For our anniversary, we wanted someplace where we could bring our dogs, relax, enjoy nature, and hike without worry. This home fit the bill perfectly! We were absolutely spoiled by the comfortable, open layout and the lovely private hiking trail right outside our door. We had no problem navigating to the home using Google maps but I do recommend arriving during the day if you can, we were traveling after work and it's easy to forget just how dark it can be out there! Arriving in the pitch dark and finding all the lights with excited dogs in tow was a little chaotic. Other than that, checking in and getting settled was easy, and there were helpful informative signs and maps all over the house. This was a perfect blend of outdoorsy and creature comforts, and was easily the most pet friendly stay we've ever had. The dogs settled in right away and enjoyed wildlife watching through the windows, hiking on long lines, and tracking the deer smells through the property. They can sometimes be reactive when we travel, so the fact that we didn't have to worry about the sounds of traffic or neighbors arriving home, or running into other hikers while out exploring meant all of us got the chance to truly decompress and recharge. The home itself was clean and comfortable with practical amenities and plenty of space, with a large double shower and jetted tub in the en suite bathroom and a great media setup, all perfect for relaxing after a good day of hiking and campfires. Pack a good pair of waterproof boots, some flashlights or headlamps, and plenty of snacks and you will have a lovely time! We definitely felt bittersweet about our trip ending, and we hope to come back for a longer visit soon!
