Located on a large and secluded lot, this lovely dog-friendly cabin is perfect for that much-needed escapade with your loved ones! Enjoy a private back deck equipped with an outdoor dining area, providing the best place to enjoy all of your meals al fresco. The backyard borders the county park with easy access to a variety of hiking trails and the Nature Center. The cozy interior offers classic rustic vibes with all wooded walls and a wood-burning brick fireplace for those cold nights and a flatscreen Smart TV. The kitchen is well equipped with a full-size fridge, stove, oven, microwave, coffee maker and grinder, and toaster oven. Other amenities include cable TV, a DVD player, a washer/dryer, high-speed internet and free WiFi, perfect for working from home, distance learning, and streaming. For summer comfort, the home offers a mini-split A/C system in the living room and multiple portable fans

Fantastic get away! Highly recommend staying here. Very peaceful and close enough to town if you need to make a run. Fully stocked kitchen, extra blankets when it’s cold. We will definitely be back!

The home was lovely. It was pretty clean. It’s a rustic home so there were some bugs, could use a spraying. It was in the process of management changes so communication could have been better.

We opened the door to a warm, cozy inviting cabin. Loved the modern kitchen & bathrooms, and comfortable beds and rustic feel with knotty pine paneling in the living room and large fireplace. We had a fire both nights, watched a dvd snd felt like we were staying in a relative’s house. We will be back to this lovely place.

The cabin was outfitted with all the essentials and very clean, cozy and welcoming. The area was very quiet and great for some relaxation. Our 2 small dogs also were quite comfortable and alerted us to each squirrel in view! The description of a steep driveway was accurate, luckily no snow to make it slippery. The stairs to the entry were wide with handrails on each side.

We loved this property! We try to spend Thanksgiving in Idlewild every year so if this property is available, we are definitely going to try to grab it again!! Perfect set up, loved the cozy set up,the great fireplace and the rooms were extremely comfortable. We will definitely be back!

Our family loved our stay at the Elkhorn Retreat! Upon entering, we were welcomed by soothing music and a very clean relaxing space. There were comfy beds for everyone in our family of four--with 2 college boys, this was a must! There were plenty of blankets, pillows, and towels. The atmosphere was sufficiently rustic, with two modern and spacious bathrooms. The location is a mere 5 minute drive to town and the hiking trail is just down the road

Peaceful private mountain getaway

Super close to town but you feel miles away. The best part is you do not have neighbors right next door giving this place some really nice private relaxation. Highly recommend!

Perfect Cabin

This is a great little cabin - nicely furnished and equipped. The cabin is in a quiet neighborhood, basically next door to the Idyllwild Nature Center, and is very private. The bird show on the back deck was great. Absolutely would stay again.

Fun Birthday Weekend Get-Away!

My friends and I absolutely loved staying the weekend here! The weather was amazing over the weekend and having the living room AC unit was amazing when it got just a little warm. The cabin was perfectly furnished and the rooms were so fun! The outside deck was perfect for eating breakfast or simply sitting around and catching up. My friends and I definitely plan on returning to this cabin!

Mountain cabin perfect for rest and relaxation

We stayed close to Idyllwild Pines Camp so we could visit with campers and friends during day and retreat to alone time at the cabin for restful sleep. Cabin was perfect for 4 of us adults.

Great location

This place was just amazing. Not too far from town but also not too close. It was quiet and tranquil. Enjoyed the deer in the back. Would highly recommend and stay here again.

Lovely Cabin

We had a wonderful time at Elk Horn Retreat. We stayed 5 nights and loved every minute of it. The cabin is beautifully decorated, well furnished, and extremely comfortable. The location is very private and an easy drive to town. Highly recommend this cabin for a stay in Idyllwild.

Private, peaceful, and close to town

Absolutely lovely location with pretty much no neighbors in view so really private. We sat outside morning and evening to enjoy the smells of nature and watch all the birds and squirrels. You feel so far from town but it was a super short, quick trip to Idyllwild town square. Fantastic hiking is also super close! The house itself was perfect! Felt comfy and homey and had a fully stocked kitchen (if you want to cook). We would absolutely stay here again!

Thank you for such a beautiful cabin. And the location is amazing. My family and I enjoyed our short time there. The stairs are a bit much if you have elderly or people who don’t do stairs, but worth it!!
