Casa Brigitte is a cosy detached country house, renovated true to style and with much loving care, offering all modern conveniencies: comfortable double beds with orthopedic mattresses, central heating in winter and air conditioning in summer; satellite TV; lovely country house kitchen with modern equipment: cooker with devitrified glass, stove, microwave, refrigerator with freezer unit, toaster, coffee machine, water boiler. Of course there are a washing machine and an ironing board. At wish the owners supply an iron. In the walled and partly roofed patio there is a generous barbecue area - an invitation to enjoy your barbecue. More,there is a nice garden (400 m2).
The house is completely separated from all other houses or neighours.
The guests may use the whole country estate - that is, Quinta Do Sobral's 4.5 ha - with its vineyards, its old chestnut and cork oak trees, to relax or go for a walk.

The pool (6 x 10 m) is situated in the centre of the country estate.
All our guests are invited to have fun there and enjoy the wonderful panoramic views.

The estate is peacefully situated in an idyllic and rural landscape, even though only 10 minutes' walk from the centre of Figueiró dos Vinhos with its charming historic centre. You will find nearly everything you wish: shops, supermarkets, reaturants, well maintained municipal gardens and a lot more.

We offer a guided tour of the estate to all our guests!

The region really is inviting:
Gentle wooded hills - Picturesques towns and villages with their friendly inhabitants - Mysterious castles and old churches - everything still to be discovered!
4 sites of UNESCO's World Heritage may be visited in nice relaxing daytrips.

More, the unspoilt nature with its numerous rivers and lakes is perfect for all types of water sports. The various river swimming pools with always clean water are a rare speciality of this area.

We had a great time. This is a old farmhouse on the edge of a small town. Very quiet and a good way to see real Portugal. The owner Bridget is very friendly and keen to help solve any concerns. She provided fresh coffee and bread every morning. The pool area was clean and very relaxing. The property is a small holding which means grapes, olives and sheep. If you are interested Bridget is very happy to explain. We found the location peefect for touring the area, and even a day trip to Porto. Highly reccomend.

Great stay at Figueiro dos Vinhos

Great stay and support at Figueiro dos Vinhos. The kids loved the big outdoor pool and we quietness of the farm. Fantastic support from the owners with the daily breakfast and tips.

Beautiful and relaxing setting

The house was very peaceful, in a beautiful setting. It made a great base to see Coimbra and other sights, and then to sit on the terrace and enjoy a glass of port and the views in the evening. Really enjoyed our stay there!

Wonderful cottage let down by loud music

Advice: check before booking whether a festival is held in the nearby town. See below why. We were greeted warmly by the owner at the reception (once I found it). The cottage is a short walk away from the main house and pool, but you cannot get there by car. We needed to make a short detour. The arrival is wonderful, with a moving garage door to give access to the property. Very secluded and private. The scenery was wonderful. With pear trees, peach trees, olive trees and a vineyard. We chose the property for the quiet surroundings, but that we were very disappointed in that on our first night. Starting at 10 pm the volume of the nearby festival went up and it was that loud that the noice seemed to come from the neighbor. No surprise that we couldn’t sleep until the festival ended at midnight. This ruined the first and second day for us. Fortunately, the festival ended that day, so we made the most of it. The pool was wonderful, although there are many flies because of the rural area. The house is spacious and cool. There is AC, but we hardly used it. During the night some mosquitos slipped through holes in the mosquito screens, so we proceeded to sleep with windows closed. The wifi was excellent. The owner arranged for my son to hold a small lamb, which made him very happy of course. We did wonderful sightseeing in Tomar. We can recommend visiting the castle, convent and town.

