Welcome to Sunset Island Cottage, a truly one-of-a-kind getaway where you don’t just stay near the lake—you stay on your own private island at the entrance of Drowning Creek! 🌊🐟

No crowds, no distractions—just you, your crew, and some of the best sunset views on Grand Lake.

This 2-bedroom, 1.5-bath guest house sits on 2 private acres with a jaw-dropping 340-degree view of Grand Lake. And NO—the owner will NOT be on site, so you have the entire island to yourself.

My husband and I wanted to get away with our dogs for a couple of days to rest and reset. This place did not disappoint!! There was an area that was perfect for our dogs to get into the water and swim. (It is their favorite thing to do.) We did catch a few bass and crappie off the dock. The sunsets were magnificent! There are groundhogs and we enjoyed watching them. We also had a visit from some deer. It was so peaceful sitting out on the deck that I didn't want to go home. We are already planning our next trip.

We had a great time. Cabin was clean and had everything we needed. Fishing off the dock got us lots of catfish and some trout. Quiet relaxing. We saw no one except some fishermen in their boats. We needed a quiet break and we got one. We will be back. Gary P.

The property is wonderful and secluded. It was very relaxing, yet we easy access to everything. In order to be secluded the drive was farther out than other places we have stayed. However, it was worth it. The peninsula has wonderful views, gorgeous, and quiet.The only thing that was a neutral concerning this particular property was the last 150 yards of road to the house. The road base road was slightly eroded so I would recommend only driving it in a truck or SUV. The road is fine with a vehicle with a little height, not a low profile car. The house is close to Big Hallow boat launch, so it is convenient to get your jet ski or boat in the water. Overall I give the property a 5 star rating and will definitely consider staying here again.

Reviews are meant to give feedback to help both the host for improvements and to help future guests decide on a property. Brian left no feedback whatsoever for his rating and we had no response when we reached out for feedback.
