Raven`s Roost- private luxury treehouse with sauna

Unplug your tech and let the sights and sounds of the forest be your muse. Treat your body to the healing powers of a eucalyptus sauna. Cool down in the outdoor shower, stargaze, crack a book, play some Scrabble, colour or write. Sing with the wolves, skate through the forest, canoe, climb, swim, ski or snowmobile from your door to the OFSC trail. The quaint town of Dorset is in the center of one if Canada`s most impressive landscapes. Escape. Exhale.

450 square feet of interior space with 16 foot vaulted ceilings and a lofted lounge. Another several hundred square feet of private outdoor space just for your personal use! Perched on top of solid Douglas Fir timbers and wrapped in cedar with an artsy cedar shake surround. Pine walls and floors keep the space simple so your focus is all about the forest! The treehouse is located on a property with 4 small cabins. RAVEN’S ROOST was designed with your privacy in mind. It is located at the back of the property in an area that is not accessible to other guests. We do not host to children, pets or allow loud music or parties. No one can see in and you shouldn’t see anyone unless arriving or departing the treehouse. The treehouse was built with sustainability, durability and a conscious choice for passive energy consumption and the use of recyclable and upcycled materials when able.

You have full private use of the treehouse and all it’s interior and exterior areas. Feel free to stroll around in the bush. You are welcome to walk anywhere in the property.

I live on site and am happy to help in any way. I will come say hi at your car if I see you arrive but other than that I will respect your privacy. My very friendly dog will introduce himself.

The wee town of Dorset is quaint and stunningly beautiful. The treehouse is situated between Nordic Inn Rd and Hwy 35 just below the Scenic Lookout Tower, a 5 minute walk away. There are neighbours several hundred feet in each direction and you will get some vehicle noise during the day from the highway , more so in Summer. The nights are quiet and still. Robinson’s general store, the LCBO and restaurants are 2 min drive. We are right on the OFSC snowmobile trail and a 5 min drive to ATV trails. Adventure all around!

We have plenty of parking. I would just need to know in advance if you plan to bring a trailer as well so I can advise you where to park. There are lakes all around. A 2 min drive will have you taking a nice swim and a 12 min drive to the beautiful Dwight Beach.

Please Note:
The outdoor shower will not be in operational once freezing temperatures threaten to arrive or they remain potentially low in the early Spring. The lines will freeze and the valve will blow. It can be enjoyed from Spring to late Fall.
First and foremost we want to to relax and enjoy. However, we do have a few rules.
No smoking or vaping indoors, no kids and no pets! If you show up with pets or kids or more than 2 people, you will not be permitted entry.
Do not touch the knobs on the fireplace and do not put anything on or too close to the fireplace. The heat is 100% controlled by the white thermostat on the wall in the kitchen. If you touch the knobs on the fireplace you will lose the pilot light and have no heat!
No wax burning candles.
No cleaning fee means that we ask you to do your dishes, wipe down surfaces and clean up after yourself.
No need to strip the bed.
We would appreciate it if you removed your shoes inside.
We’ll take care of your garbage but please separate it into the categories stated in the treehouse.
Do not put hot pots and pans on the countertop and use a cutting board when using knives Please be mindful of the neighbours and time when listening to music. Never leave your campfire or the firetable unattended!Douse your campfire with water when you are done. Do not burn logs/paper or cook food or marshmallows on the firetable.
Don’t leave food out at night as it will attract many different animals and although they will have a fabulous time, they will make an huge mess! If you need to remove any charred logs or ashes from the sauna ONLY put them in the provided bucket with the lid on. Never throw them in the forest or near the sauna.