Beautiful home in a serene location

We had a wonderful time at Casa Brigitte. The pool and garden was lovely and the house was beautifully restored. Check in was tricky as there was no sign on the home so knocking on the door felt a bit strange. We were greeted by an associate who gestured for us to go out back towards the tall house that appeared to be Casa Brigitte. We drove down the road to the house and were greeted by Brigitte who appeared quite distraught that we had driven down the road and reprimanded us “What are you doing here? Who are you? What is your name?!”. She indicated that she was afraid we would not be able to reverse down the road (we were… it was a normal driveway) but the message could have been delivered with more tact and grace (and at least an apology for such a prickly welcome). It also became clear that Brigitte was very on edge having our three year old around. She did not seem to enjoy him turning on the light switches, opening the cabinets, or holding the remote control and was sure to let us know several times “not all things are for children, put that down, why must children turn the lights on and off?!” I suspect anyone with small children will have a similar experience but don’t let this deter you because it is a beautiful place to vacation. The sheep were cute, the pool was fun, and the house is beautiful. Brigitte likely means well but her anxiety and communication style lessen the tranquility.

Peaceful and relaxing location run by very friendly hosts

If you want somewhere peaceful to relax and unwind then Casa Brigitte is a lovely place to do just that. Very private and quiet - the house is comfortable with large bedrooms. Brigitte will bring you breakfast each morning if you would like it or you can choose to do your own. Day trips can be undertaken by car to Tomar (40 minutes), Coimbra (40 minutes), Fatima (1 hour) and Batalha (1h 15). There is private, secure parking. The patio is very private and perfect for eating out and evening drinks. One small recommendation we made was to add some comfortable chairs on the patio if you want to sit and read your book for the afternoon. There are two supermarkets in the village and two restaurants and a few cafe bars. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay - a great mix of sightseeing and relaxing in the beautiful weather. Thank you Brigitte for making us feel welcome.

4 erholsame Wochen in der Quinta do Sobral

Geräumiges gut ausgestattetes Ferienhaus innerhalb einer Quinta, mit Weingarten und Olivenhainen in denen Schafen weiden, zentral in Portugal. Schöne ländliche Gegend in der Nähe von mehreren sehenswerten Städten. Es gibt ein gutes und reichhaltiges Frühstück. Unsere Gastgeber gaben unser wertvolle Tipps für Tagestouren, Wanderungen, Einkaufsmöglichkeiten usw. Au top pour des vacances

Nous avons eu l’opportunité d’essayer les deux locations, les deux locations sont parfaitement conformes aux photos. Nous avons pu profiter de la gentillesse, de la disponibilité de la propriétaire ainsi que du calme de l’endroit. En effet situé dans les vignobles et équipé d’une piscine, difficile de faire mieux. Je recommande les deux locations. Encore merci aux propriétaires !

Entspannter Kurzaufenthalt

Wir haben mit unserer Tochter im August 2019 vier Tage im Ferienhaus Casa Brigitte verbracht. Das Ferienhaus hat unsere Erwartungen voll erfüllt. Es ist geräumig, sauber und sehr ruhig. Es gibt einen schönen Freisitz vor dem Haus, wo wir jeden Morgen das bis an die Tür gebrachte Frühstück genießen konnten. Auf dem Anwesen gibt es einen schönen Pool und in der Nähe sehr gute Einkaufsmöglichkeiten. Die Unterkunft liegt günstig, um Ausflüge zu den Sehenswürdigkeiten Mittelportugals zu unternehmen. Wir haben uns rundum wohlgefühlt und können die Unterkunft sehr empfehlen.

