Saint Vincent and the Grenadines is home to 32 beautiful islands and cays, and Bequia is one of its most treasured inhabited islands and a favorite destination for visitors from around the world.

I was born and raised in Bequia, an island known for its rich sailing heritage, traditional whaling culture, breathtaking black and white sand beaches and the sweet, delicious Bequia plums. Growing up surrounded by the sea, I developed a deep love and respect for the ocean, a passion that eventually led me to become a sea captain.

The people of Bequia are warm, welcoming and friendly. Hospitality is part of our way of life, and visitors often leave feeling like family. Our local cuisine is full of flavorful delicacies that reflect our culture and the bounty of the sea, making every meal a memorable experience.

One of the things I cherish most about Bequia is the sense of peace and security. It is a safe island with little to no crime, where neighbors know and care for one another. It is the kind of place where you can leave your doors and windows open, breathe in the fresh sea breeze, and enjoy the golden sunsets and warm sunshine without worry.

Every day in Bequia offers stunning views of the sparkling Caribbean Sea, rolling green hills, and colorful boats gently sailing across the harbor. Living here has taught me to appreciate nature, community, and the simple joys of island life.
