Piccola Casa:

"Piccola Casa" is situated on a private property of approximately 3,500 m² and is particularly charming thanks to its wonderfully quiet and sunny location with panoramic views of the countryside and the surrounding mountains. Shops, restaurants, bars, and cafés, as well as the beautiful lakeside promenade, are about a 20-minute walk away.
The cottage, which is approximately 40 m² in size, features two bedrooms tastefully refurnished in 2019 in a Scandinavian style, as well as a small bathroom with a toilet and shower. About 30 m away, in the basement of the main house, is the cozy kitchen-dining area. From here, you have access to a private outdoor seating area of about 12 m² and the adjacent private garden of about 1,000 m² with a gazebo. Romantics will be enchanted by the special atmosphere here, and those in need of relaxation will find the necessary distance from everyday life. The pool, with a diameter of 4.65 m, is available for shared use (open from approximately mid-April to approximately mid-September, weather permitting). Gardening enthusiasts will also find plenty to enjoy. The property features a wide variety of flowers, various types of perennials and shrubs, as well as a diverse selection of fruit trees, such as figs, cherries, quinces, and plums. You can park your car within the gated property. Pets are not allowed.

Tur di Balabiut (= Tower of the Naked Dancers):

This is where the kitchen-dining area of the Piccola Casa is located.

On the history of the tower of the annex to the former spa hotel: In the mid-18th century, Cannobio became known far beyond its borders for “Aqua Carlina,” a healing water spring that still exists today. During the day, spa guests from the international high society and wealthy elite underwent hydrotherapy there, and in the evenings, efforts were made to offer the more discerning among them a somewhat unusual form of entertainment. To this end, a nearby fortified tower was converted for recreational purposes. Dance parties were held where guests first dressed in costumes and then, little by little, shed all their clothes while dancing. Since there wasn’t enough room inside for all the guests, the proceedings could also be followed in the garden via a mirror-based projection system, allowing onlookers from outside to watch as the other guests inside, dressed only in their birthday suits, indulged in the joy of dancing as if on a stage.
