Our nightly rate reflects the rare opportunity to enjoy two fully equipped homes on one private gated estate, offering exceptional value compared to booking multiple separate properties. Seasonal and holiday rates apply.

Please note the owners of this home use security and trail cameras to monitor the home when unoccupied to ensure safety. No cameras are aimed at bedrooms, doors, or windows. Privacy is respected.

Additional Important Information:

Kitchen & Starter Supplies

The home features a fully stocked kitchen with cookware and utensils for preparing meals.

A complimentary starter set is provided, including:

One roll of toilet paper per bathroom
Several trash bags
Dishwashing liquid & dishwasher tablets
Laundry detergent (limited supply)
Paper towels
Hand soap
Shampoo, conditioner, & body wash

These items typically last one–two nights. Guests should plan to bring additional supplies as needed.

Towels and linens are provided. Hair Dryers are provided.

Age Requirement:

The primary renter must be at least 25 years old, must sign the rental agreement, and must be present at the property for the entire stay.

Smoking & Cleanliness:

No smoking inside the home. Please properly dispose of cigarette butts — do not leave them on the property.

Do not leave food or trash outside, as it may attract wildlife.All trash must be securely bagged and placed in the designated receptacles outlined in the Welcome Book or digital guidebook.

Winter Travel Advisory:

4WD/AWD vehicles are strongly recommended during winter months (November–March). Snow chains may be required during inclement weather.
No refunds, date changes, or allowances will be made due to weather or road conditions for guests who arrive unprepared.

Pets:

The home allows up to two mature, well-trained dogs or cats with an additional pet fee of $50 per pet, per night plus tax.

Security Cameras:

For safety and property protection, this home is equipped with exterior security cameras only. Cameras monitor areas such as the driveway and forest area. There are no cameras inside the home.

Caring for the Home

The Barnhouse and Carriage House is furnished with many beautiful and irreplaceable antique pieces. We kindly ask that children are supervised at all times and that the home is enjoyed gently so it may be preserved for future guests.

Cancellation Policy:

Cancellations made within 30 days of booking receive a full refund.
Cancellations made after 24 hours are non-refundable, unless the reservation dates are successfully rebooked. All cancellations are subject to a $50 cancellation fee.

• Due to the size and scale of the home, same-day turnovers are not possible. A minimum one-day buffer is scheduled between reservations to ensure proper care and preparation.

So loved this place. It was very clean, comfortable and quiet. As city dwellers, here we felt such freedom to relax and take in the beauty that surrounded us. The views were breathtaking and our dogs so enjoyed the freedom to run all over the property and explore. To our surprise, there was an EV charger on the premise. Loved it so much, we’ll be back again.

We had a wonderful stay at Barnhouses at Banner Elk! Check-in was easy, communication was great. We brought the whole family and it was the perfect place for everyone. The property is beautiful and truly unique, with incredible details throughout that make it feel both special and cozy at the same time. We hung out by the firepit under pink skies at night and enjoyed time in the hot tub in the mornings. It was the perfect setting to unwind, relax, and spend quality family time together. We especially loved how peaceful and comfortable everything felt—it made it easy to slow down and enjoy the surroundings.Our dogs had just as much fun as we did and loved being able to explore and relax with us. Overall, it was a fantastic stay and a place we would absolutely return to. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable getaway with family (and pets).

We had an absolutely incredible stay at this beautiful property! Jessica was a phenomenal host—friendly, responsive, and truly went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. The location couldn’t have been better, and the home was spotless, beautifully maintained, and fully equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Check-in was seamless, and from start to finish the experience was effortless and enjoyable. We made amazing memories here and can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a fantastic getaway!

Thank you for considering our truly special Barnhouse Estate. We’re a family of seven, and this season of life has been filled with gratitude and new beginnings—our two oldest children were married this year and have begun building families of their own.

Ten years ago, shortly after our youngest daughter was born, we moved from Southern Maryland to Marco Island, Florida in search of adventure, opportunity, and time together as a family. It was a chapter we deeply cherished. After many years of raising four children through Florida college and life in Florida, we found ourselves longing once again for the changing seasons, wide open spaces, mountain lifestyle, and a place where family could gather and reconnect. Our youngest daughter’s love for horses and the equestrian lifestyle also inspired us to seek a setting that honored the outdoors and a slower, more grounded way of life.

Before Florida, we restored and redesigned historic homes on expansive properties in Maryland, and even built a few of our own—each filled with character, intention, and story. When we discovered The Barn at Banner Elk, we instantly felt at home. From the inspired architecture to the thoughtfully curated details, it felt like the perfect place to enhance, share, and for our next chapter to unfold.

Today, we continue our passion for design and restoration through our curated consignment furnishing showroom, design studio, and real estate business focused on creative investment properties. Bringing that same care and intention to this home has been a joy.

We feel truly blessed to share this special place and hope your time here is filled with rest, connection, and meaningful memories.
