☆☆ HEATING ☆☆
Stay warm and comfortable all winter long with a powerful central furnace that heats the entire cabin evenly. The bathroom also includes a built-in forced-air heater—perfect for stepping out of a hot shower on chilly mountain mornings.
☆☆ COOLING ☆☆
While we don’t use air conditioning (common for mountain homes), the cool alpine climate, ceiling fans, and refreshing cross-breezes keep the cabin naturally comfortable throughout the summer.
✦ 4WD Vehicle Required (November–April):
Winter in the mountains is beautiful, but it can be unpredictable. From November through April, a 4WD or 4x4 vehicle is required to navigate snowy or slick conditions safely. Storms can roll in quickly at this elevation, and the dirt road may become slippery during winter weather.
✦ Snow Removal:
To keep things smooth for your arrival, snow removal is provided after 3 inches or more of snowfall. You’ll also find a shovel on-site if you’d like to clear small areas during your stay.
✦ Cellular Service:
Because we are in a rural mountain area, cellular signal can be spotty and varies by carrier. To ensure a smooth arrival, we recommend taking a screenshot of the check-in instructions before you reach the property.
✦ Check-in & Check-out:
Enjoy easy self check-in with keyless entry. Arrival instructions will be sent two days before your stay.
‣Check-in is at 4:00 PM — feel free to message us to see if early check-in might be possible (though we can’t guarantee it).
‣Check-out is at 11:00 AM so our cleaning team has enough time to prepare the cabin with care.
✦ Groceries & Supplies:
Most guests stop for groceries on their way in. Evergreen Station is just 5 minutes away down the road for basics, Florissant Mercantile is about 15 minutes, Divide has a couple of small markets (20 minutes), and Woodland Park (30 minutes) offers the largest selection with City Market and Walmart.
✦ Fire Bans & Patio Fire Pit Table:
Open flames aren’t allowed on the property due to wildfire risk. The outdoor gas fire table is available year-round but may be restricted if Teller County issues a Stage 2 or Stage 3 fire ban. If that happens during your stay, we kindly ask that you follow county safety guidelines. Please book with this possibility in mind.
✦ Well & Water:
Our cabin’s well provides clean, fresh mountain water with a crisp natural taste—many guests love it. The water is perfectly safe to drink, and we also provide a Brita filter pitcher in the refrigerator for your convenience.
✦ Laundry:
A washer and dryer are available for all guest stays. We provide free-and-clear detergent and dryer balls to make things simple and skin-friendly.
✦ Baby & Toddler:
Families are welcome here. A pack-n-play and high chair are stored in the lower bedroom closet, and child-friendly plates and silverware are available in the kitchen. Please note the cabin isn’t fully childproofed; extra care is recommended around the spiral staircase.
✦ Pet Policy:
We’re dog people too — one well-behaved dog is welcome. We provide the following essentials:
▪︎ Water and food bowls
▪︎ Waterproof tray
▪︎ Waste baggies
▪︎ Furniture pet protector blanket
▪︎ Lint rollers
◦ Pet Protector Blanket:
Dogs are welcome on the living room sofa when using the provided pet protector blanket. Please keep pets off all beds. A $50 deep cleaning fee may be charged if excessive pet hair is found on bedding or furniture.
◦ Pet Waste:
Please clean up after your dog. A $75 fee will be charged if pet waste is found on the property that has not been bagged and properly disposed of. Waste baggies are provided for your convenience.
◦ Walks & Responsibility:
You’re welcome to explore the mountain neighborhood with your leashed pup and enjoy the beautiful surrounding views. However, pets must not be left unattended inside or outside the property at any time.
◦ Spiral Staircase:
Please note that the spiral staircase leading to the loft may not be suitable for many dogs. A folding stair gate (located in the main bedroom closet) is provided to block access if needed.
✦ Wildlife:
You may spot deer, elk, foxes, eagles, wild turkeys, or even the occasional black bear. It’s one of the magical parts of staying here. For everyone’s safety, please do not feed wildlife and avoid leaving food or trash outside.
