The Space

This 2-bedroom, 1.5-bath home blends historic character with modern functionality. Original Riordan Mill wood floors and wood-clad ceilings reflect Flagstaff’s heritage, while updated systems and thoughtful design make for an easy, comfortable stay.

The layout works well for couples, families, or small groups traveling together, with a jack-and-jill bathroom between the bedrooms and an additional powder room for convenience.

The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking at home, and the living space centers around a gas fireplace—ideal for cooler Flagstaff evenings. Air conditioning ensures comfort during warmer months, a rare and valuable feature in the area.

The updates in this VRBO are beautiful. Very nicely arranged and staged. Kitchen was very well stocked with supplies and amenities. Washer and dryer allowed us to catch up on laundry. Host was very responsive when we weren't able to get in through the lock, and got it resolved within 30 seconds of texting her. A few things to note, the location is next to a very busy road. While trains are a norm in Flagstaff and you can barely hear the soft rumble, the road noise was loud throughout the day and night. The floors, while absolutely gorgeous, left us with splinters and my daughter with a chunk of skin out of her foot due to the nails that weren't completed sunk into the floor.

This home is located in Flagstaff’s historic Southside neighborhood, one of the most walkable and connected areas in town. We chose this location for its proximity to Northern Arizona University and downtown—guests can easily walk to restaurants, coffee shops, and campus, while still being in a residential area.

It’s an ideal base for exploring Flagstaff, whether that means heading out to nearby trails, spending time downtown, or simply enjoying a slower pace for a few days.

This home was taken down to the studs and fully renovated as a true labor of love, with a focus on quality, functionality, and materials that stand the test of time. The design leans modern rustic—natural wood, warm finishes, and a cohesive palette—but the goal was never just aesthetics. It was to create a space that feels cozy and comfortable to live in.

Because the home was approached as a primary residence rather than a rental, it offers a level of thoughtfulness and ease that’s often missing from more standardized listings.