Lovely host, perfect location, beautiful pool and an adorable cat

We found Casa Brigitte very easily, using our sat nav. The front of the house, confused us as it does not look the same as the photo. Our holiday home was behind the main house. We were met, by a very friendly cat and I rang Brigitte, who met us at the back of her home. She suggested getting into our car and taking us on, a short drive which took us up a short lane to the rear of the property. We then had our own access through an electronic gate. Our home was separate, as shown in the photo on the page. There are steps up to the house and a small patio area and a covered area in the shade with tables and chairs. We walked into the kitchen, which has the basics, you will need to cook a meal. Washing machine is in the cellar, which we used once. A step from the kitchen, leads into the lounge/dining area, with a TV, wood burner and comfy sofas. Both bedrooms are a reasonable size with lots of wardrobe space , bedside lights so that we could both read. The bathroom was fine, with a nice shower. The pool is a short walk away, past the sheep who were happily grazing. The pool house has a shower and toilets. If you love cats, you may well have a visit from a beautiful friendly orange cat called Zamson. Brigitte was very welcoming and spent time, telling us about attractions nearby as well as places to eat. She provided us with an excellent Breakfast (Coffee, Juice, rolls, cheese, ham and Jam) each morning which started the day well. We visited Convento de Cristo at Tomar, lovely and peaceful. Not busy, so we had time to wander around. Tomar itself was decorated, as they had just celebrated festa dos tabuleiros (Festival of trays), had a nice wander around there and some lovely cakes. at Café da Praca. Stopped for lovely ice cream at Orquestra de Sabores 2 by the river. We only ate out locally one evening at Restaurant Tricana, ample portions of local Portugese food. Two of us ate a lovely meal, at a total cost of 42.00 Euros including wine and soft drinks. We enjoyed the pool and the area and only wished we had stayed longer. We met Brigitte's husband, the day we were leaving and their beautiful Collie (Trainee Sheep Dog) Oscar. We were very sad to say farewell and would recommend this lovely house to anyone wanting to stay. There is also accommodation available in another property as well as rooms available in the main house. An ideal location for a family get together, but you do need a car.

Beautiful little cottage in a quiet setting

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Brigitte. The cottage was immaculately clean, comfortable, very quiet and equipped with everything we needed. Breakfast delivered to our door each morning was something we looked forward to. It was always fresh and plentiful. The homemade jam was so delicious! Brigitte and Bernhard were great hosts. We especially appreciated their help in dealing with a toll ticket we didn't know what to do with. They were full of local knowledge, very approachable and friendly. Thank you both !

Plénitude et confort

La maison et le domaine ont été conformes à nos attentes. Accueil, confort et propreté du gîte au rendez-vous et le petit plus du petit déjeuner chaque matin, très appréciable. L' espace piscine est de très bonne qualité et parfaitement entretenu. Le positionnement géographique nous a permis de visiter facilement la région du nord au sud (en partie par le train de Pombal ou Coimbra). Nous conseillons donc vivement ce gite pour découvrir le centre du pays.

Excellent!!

Casa Brigitte is a warm, welcoming, beautifully clean house that we didn’t want to leave. It is well equipped with everything you need for a relaxing holiday. It has private courtyard areas but with the option of using the pool and grounds of the stunning Quinta do Sobral. Bernhard and Brigitte are excellent hosts. We found them extremely friendly, helpful and always approachable. We would recommend Casa Brigitte to others without hesitation.

Insgesamt enttäuschend

Zugegeben: Unsere Anreise war auf Grund von gesundheitlichen Problemen, nachweisbar abgeschickter Ankommens-Email und diesbezüglich vergeblichen Telefonaten so wie verzögertem Eintreffen der 2. Mietzahlungsrate nicht optimal. Somit waren die Vermieter nicht über unseren genauen Ankunftstermin informiert, der 1 Tag später als die vorab avisierte Anreise- und Mietzeit war. Trotzdem fanden wir ein Ferienhaus vor, das offensichtlich nicht auf unser Eintreffen vorbereitet war: Fehlende Handtücher wurden schnell ergänzt, die Küche am nächsten Tag geputzt - und der TOTAL verschimmelte Kühlschrank gereinigt. Frau N. bemühte sich sichtlich um Schadensbegrenzung, allerdings begleitete uns das Thema Schimmel dann doch gegen unseren Willen durch die Urlaubstage. Wir haben sowohl die Küche wie auch das Bad nur für die allernotwendigsten Verrichtungen genutzt und baten um Abstellung der lauten Lüfter des sich halb im Erdreich befindlichen Kellergeschosses (ebenfalls mit Schimmelproblematik). - Das Objekt selbst ist mit viel Gestaltungswillen versehen, das Wohnzimmer und die beiden Schlafräume sind gut eingerichtet. Wunderbar und explizit zu loben ist die sehr gepflegte Pool-Anlage mit ebensolchem Sanitär-Haus. Wir nutzten diese mit Freude. - Das von uns mit gebuchte Frühstück war recht mager: Kaffee, Butter, Marmelade, je 1 Sorte Wurst und Käse, Saft und 4 Brötchen (an einem Tag 6 Stück, am letzten Tag wurden die Brötchen ganz vergessen) und entsprach damit nicht den Erfahrungen anderer Gäste. Leider zerbrach uns (der Wind) ein einfaches Plastik-Tablett, dessen Ersatz mehrmals gefordert und uns dann doch erlassen wurde. - Der Ort Figueiro dos Vinhos ist ein netter kleiner Ort mit überraschend guter Infrastruktur und Straßenverkehrsanbindung. Die Lage eignet sich für das Kennenlernen Mittelportugals. Ein empfehlenswerter Tipp ist der Besuch der Christusritterburg in TOMAR. Wir verließen das Objekt 1 Tag früher als vorgesehen mit positiven Eindrücken der Gegend und enttäuschten Gefühlen hinsichtlich der Quinta und deren Eigentümerin.

