The house was not as nice as we were expecting it to be. Not worth the price for such an average house. It was dirty with mold on the showed and sinks. The yard had trash and left over toys all in the yard. We had to call maintenance on the first day to fix the drainage in the sink. I personally had to clean out gunk and hair. We were just really underwhelmed.

GREAT BALD HEAD ISLAND TRIP BEFORE THE HOLIDAYS

We really enjoyed our visit to 7 Scotch Bonnet! Very nice neighborhood and best sunset views ever!The home had everything we could want and the golf cart was amazing - driving around the island was a lot of fun.Thanks for sharing your home with us.

We unfortunately didn’t have great weather, it was unusually cold and rainy however the house was really cozy and in such a wonderful location it was still a great break for me. I come to BHI 1-2 times per year and will likely try to stay in this home again. BHI services team are super kind and welcoming 😊

Great location! Nice home w/ only minor improvements needed

Overall we enjoyed our stay. Several little notes come to mind regarding our stay: 1. Blinds in the home were messed up. Several didn't twist to open or were broken in various places. 2. Golf cart broken and replacement had weird quirks - a broken blinker handle, occasional beeping noises, very inconsistent acceleration or braking. 3. I understand there was a hurricane recently, so some grace here, but just so you are aware, there was a great deal of water in and around the front steps. it made the trash cans innaccessible for a bit as well as something to dodge getting in/out of the house. Also some items in the garage were covered in mud/mulch. 4. i know it was the weekend that all local shops and restaurants flipped to their off-season hours. it would be helpful to have a more updated list of restaurants or expectations of what is open which days. 5. master shower pan felt like it had water damage underneath of it. the floor was squooshy when showering.

Beautiful location

We had a very nice stay at ‘Sailing.’ We loved the ocean view from porch, the easy access to the beach, and the central location of the house to access other areas of the island in the golf cart provided. Additionally we appreciated that some starter supplies of laundry detergent, dishwasher soap, hand soap, and dish soap that were provided. The check in process was easy, and we had good communication from the property management team. A few things would have improved our stay. Kitchen supplies need some attention: poor condition pots and pans, excessive amounts of spatulas, mixing spoons, but no tongs. No wine glasses. The bar stools are unusable due to being too high for the counter. The beach chairs were all broken and unusable except for 2. The mattress in bedroom with en-suite bathroom needs to be replaced, it is sunken and the coils can be felt. Overall it was a nice house, that just needs a little attention and some updates. With those improvements we would absolutely stay there again.

Great location for a couple's getaway

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at this property. It was our first visit to Bald Head Island. We liked direct access to the beach from the house and the view of the beach and water from the top floor. We loved the location for exploring various parts of the island by golf cart. We liked the inverted house plan with the bedrooms on the ground floor and the living space upstairs. The house was very clean. The kitchen bar stools were unusable (too high - the legs need to be cut down by 6 inches). Kitchen supplies were ok - there were some spices, and other dry goods from prior guests (which is always nice), and starter supplies like a roll of paper towels and a small bottle of dish soap. Cookware was ok - enough to make due. It lacked a good sized bowl - for tossing a salad or for popcorn. The beds were just ok - one had somewhat of a depression in the middle; the other was very squeaky - any movement made a good bit of noise. There were beach towels and at least two of the beach chairs were functional (another two were broken). The golf cart is in good condition. I nearly missed critical communications from the property manager as they did not use the VRBO messaging system, which is what I was looking for. Fortunately, I caught the messages in my secondary email account before it was too late. They were very responsive and professional once I connected with them. We would definitely consider staying here again. 4.5 stars overall.

Another Stress Erasing Week

This is our 2nd visit to Sailing. The 1st for our 30th annv and this one for our 35th. We were joined by my sis & hubby for their 30th. We loved the smaller home! The peace & quiet, spectacular views, and mostly empty beach was just what we experienced the first time around! We will NOT wait 5 years to come back to Sailing!!!!

We love staying at Sailing and is our second time staying here. The home is beautifully furnished and was perfect for our small family. Our 7 year old loved all of the decor inside which provides for lots of fun learning. Great beach views and would highly recommend.

Beautiful property

Beautiful property. Only complaint was the tv in the living area went out on the 2nd day of our 3 day stay. The replacement tv didn’t work either. Positive sorta was my husband left his suit in the closet and I was impressed with the fact they mailed it for free. Until we got the 20 charge. I guess I figured no tv for 2 days that was the least they could have done. Oh well!! Beautiful home!!! Would definitely recommend!

Peace and quiet

Sailing was on a great location. Clean and well stocked Oceanfront view from upper deck The beach was easy to access No problems with the property. Gas grill would have been nice Charcoal one available Would definitely stay again !! Only 1 bike but you can rent them on the island

Great location

Beautiful place, however I would recommend for a small young family of five or less. Place was beautiful, but for three big teenagers, the loft does not close up, meaning it can be loud. The views though are great, and everything was updated. View off loft was beautiful. Kitchen up to date also

Sailing

Kitchen is very limited in cookware. Cleaning crew needed to vacuum floors (sandy floors) and empty coffee pot. One set of porch furniture was broken (black wicker furniture). Should be discarded. Great location, view, and beach access.

Dog friendly and great location/view

Loved staying there. Great view, great screen porch with fabulous breeze, fenced in area for dog to go out (but wish it was totally closed in). However my dog is not adventurous so it didn’t really matter but could for some. A bit a trellis could correct that situation. Will be returning in September
