The Neighborhood:
Scotland is always an interesting place to visit, it’s a place of mythical creatures, highlands, interesting food, men who wear skirts and whisky. Or better yet that’s what people think about when they hear the name. Modern-day Scotland on the other hand, while still featuring all of the above, offers so much more to those who choose to travel there.
Perfectly positioned for access to both the coast and countryside, Windyheads Cottage is the ideal location to base your Highland holiday.
From the famous whisky trail to endless outdoor activities, this area is certainly one which provides for the whole family.
There are many golf courses at hand, as well as easy access to Pitmedden Gardens, Haddo House and some of Scotland’s most beautiful beaches.
Fishing and boat trips are available from Peterhead and there are many other trout and river fisheries to be found locally.
There are a number of mountain biking, cycling and walking trails near by with a varied level of difficulty however, if you’re looking for something more varied why not visit one of the local castles.
You can find convenience stores, pubs and restaurants close by in the local village of New Pitsligo, or travel further afield to explore the attractions and entertainment of the “Silver City”, Aberdeen, situated approximately 40 miles south.
Getting Around:
Hire a car or take your own. Plenty parking for upto 10 cars and a couple of buses
Other Things to Note:
This property was previously a working farm steading, there are areas out-with the garden area which are unsafe & out of bounds. Where possible these areas have been restricted from public access with appropriate signage.
There is also a deep gully either side of the bridge as you come into the steading which you should also be mindful of if you have children in your party.
