With 4,500 sq ft. of total living space and stunning views from every corner, Emerald Phoenix Estate is more than a luxury vacation rental—it's a romantic California coastal experience that is second to none. Built in 1993, the splendor of this estate includes a 3,500 sq ft. grand home with two king bedrooms and two full bathrooms plus two additional spacious, ocean view rooms that offer a king and queen bed for a total of three king beds and one queen bed to very comfortably sleep up to 5 guests. The interior is characterized by an open-concept chef’s kitchen and living area with a fireplace, cathedral ceilings, and expansive bay windows that offer exhilarating views of the Pacific Ocean.
Delight in a tranquil 3,000 gallon Koi pond complemented by a cascading waterfall as you begin to discover all of the amenities that Emerald Phoenix Estate has to offer. A gourmet kitchen, piano, prestigious library, wood burning fireplace, sauna, hot tub, a large game room and flourishing grounds to explore. After a day hiking in the redwoods and exploring the North Coast’s pristine beaches, you’ll love a soothing soak in the hot tub and rejuvenating in the Finlandia sauna. Grill up a delicious meal on the Weber barbecue, dine al fresco on the expansive Brazilian Walnut deck and immerse yourself in the sounds of the sea. The estate’s dining room boasts heart-stirring panoramic ocean views. The chef’s kitchen is well stocked with double ovens, a six burner gas range, dishwasher and a generous array of cooking utensils for preparing your favorite meals. There is ample space to savor the seascape and for dozing off to the susurration of the Pacific Ocean. The left wing of the residence features two stunning ocean view rooms with French doors that lead to the backyard deck and well appointed king and queen beds, respectively. These rooms access a hallway bathroom with a combination bathtub/shower. The right wing of the home features two king bedrooms that share a Jack & Jill bathroom. This bathroom includes a walk-in closet, a dual head ocean view shower and a four person Finlandia sauna.
The family game room is stocked with games, puzzles, children’s toys & books, ping pong table, big screen TV and a pair of comfortable sofas. This recreation room has a full bathroom with a combination bathtub/shower and features a serene courtyard that overlooks the koi pond. A total of 17 skylights provide ample natural lighting throughout the estate.
This opulent custom built estate is thoughtfully styled by interior designer Katherine Fergus of Elemental Design Shop & Real Estate. Katherine curated all of the unique furnishings, tasteful artwork and outfitted each bedroom with the highest quality bedding including linen duvets. The owner's personal collection of antiques and relics add a quintessential flair to the decor. The estate also showcases local art & photography some of which are available for purchase.
The estate caretaker and lovely owner, Daniel resides onsite. He welcomes guests to explore the landscaped pastures that lead to extraordinary views of the Pacific, to wander across the 18 acres and to soak up the magic of the California coastline. He is happy to take you on a guided tour of the property or to give you all the space and privacy you desire.
Outdoor activities include badminton, croquet, barbecue, forest bathing, dining, and ocean gazing. Emerald Phoenix is a natural habitat for a diverse array of plants and animals native to California. You are likely to encounter foxes, deer, ravens, banana slugs (our favorite) and dragonflies on the estate. Explore and discover a wide array of evergreen trees including Redwood, Douglas Fir and Cypress, flocks of shore birds, as well as an incredible variety of ferns and the magical Trillium flower that thrive here in the largest temperate rainforest in the world.
Please note this home does not have any direct beach access. It is located on a bluff 200 ft. above the ocean. The trailhead to Secret Beach is a five minute walk down Stagecoach Rd. College Cove is less than 1 mile away and a quick 3 mile drive will take you to Trinidad State Beach. The seaside town of Trinidad is less than two miles away. Here you can find Murphy's Market, Beachcomber Cafe, Headie's Pizza, Lighthouse Grill, The Trinidad Eatery, Seascape Restaurant and Pier, Katy's Smokehouse, Moonstone Winery Tasting Room, Trinidad Museum, Trinidad Art Gallery, Trinidad Trading Post & Sea Around Us. A five minute drive on nearby Highway 101 will take you to Sue Meg State Park and Moonstone Beach (locals favorite). The Arcata-Eureka airport is less than 15 minutes away.
