Location...and that's about it
Great location, but otherwise a bit of a dump, with a misleading posting and poor management.
First, note the rental unit is only the bottom half. Top unit is used by the owner for storage and the large building in back is a different rental altogether. Posting could be a bit clearer on this point.
Pros: Location. Just a few houses from the beach, and at the end of the Dewey strip, so you really are in a good location. Just note that the parking is not really protected/off the street if that matters to you for security (parking in back is for back unit only).
Cons: Posting is misleading, place smelled bad, it is not well-built, and the property managers are shady.
As noted, it could be clearer that the top half and back unit are not part of this rental. Back unit is steps from your backdoor, so you run the risk of being in the middle of a frat party. More importantly, the "futon" is about the size of a love seat (note how the pad hangs over the frame), and can not be used as a bed by an adult. You're better off sleeping on the couch. Pretending the futon is a bed is very misleading. Could be good for a kid, but note that it is in the sunroom, so very bright and hot in the morning. There were also no pillows or blankets for it.
The place also had a very bad smell when we arrived. We tried opening windows (although we then had to deal with a lots of flies), but even after 3 days, it didn't really disappear, and that's before the frat party out back got going.
The walls are paper-thin (you can hear people rolling over in bed in the next room or getting up to use the bathroom), so hopefully you are on intimate terms with everyone else. In addition, the electrician must have been drunk when he wired the place. Nothing made sense (e.g., a switch in the master bedroom turned on a light in the kitchen), and several switches are hidden behind furniture. Could be a fun game for kids, but we couldn't figure out how to turn some things on even after a few days.
Finally, note that the property managers are very shady and disingenuous. Expect them to dodge phone calls and emails when it suits them (i.e., once they have your money), to want to handle payments outside of VRBO, and to use any pretext for additional fees (5 min late checking out is the same as an hour late, with massive fees later taken from your security deposit even if they tell you otherwise at the time - ask why a place needs to assure you your security deposit will be refunded).
