The Space:

Escape to Rockaway Beach with your family, friends, or even your significant other at this well-equipped and inviting house! Beach Cabin Getaway is a family-friendly beach retreat that features everything you and your guests could need to spend a relaxing and fun getaway. Inside, the open floor plan offers a feeling of true togetherness by combining the kitchen, living room, and dining area. Large windows in the living room will let you all enjoy the gorgeous ocean and beach views without moving an inch from your vacation rental. Curl up on the sofa and get lost in any of the books available or take advantage of the free WiFi to browse on your phone, update your social media, or search for fun things to do. You might as well turn on the flatscreen TV and find something entertaining to watch. Vintage furniture and colorful accents are a great addition to the interior decor of the house. The kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances and everything you need to surprise your group with full-course meals, filling breakfasts, and quick snacks on the go. When it's time to come back from the beach, throw your swimming trunks and bathing suits into the washer/dryer.



What's nearby:

This unbeatable location will grant you direct beach access about 125 feet west, at the end of NW 16th Ave. Pack your beach chairs, umbrella, and towels and head over to the beach to enjoy the breeze and work on your tan. Rockaway Beach has seven miles of pristine white-sand beaches that are open to the public. Other great activities you can try are boating, fishing, crabbing, sea kayaking, and sandcastle building. Less than one and a half miles south is downtown Rockaway Beach where dining options abound. If you'd like something other than water activities and the beach, you can put on your best hiking shoes and visit Rockaway Big Tree Trailhead, two miles south. It's an ADA accessible boardwalk through a remnant of coastal old-growth cedar wetlands right in town. If you follow the road, it'll lead you to the Big Cedar tree.

The cleanliness of the overall house could be improved. Location was excellent. And the communication from our host was wonderful. The biggest drawback were small details needing repairs (cabinet handles, and dishwasher not fully secure), along with overall cleanliness of the floors in bedrooms as well as sheets in the guest bedrooms.

Even with rain all weekend, the beach house was so close to the beach it meant when the rain let up we were down on the beach playing.

Delightful cottage

Quaint cottage a few steps from Rockaway Beach and close to other beach towns. Can sit inside a admire the surf or stroll down the beach to town and get an ice cream.

Simple house with proximity to the beach

We enjoyed our stay. If you are looking for a nice, simple house with nothing fancy, this is a good option. Great location - very close beach access. Would be helpful to have some coat hooks near the front door since there’s no coat closet.

Mini getaway for my family

The place was cozy and homing. We enjoy our short getaway time in this beach house. The beach is so close to the house and neighborhood is very quiet. We'll definitely do it again when summer come. Thank you for the nice and warming welcome!

Nice getaway

Stayed here for my birthday weekend. House was a little hard to find but was great once we got inside. The house had a weird smell but nothing you couldn’t get used to. I think it was just because of the age of the home and furniture. Will definitely stay again.

Rustic family cottage

If you need a brand-new kitchen or trendy decor, or if you need to be in the center of downtown, find another option. But as a family from Kansas, we were more interested in the ocean than the shopping. We were very comfortable in this charming house at the north end of Rockaway. It provided everything we needed, and the beach here isn't as crowded.

Close to the beach, great view but needs a deep clean.

This place definitely needs some updates. The floors were dirty with leftover food from previous guests under the table and couch, toys from someone else under the tv. The coffee table had spilled coffee all over it. I cleaned before we used anything. The shower curtain had mold on it and the house smelled. The view is great and the beach was close. Close to things we wanted to explore.

Great proximity to the beach!

The house is very close to the beach and has a beautiful view of the ocean! The house is older, but it was clean and well equipped. We spent most of our time with family close by so or on the beach. We would suggest getting new deck chairs. The two on the deck are broken and unusable which is a shame because watching the ocean from the deck would have been amazing!

Great little place

Great little place, you can’t beat the location to the beach. We were happy with this place. A note for families with young kiddos: showering is challenging as the shower head doesn’t move much and navigating the spray in a very tiny shower. BUT it works to get clean! :) Recommendation to owner: update the twin mattresses or add a mattress foam top to them.

I’m not sure why this place has the rating it does; I suppose it is due to the location which is excellent. The property has been neglected and needs a deep clean and some maintenance. Also, the photos are not up to date- the sofa is not the same and w/d is a stack unit that is in the way of the shower stall. The carpet and orange sofa are stained. The ceiling fans are filthy and shower curtain moldy . The master closet was unusable because it was full of clutter. The kitchen window does not lock and one of the bedroom windows won’t stay open. Will look for another place on our next trip.

Beautiful Location

Our experience with the house itself and location was wonderful! Amazing beach access and close to town. The house was comfortable and clean and met all of our needs.My complaints are with the property manager and vrbo as a whole. During our stay, our bikes were stolen. They were on the private patio behind our truck which we believed to be safe and secure. Unfortunately, they were taken overnight which was so upsetting and impacted our sense of security. We've tried tirelessly to get ahold of the property manager and vrbo to discuss this situation and have been in a roundabout of being sent to different people. We haven't been able to speak with anyone directly about this which has added to our frustration.

Rockaway Beach with a view!

The view and access to the beach was awesome! And the price was great!!Now for the rest of the story.. the house is small but just right for our fam if 4. But don't try sleeping on the futon.. not comfy!!The main bathroom has a very SMALL but has a new walk in shower, so be ready for a tight shower. The house has what you need and was clean! Maybe a new screen door though?? I would stay again!!
