Charming screened porch hang-out, quiet locale 10-min to downtown. Pet Friendly!
Your vacation truly begins as you step onto the airy, screened-in porch — a true oasis at sunset, with a cozy sofa and a dining table waiting for your morning coffee or an evening glass of wine. Then step on through into this fully remodeled 1930s bungalow in Alta Vista, one of San Antonio's best-kept historic neighborhoods. Exposed shiplap walls bring historic charm into every room, paired with an open floorplan and curated art throughout — modern comfort meets old soul, in a 1,700 sq ft home built for slowing down and spreading out.
SLEEP — Three spacious bedrooms and a queen sofabed sleep up to 8, with large, streaming TVs in the living room and two of the bedrooms. The primary retreat features a king bed and bamboo memory foam mattress, while both queen rooms come with extra-comfy hybrid memory foam mattresses — one bright and TV-ready, the other a peaceful, screen-free room with soft honeycomb shades. Every room comes with a spacious closet with built-in organizer, a comfy chair, dimming lights for a soft wind-down, and blackout coverage for sleeping in.
BATHE — The bathroom features a dual vanity and an oversized 3' x 6' walk-in shower with river-pebble flooring, a massaging handheld sprayer, and an on-demand tankless water heater — hot water never runs out. Spa-quality shampoo, conditioner, and body wash are provided, along with plush towels, cotton swabs, and makeup-removal towels.
GATHER — The dining table seats up to 8, perfect for family dinners or catching up with friends. The living room comes with a large streaming TV, dimming lights for movie nights, board games, and books for a slow evening in, and the fully-appointed, spacious kitchen makes cooking easy for any group.
UNWIND OUTDOORS — Once the sun goes down, the screened-in front porch turns into the best seat in the house. Settle in and listen to the crickets, and you'll understand why guests linger long after dinner. The fully-fenced, pet-friendly backyard means your furry guests are welcome too. We've got them covered with stainless steel bowls, doggie treats, furniture covers, doggie towels and blankets, and waste bags.
LOCATION — You're centrally located to everything San Antonio has to offer: downtown, the River Walk, and the Alamo are just 10 minutes away, and the St. Mary's Strip dining corridor is just minutes away. Six Flags Fiesta Texas, Lackland AFB, and BAMC are all about 15 minutes out, and SeaWorld is a quick 20-minute drive. Alta Vista itself is a quiet, friendly, family-oriented neighborhood of well-loved and well-kept historic homes — come see why locals consider it one of San Antonio's most charming places to call home, even if it's just for a few nights.

Former professional sommelier turned short-term rental host, I've been an Airbnb Superhost since 2014 — at one point managing 13 properties while maintaining that status throughout, built on genuine care for every guest.
My years as a sommelier took me around the world, with extended time living in Germany, before I put down roots in San Antonio. This city won me over with its layered history and pride in preservation — something that now shapes how I think about my own properties: places with character and story, not just square footage.
Whether guests are here for a downtown wedding, a River Walk weekend, business, or family at JBSA, I love helping them find their version of San Antonio.
Outside of hosting, I'm a mom to a wonderful kid who already talks about taking over the family business — hospitality is something I hope to pass down. And yes, we bleed silver and black: Go Spurs Go.

Welcome to Alta Vista 🏡
The Primrose sits in Alta Vista, one of San Antonio's oldest and most beloved neighborhoods — and the very street where our family put down roots and raised our own kids. It's the kind of place where porch lights stay on, neighbors wave from their yards, and history lives in every tree-lined block.
Built in the 1920s and 30s, the bungalows and cottages here still carry their original charm — deep porches, mature oak trees, and a slower pace that feels a world away from downtown, even though you're only 10 minutes from it. Alta Vista has always been a family neighborhood, and that spirit hasn't changed. You'll find folks out walking their dogs, kids riding bikes, and community potlucks that make this feel less like a "visited" neighborhood and more like a lived-in one.
Just around the corner, you'll find local favorites like coffee shops, parks, and San Pedro Springs — one of the oldest parks in the country — perfect for a morning stroll or an easy afternoon outside. And when you're ready to explore, the River Walk, the Alamo, and the St. Mary's Strip are all a quick drive away. We hope The Primrose gives you that same feeling we've always loved about this street: a place to slow down, feel at home, and make a few memories of your own. 🌼

A lovingly remodeled 1930s bungalow where historic charm meets modern comfort — just minutes from downtown San Antonio.
The Primrose isn't just another San Antonio rental — it's a 1930s bungalow where the owner raised her own family, lovingly and fully remodeled to welcome yours. We preserved the charm that made this house a home in the first place, while opening up the floorplan and updating it with modern comforts throughout.
Here's what sets it apart:
🏡 Historic charm, modern flow — A recently remodeled, open-concept interior gives you the best of both worlds: original character and craftsmanship, paired with a bright, easy layout built for how people actually live and gather today.
🛏️ Space to actually spread out — 3 bedrooms (a king, two queens, plus a queen sofa bed) comfortably sleep up to 8, making it a rare find for families or groups who don't want to feel stacked on top of each other.
🌳 Indoor-outdoor living — A screened porch and a fully fenced front and back yard mean mornings with coffee outside, evenings unwinding after a day of sightseeing, and plenty of room for kids or furry guests to roam safely.
🐾 Pet-friendly, genuinely — Not just an afterthought — the fenced yard makes this an easy, low-stress stay if you're traveling with the whole family, four-legged members included.
📍 Downtown access without downtown noise — Just 10 minutes from the River Walk, the Alamo, and the St. Mary's Strip, but tucked into a quiet, historic residential neighborhood where you'll feel like a local, not a tourist.
🛋️ Comfort details that matter — Central A/C, full washer/dryer, on-demand tankless water heater, gas stove with built-in cast-iron griddle, dishwasher, and Smart TVs, high-efficiency washer and dryer mean this feels like a home, not a hotel.
At the end of the day, The Primrose gives you the character and warmth of a home that's been truly loved — with a fresh, modern remodel to make your stay easy.
