We spent a couple weeks in Ruidoso to escape the Texas heat, and this house worked great for us! Our adult kids joined us on weekends, and there was room for everyone, plus even a fenced back yard for the doggies.
The house is centrally located close to grocery, restaurants, and shops, and we often went for late-afternoon walks along the golf course (after golfers left). The Cedar Creek trails are only minutes away, so we took our dogs on a hike there or one of the other many trails outside of town daily.
Altho an older home, it was very clean, with nice hardwood floors and all the kitchen items needed. We were thrilled to find a Bumper-pool table under the game/poker table, but it couldn't be used as the bumpers were loose. Hopefully it will be repaired for the next guests. The main suggestion we have is to put a King-sized bed downstairs. We did not want to go up/down stairs where the master bedroom is located, so we each used a bed in the two downstairs bedrooms -- a Queen bed is just difficult for two adults to sleep comfortably when they're used to a King, as most people are.
We especially enjoyed our mornings on the back deck in the cool mountain air. We hung up a new bird feeder, so there were many happy birds eating sunflower seeds, hummers lapping up nectar, deer and elk browsing along the creek behind the house -- plus wild horses grazing on the golf course at dusk! We certainly look forward to staying here again!
