We absolutely LOVED our stay at Sunset Serenity. This is such a special spot for a family getaway. The cabin was spotless and it was one of the most well-stocked rentals we’ve stayed in. Including tons of toys and kids gear which we appreciated. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals together, and we especially loved using the outdoor Traeger grill on the private deck. We spent so much time outside fishing, kayaking, and enjoying the views of the lake…. Especially at sunset! The fall colors were gorgeous and the property felt so secluded… even though Crosslake is only about 10 min away. Tony and Rachel were gracious hosts and we look forward to coming back again with our family!

Thank you so much for choosing Sunset Serenity for your family getaway! Rachel and I are thrilled you loved the cabin. We work hard to keep it spotless and fully stocked, so it means a lot that you noticed, especially the toys and kids' gear. We want families with little ones to feel right at home. We're so glad you got to enjoy the Traeger on the private deck, along with fishing and kayaking right off our private dock. Fall on Kego Lake is truly special, and those lakefront sunsets are exactly why we named the cabin Sunset Serenity! It really is the best of both worlds: secluded and peaceful, yet just minutes from Crosslake's shops and restaurants. Next time, be sure to warm up in the sauna after a cool day on the water. It's a favorite in every season. We'd love to welcome your family back anytime! Warmly, Tony & Rachel

My northwestern guests! Thank you so much for choosing Sunset Serenity for your family week! We’re so glad the space worked well for everyone — from having room to telecommute comfortably to the kids enjoying the kayaks right off the dock. That quiet, peaceful lake view is exactly what we hoped guests like your family would get to enjoy, away from busy streets but close enough to everything on Kego Lake. We’d love to host you and your family again anytime! Travel safe back home!

Awesome cabin on a beautiful secluded lake! Wonderful amenities: sauna looked brand new, the bed was super comfy, great coffee set up and Traeger grill. Loved the classic MN cabin vibe inside with all the pine. Place was spotless! Super nice to only be 12 mintues from Cross Lake town.

Thank you so much for the glowing 10/10 review! We’re thrilled you enjoyed everything Sunset Serenity has to offer — from the brand-new sauna and cozy pine cabin interior to the comfy bed, Traeger grill, and coffee setup. Kego Lake’s secluded, beautiful setting combined with being just 12 minutes from Cross Lake town really does make this the perfect private lakefront escape.

We wouldn’t hesitate to come back to this cabin! It was clean and organized. The beds were very comfortable with fans in every room even though we found the inside temps to be very comfortable. The kitchen was great. We really enjoyed the boats as you can paddle to two small islands and explore. There was a relaxing fire pit area with gorgeous sunset on the lake views. My kids enjoyed being able to catch and release fish right from the dock. There were a ton of extras like yard games, inflatables, roasting sticks, fishing rods, firewood, games & puzzles. They had a lot of baby gear on hand, too, so if you are traveling with a baby, I’d definitely contact them before you loaded up your car.It was a great layout for our dog as we could keep her on the main floor easily (we just put two Rubbermaid tubs we used packed stuff in to block the stairs going up). They had gates on the deck with a fenced in potty area so she could hang out with us when we ate our meals on the deck. The shaded dog park in nearby Crosslake was also a big hit. There is a nice public beach in Crosslake if your kiddos want to play in the sand. Don’t miss the cute thrift shop and delicious coffee & ice cream at The Yellow House. Mini-Golf nearby looked fun too! The host was very responsive and kind! You won’t be disappointed in booking here!

Wow, thank you so much for this thoughtful review — it truly made our day! We’re so glad Sunset Serenity felt clean, comfortable, and welcoming for your whole crew, pup included! Hearing about the kids catching and releasing fish right from the dock and paddling out to the islands is exactly the kind of memory we hope every family makes here. Hearing about it was very cool! We work hard to stock the cabin with the little extras — games, yard toys, fishing gear, baby gear — so guests can just relax and enjoy the lake. Thanks for noticing that (and calling it out!) Your tip about the dog-friendly deck setup and the Crosslake dog park was so helpful, and we love that you found The Yellow House too! My wife and I take our oldest son there for ice cream treats when we make it up to Kego! We’d be honored to host you and your family (and your pup!) again anytime. Thank you for choosing Sunset Serenity — safe travels until next time (hopefully your daughter can catch the one that jumped in front of her!) PS - we stocked clothespins today - thanks for the feedback!

We’ll be thinking about our time at Sunset Serenity for a long time. This light filled cabin is graciously appointed with comfort in mind. It’s surrounded by trees and every window in every room is a view of calming green. Our bedrooms had king size beds and luxury bedding that made for a pampered experience. It has a modern design with comfort height countertops and a well appointed kitchen that had anything we needed plus updated appliances, washer dryer and a Trager grill. All the comforts of a modern home. We were impressed with the numerous thoughtful small details: plenty of dry firewood, marshmallow forks, games and toys, floaties, kayaks, fishing rods, etc that said: Please enjoy everything a lake cabin experience can offer. And there are lots of dining options in nearby Crosslake to explore. Several serving walleye dinners! It was easy to sink into the beauty of Minnesota and deeply relax to the quiet sounds of wind in the trees and loons calling on this peaceful lake. The cabin and fire pit face west and offer a spectacular sunset show. Our hosts were very welcoming, always available and happy we were having such a memorable stay. Thank you Tony and Rachel for an unforgettable family vacation.

To our wonderful INAUGURAL VRBO guests: Thank you for such a beautiful review! It means so much to know Sunset Serenity gave you that deep, unplugged relaxation — the loons calling, wind in the trees, and those west-facing sunsets over the lake are truly why we fell in love with this spot ourselves. We put a lot of thought into the details — from the king beds and updated kitchen to the kayaks, fishing rods, and Traeger grill — so families can experience everything a Minnesota lake cabin should offer! Hearing that it all came together for your family’s vacation is exactly why we do this. Thank you for the kind words about our hospitality, and for exploring Crosslake’s walleye dinners while you were here! We’d love to welcome you back to Sunset Serenity anytime. Warmly, Tony & Rachel

Love allowing guests to experience the fresh air, stunning views, quiet/secluded lake home property. My wife and I have been hosting for over a year now. Previously through property management company which received over (20) 5-Star reviews. After taking it over at the beginning of 2026, we’ve seen over 35, 5/5 star reviews consecutively. It brings joy to hear from the guests about the small detail of the amenities offered. We’re not your typical MN cabin stay. It is stocked, spotless, filled with cabin games inside and kayaks, paddle boat, & a large water floatie for water accommodations. We hear from guests who have enjoyed the water amenities, to fishing or local hiking. The property is nestled on a secluded lake and it’s a beautiful getaway for family gatherings to friends and bachelor/bachelorette party stays. The location often brings sights of loons (heard daily), bald eagles, beavers, deer, wonderful fishing, and an occasional black bear sighting!

Best view, quiet lake and custom home. Safe and secluded with our own slice of peaceful heaven. Secluded fire pit. Near golf course that is top in Minnesota and rare to have on the very same road as the cabin (Kego Lake Road). There are hiking and riding trails that are walkable from the driveway. The lake is also a rare Minnesota gem: less traffic than the busy boating chains, two beautiful islands on the lake that you can use our kayaks or paddle boat to adventure to. The woods surrounding the lake are pristine with large pines. It’s a hikers, ATVing, snowmobiling, or fishing paradise. The way the cabin is perched on a hill and the large windows view west - it’s often a great recipient for phenomenal sunset viewing; from the cabin, the fire pit or from the newly installed dock.