perfect regeneration

Wir waren im Mai/Juni das erste Mal in Portugal und hatten 12 Tage Zeit das Land und die Leute zu entdecken. Die Casa Brigitte ist ein liebevoll renoviertes Haus - inmitten des großen und sehr gepflegten Anwesens - ruhig gelegen. Ausstattung und Größe der einzelnen Räume sind großzügig und in sehr gutem Zustand. Positiv erwähnenswert ist der Frühstückskorb, welcher morgens gefüllt mit Brötchen, Käse, Wurst, Kaffee und herrlicher selbstgemachter Marmelade zum Haus gebracht wird. Und vom schnellen Internetanschluss waren wir auch begeistert. Weiters befindet sich inmitten des Anwesens zwischen Hecken und Blumenbeeten ein sehr gepflegter Pool mit einem Badehäuschen (mit Toiletten), an dem man einen ganzen Nachmittag die Seele baumeln lassen kann. Das Gastgeberehepaar ist sehr hilfsbereit und zuvorkommend und hat uns mit interessanten Ausflugstipps versorgt. Ideal ist die günstige Lage in der Mitte von Portugal. Wir konnten in ca. 1.5h Fahrt von Ausflügen ans Meer (Nazare), ins Landesinnere (span. Grenze) bis zu „Städtetrips“ (Coimbra, Aveiro) alles genießen. Auch ein Tipp ist das angrenzende Dorf Figueira mit Cafe‘s und 2 guten Restaurants. Oder einfach mal dem Dorftreiben - bei einem guten Kaffee und typischen portug. Mehlspeisen bei Renata - zu zusehen. Fazit: Wer Ruhe und Erholung in ländlicher Umgebung sucht wird sie hier finden. Genauso wie eine Reihe an Ausflügen in die bewegte Geschichte und Kultur Portugals.

Ruhe und Entspannung

Hillus Wir haben im Ferienhaus Casa Ouro für 2 Tage einen sehr schönen Kurzurlaub verlebt. Eigentlich war geplant, dass Casa Brigitte zu mieten (war leider schon belegt). Wir wohnten in dem größeren Ferienhaus Casa Ouro. Beide Ferienhäuser sind in einem ausgezeichneten Zustand und traditionell mit sehr viel Geschmack eingerichtet. Das Weingut mit Landhaus, den beiden Ferienhäusern, der Pool- Anlage, dem kleinen Korkeichenwald und einem wunderschön angelegten Gelände, bietet Erholung pur, mitten in Portugals Bergen ... und dann wird noch jeden Morgen das Frühstück durch die Vermieterin gebracht... Ein Wohlfühlort den wir gerne weiterempfehlen. In nähere Umgebung befinden sich mehrere Schieferdörfer. Meist kann man die Besichtigung mit schönen Wanderungen kombinieren. Am Ortsrand gibt es einen großen Supermarkt. Das Angebot ist gut... die Preise sind wie in Deutschland.
