The Former Zwieslerwaldhaus Customs House: Bickels Vacation Apartments

The picturesque village of Zwieselerwaldhaus lies at the foot of the Falkenstein. One of the most beautiful buildings here is the Alte Zollhaus, built in 1926 from natural stone, brick, and wood. It is situated at the edge of this tranquil village in a completely secluded location, right next to the Hochwald forest, in the heart of the Bavarian Forest National Park.
A total of 5 very cozy vacation apartments are available to our guests, which we, the Bickel family, deliberately manage in a family-friendly manner (the Arber and Pepe apartments are rated **** by the German Tourism Association). Since 2019, we have been a National Park Partner and a member of the Bavarian Environmental Pact. Out of a sense of responsibility toward our unique natural environment and future generations, we operate the property sustainably and in a climate-neutral manner. Since we source our drinking water at Zwieslerwaldhaus from our own spring (500 meters as the crow flies from the house), which is of mineral-water quality, we now also offer our guests the convenience of a soda maker in their apartment (Sodastream). In this way, we not only want you to enjoy our fresh, living water but also to help reduce plastic waste

By the way: The entire house can also be rented by groups (prices upon request) and accommodates up to 18 guests. The slightly smaller apartments, Silberberg and Falkenstein, are particularly well-suited for hiking enthusiasts—whether singles or couples. These apartments can also be rented for extended stays at special rates.
Equipped with every comfort, our Arber, Pepe, Falkenstein, and Silberberg apartments feature high-end amenities and, above all, plenty of space to unwind and relax. The on-site sauna invites you to unwind after skiing (cross-country trails start right outside the front door; downhill skiing at Großer Arber is 10 km away) or after hiking. For cyclists, there are plenty of covered and secure parking spaces available for mountain bikes. Pets are welcome upon prior notice. A large garden with space for playing and barbecuing is, of course, available to our guests. Some apartments feature covered outdoor seating areas. Deck chairs with cushions are, of course, also provided. Our small scented garden, with native herbs and magnificent roses, invites you to daydream and linger. Fruit trees and berry bushes are scattered throughout the garden, and our guests are, of course, welcome to snack on their fruits.
And to stay connected to the world, free Wi-Fi is available. Modern flat-screen TVs with satellite reception, radios, and DVD players round out the amenities in the spacious apartments. We’ve put together a small library and an extensive collection of games for everyone to enjoy. Since December, our property has been powered by climate-neutral energy. This is made possible by a modern pellet heating system supplemented by solar power and green electricity.
