The Space
This spacious and serene retreat is ideal for families or close friends. Begin your mornings with coffee on your private deck surrounded by nature and river views and end your evenings stargazing under clear night skies. This thoughtfully designed cottage can comfortably accommodate up to six guests.
River Retreat offers plenty of space for gathering both indoors and outdoors and is equipped with air conditioning for your comfort. The kitchen features a beautiful quartzite countertop, cabinet storage, and is fully equipped for preparing meals. It is stocked with coffee, tea, creamer, sweeteners, individual salt and pepper, cooking oil, paper towels, garbage bags, dish soap, and basic cleaning supplies to help you settle in with ease.
The living room and bedrooms are equipped with Vizio Smart TVs, three in total, allowing you to stream your favorite shows through major apps such as YouTube, Netflix, and Hulu using your personal account.
Each bedroom features comfortable gel memory foam mattresses and is outfitted with four quality pillows in both medium and firm options. The property includes three queen beds, providing comfortable sleeping arrangements for all guests.
We provide shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, hand soap, and toilet paper for the bath. The Cottage also includes a modern stackable washer and dryer with laundry pods and fabric softener sheets provided.
Outside, guests can enjoy a propane grill and firepit with fuel supplied, along with a wood-burning fire pit stocked with logs and a fire starter for your first fire. The private deck, lawn area, and yard games create the perfect setting for relaxing and spending time together.
If you are interested in kayaking, canoeing, or paddleboarding, rentals are available just ten minutes away through Skyline Maine Adventures at the Hampden Marina. After your time on the water, Kimberly’s at the Marina offers a great menu or Marsh Island Kitchen is brand new and just up the street. Both have plenty of space for your group.
We take great pride in offering our newly renovated cottage that is clean, and comfortable with a relaxed decorated coastal feel, along with attentive, high-quality hospitality. Whether you are spending time together at the cottage or returning after exploring Maine’s beautiful seaside towns, we want your stay to be seamless and enjoyable. We live nearby and are always available if you need anything during your stay.
Other Things to Note
Guests will find ample parking available in the driveway, situated at the front of the Cottage, ensuring easy access for guests throughout their stay.
The Cottage is equipped with portable window air conditioning units to keep you comfortable during warmer months.
One well-behaved dog is allowed.
Guests have full access to the entire home, yard games, grill, and lawn area. The only restricted areas are three locked storage cabinets.
Please note that the Penobscot River is known for strong tidal currents that can be swift and hazardous. For safety and insurance reasons, direct river access from the property is not permitted.
We have two Cottages that can be rented together. Please explore our other Airbnb listing if you are interested in booking for a larger group.

Please make sure to take trash to the enclosed trash bin by the parking area of Cottage on the Cove

Direct river access is not allowed from our property due to insurance restrictions.

Please let us know if you damage something or something isn’t working the way it should so we can fix it for the next guest.
