Fishing & Lake Information (Important)
Southwood Lake is a private, members-only lake built in the late 1970s and known for:
Trophy bass
White perch
Bream
Catfish
Our guests are allowed to fish from the bank during their stay — but lake rules must be followed.
Lake Rules:
CATCH & RELEASE ALL BASS (strictly enforced)
Catfish, perch, and bream may be kept
No fishing license required (private lake)
Watch children closely — the lake is large and very deep
If you catch a trophy bass:
Measure it. Weigh it. Have a replica made. Then release it so it can continue to grow.
Fishing access is a privilege we protect carefully so future guests can enjoy it too.
