean rental. Check in not until 4pm - not sure why it takes 6 hours to clean the unit when the owner lives next door. Lacking kitchen essentials such as cereal bowls and a cookie sheet. Did come with sheets, which was nice, but not detailed in the listing (so we lugged ours all the way up there). You can see the lake across the street a tiny bit through the trees. Have to cross a street to get to dock and fire pit area- a little confusing as to what part belonged to our house. Not the best internet reception. In general not a lot to do in this area without a boat- 4 nights was enough.
