The apartments are located in the best central area of Porto! You are just 4 minutes from Café Majestic, 30 meters from the Chapel of Souls (one of Porto's most photographed tourist attractions), and close to Bolhão Market, with a variety of restaurants ranging from simple to sophisticated, including award-winning establishments. Our building is listed and classified as a UNESCO World Heritage site, along with other historic buildings in the area.



Other important information:

The building has an elevator that accommodates two people at a time. The apartment offers 150 square meters of comfort, with heaters and air conditioning in all rooms. The master suite features an amazing balcony overlooking the lively Rua de Santa Catarina. The location is undoubtedly one of the best in Porto! You are 12 minutes from the Baixa area and the Douro River, where you will find the main wineries, the Lello bookstore, the Clérigos church, and other tourist spots full of history and charm. Take the opportunity to walk around and discover the surprises of the streets and the city's unique and delicious gastronomy.

This was a great property with excellent amenities. It was spacious and clean. We had slight trouble with checking instructions, but these were resolved in a timely manner and we enjoyed our stay.

Great Host, Plenty of Room & Good Location

Centrally located just one block from Santa Catarina and across the street from the Via Caterina Shopping Mall! Mercado Balhao is right around the corner! A mom and pop coffee shop is right downstairs as well as a fantastic little bistro serving excellent rustic Portuguese food. And, there are two supermarkets within one and two blocks. I was able to walk 1-2 miles to some of the attractions including the riverfront, McDonalds Imperial and Livario Lello but we mostly used Bolt. The owner/host Alexandria was so incredibly accommodating to our needs and requests. She goes over the top to make your visit a success. The apartment is very spacious and perfect for 4-6 people.

Not worth it.

While Alexsandra was responsive, she kept changing her mind about check-in/ extra payment for another night. During check-in, the keys were in a different box (with a different code) than what she texted us. We had tried to go through the VRBO app to book extra night, no response. She asked us to bring cash, but changed her mind after we checked in -- she wanted a bank transfer. Since we don't have a Portugal bank account, no bank allows that. We wasted our last morning in Porto trying. For this VERY noisy location, shutters are a must. The bedroom shutters were broken: the bedrooms were LOUD and LIGHT. Alexsandra promised someone would fix them. That did not happen. Our sleeps were terrible for the entire week's stay. The pictures make the apartment look much nicer than it is. The second bathroom is tiny, so poorly designed that it's impossible to shower without getting water all over the floor. Be aware: There is NO OVEN, only a stovetop. There were no instructions for the stove or the washing machine. Lots of back and forth texting to try to understand use. Also no instructions for throwing out garbage/ recycling. Every other VRBO we've stayed at has some sort of instruction booklet. Alexsandra did text recommendations for local restaurants and grocery stores. She also had her son bring over a gift basket, which we appreciated as well.

Dear Miriam, Thank you very much for your visit to our property, as well as all the comments made, as we can always improve the way we receive our guests. The shutters in the master bedroom broke upon your arrival, unfortunately as it was a holiday, and as it was something specific, we couldn't fix it on the same day, however it was sequentially repaired with a new one. We have an induction hob, electric oven and microwave oven in the property. Furthermore, we forward all the explanatory information to handle the stove and washing machine and dryer. Our apologises for being extensive, however the purpose was to be informative and attentive. The tourist tax always gives the option of payment via bank transfer or in cash, whereby you chose to pay in cash. As for the noise, we would like to mention that the mall, stores and markets close at night starting at 21:00. We apologise for the inconvenience, however, we are in a central area and close to everything, so inevitably have the daytime movement of Porto, which is different from a city than a village.
