We bought the property in Dec 2005 as our future retirement home while we were still residing and working in Dawson Creek, BC. It was a successful vacation rental till Feb 2010 when we began a complete reconstruction of the main house and built a new guesthouse (Aerie) on the bluff above.
We made the move to the Sunshine Coast full time in January 2011 living first in the Aerie guesthouse and finally in Jun 2012, the expanded and renovated Pointhouse. The Pointhouse operates as a boutique B&B most of the time but is available for select vacation rentals throughout the year as well as special occasions such as small weddings, meetings or other events.
In 2020 we completed Studio ISO, constructed from two shipping containers onsite that were used during our earlier construction phases. The hybrid cargotecture studio serves as another accommodation option as well as extra space for art, yoga, exercise or massage.
With the interesting guests from all over the world true retirement is still a ways off. Fortunately, life on the coast is a more relaxed pace allowing us more playtime, family time and travel opportunities.
