The home was beautiful and full of personality. Each area was beautifully decorated and very clean. This is definitely a family friendly home and I hope that the next family to rent the home enjoys their stay just as much as we did.

We loved the house! It was such a fun house to stay in. It is so accessible to the canal path to ride or walk. The nature center next store was an added bonus!Our host Tom quickly returned messages. He was kind enough to message us the day we arrived to make sure we arrived safely and to let us know to contact him if we needed anything. Loved the prism stickers on the windows. So fun seeing all the prisms on sunny days!Will definitely keep this house in mind if we need to go back to NJ!!

This is an interesting house with a great yard. Host was terrific. If you like cookie cutter and have no sense of humor, this is not your house. If you like quirkie, unique and can laugh at squeaky floorboards and the uniqueness of a very old house, you will enjoy.

Staying here was fun-- pretty location, neat old house. The gathering space was kind of tight, tho. More comfortable furnishings would've made the experience nicer. Some things were dirty (dishes/utensils weren't clean, dining room has a greasy patch on it which left us feeling a little cautious and grossed out). Wish there was some ziploc bags, alum foil, plastic wrap, paper plates. The plates/bowls provided weren't microwave safe, the oven wasn't working (the owner is attentive and helpful, we just didn't realize oven was not functional till later in the last night so didn't bother asking for help.) Not enough outlets since old house and noticed there were no smoke detectors? If the space had better furnishings in general the stay would've been that much more comfortable. We made do-- it was a pleasant stay overall.

The home is quaint and was clean, but badly needs new mattresses, bedding, and pillows. All rooms were musty and allergic. I think cleaner window air-conditioning units/filters would help. The suggestive paintings in the bedrooms are uncomfortable for teens. The family we went with was so uncomfortable that they booked a hotel. Communication was terrific.

The house is a historic house (over 200 years old) and all of the paintings in the home can be seen in the photos we provide in the listing.

This is a charming old house. Beds were comfortable. Ample space for a family of 6. We were in town for a wedding and didn’t get to enjoy all the activities at the house, we would come back again.
