You arrived at 10:00 p.m., after the published check-in time. You never disclosed that you were bringing any dogs, let alone three large dogs, despite listing and house instructions that requested advance notice of all animals. When asked how the dogs would be kept, you stated that one would remain outside in a cage. That answer confirmed what the unit itself makes obvious: the tiny house does not have space for three large dogs. An outdoor cage is not a safe plan on this property. Bobcats and coyotes are present in the area. That is why the on-site kennels were offered—at no additional charge—not as hostility, but as a secure alternative after you arrived without notice and proposed leaving a dog unprotected outdoors. You were given clear instructions on where dogs could be walked and where they could run off-leash inside fenced areas. Those instructions were ignored. One dog was allowed off-leash outside the designated areas and urinated in a section of the property where dogs are not permitted. One of your dogs also immediately frightened a boarded dog already in our care. Dog waste was not picked up. We continued to find and remove piles for days after your departure. Even after we let you use the kennel, you left your dogs in the kennel for the entire day and returned well after the time you had indicated, further neglecting the animals. The listing described a dog-friendly stay subject to stated conditions. Those conditions were disregarded. The subsequent change to our pet policy exists because of this reservation. Other guests no longer have the option you treated as optional. The tiny house is a separate dwelling on a working property. Activity on the grounds is neither concealed nor a surprise to anyone who reads the listing with ordinary care. An offer to cover furniture does not authorize an undisclosed multi-dog indoor stay, nor does it waive the advance-notice requirement. Drinking water was available. The property is supplied by filtered well water, which was disclosed in the listing. That water is potable and cleaner than typical bottled water. The claim that no drinking water was provided is incorrect. A glass light cover did not fall during any prior stay. We had received no comparable complaints before your arrival. Given the manner in which the animals were handled on the property, we can only conclude that the fixture incident was a consequence of that stay, not a preexisting defect in the home. Vrbo may suspend or terminate a traveler account for prohibited conduct and disregard of house rules. Whether the platform does so is its decision. This property will not accept a future booking from this party. We regret that the stay was poor. We do not regret enforcing the rules that protect the animals in our care and the property itself.
