The miller’s apartment—the former miller’s original home—is located in the central building of the Goldbachmühle, where much of the original structure has been preserved. It occupies the entire first floor and features a kitchen, a bathroom with a shower, an open-concept living-dining area with a tiled stove, and three additional bedrooms, one of which is a walk-through room. The miller’s apartment has a floor area of approximately 100 square meters. The miller’s apartment is heated exclusively by two tiled stoves and, due to historic preservation regulations, has no central heating. One of the bedrooms features a modern heated mirror to provide additional warmth on colder days.
The apartment offers direct access to the garden. The spacious garden offers plenty of seating and lounging areas and is available to all vacation apartments in the building. In the fenced-in garden, you’ll find a newly built outdoor sauna as well as plenty of space for playing, barbecuing, and relaxing. A lockable room for bicycles and strollers is available for all apartments.
The Goldbachmühle is located in Überlingen-Goldbach—in a particularly quiet, green setting and only about 400 meters from the lakeside park and the Sylvesterkapelle Goldbach. Guests can use the lake access in the nearby Uferpark free of charge. The downtown area of Überlingen is about a 20-minute walk away via the promenade. The Bodenseetherme and the West Beach are about 800 meters from the property.
The Goldbachmühle, a listed historic building, dates back to the 19th century and is one of the last intact mills in the Lake Constance district. The authentic charm of the historic structure has been preserved, while the interior has been adapted to meet today’s standards of comfort. The Goldbachmühle was carefully restored to preserve the mill’s historical features. Because it has been preserved almost entirely in its original state, this cultural monument vividly illustrates how the building, living and working spaces, milling technology, and hydraulic engineering form a historically functional unit. The mill machinery was extensively restored and upgraded in 2006 and 2007.
