Summary:

Treat yourself and your family to a much-deserved escapade at this peaceful and comfortable rustic home! This two-story retreat enjoys a prime location on a high bluff overlooking the ocean with a stunning 180-degree panoramic view of the crystal blue waters of the Salish Sea leading into the Pacific Ocean. The property is at Diamond Point, a recreational enclave, with ready access to endless hiking and biking trails, national forest preserves, and the beach.



The Space:

There is easy access to boating, sailing, fishing, and kayaking and it is just a short ferry ride to Victoria and the Butchart Gardens. Wonderful dining is available following a short drive to the scenic port towns of Port Townsend, Sequim, and Port Angeles. Other great local attractions include Sequim Bay State Park, Marlyn Nelson County Park, Larry Scott Trailhead, Fort Townsend Historical State Park, Eaglemount Wine & Cider, Fort Worden - McCurdy Pavilion, and Hurricane Ridge Ski Area.



The home boasts an extensive wraparound deck where you can delight yourself with splendid vistas. On a clear day, you can see Mount Baker, the shipping lanes, and even Mt. Rainier. You can also admire beautiful sunrises and sunsets over the water and at night you can see the lights of Cape George. It is a very quiet and peaceful retreat offering abundant opportunities for wildlife viewing as well, such as eagles, seagulls, deer, wild canaries, hummingbirds, foxes, and raccoons. A lone eagle tree sits like a sentinel at the edge of the bluff, so keep an eye out for it!

Home was clean and sufficient for what we needed. It is a bit of a quirky home and I don’t realize my parents would have to go up and down several stairs. The view was fantastic! Beds were comfy. It needs some updates and a bigger shower, but not a deal breaker for us. Only thing I was disappointed about was a large sky light let in a lot of light in the morning. However, Overall wonderful place. I would stay again.

Well appointed, quiet and private. Loads of wildlife. There was a strong fragrance upon arrival ( like air freshener) but once we opened the doors and a window it was fine. We had a magical time and hope to come back soon. Thank you for sharing this beautiful place.

The view is worth the small issues we had. First is the switchback driveway. Thankfully we have SUV but getting to the property may be tough for sedans. Then the key pad did not work. We had to call the vacation management company to get entry. The place is older and decor is dated and some areas updated. It is a solid space and was nostalgic for the parents. The bedding or sheets were piled and thought we had sand in the bed. The beauty is the deck and the view. The kitchen is stocked and cozy. The bedrooms are dated, dark, and quiet. We loved the living room and had a good few evenings.

The place is just as depicted in the photos! We enjoyed our stay during the Thanksgiving holiday very much. There was plenty of room for our group of three plus a dog - very nice that they allow pets. The view from the living room/kitchen and deck were spectacular.Vacasa was very easy to work with and provided location, checkin/checkout instructions, door combo, etc., precisely when they said they would and followed up with us upon arrival to ensure everything met our expectations.

Very clean and nice, well stocked kitchen. Could use a bbq and table out on the deck would make a huge difference.Also downstairs bathroom is a bit misleading with thinking it has a shower.Overall great place to stay with fabulous views.

Family Vacation

The view from the balcony is breath taking! The home is cozy. The queen and twin bedrooms downstairs are like cabin rooms, but the Master is quite spacious. Deer frequent the yard, and we saw bald eagles every day. We would stay here again!

Beautiful Location

Pros: The view is gorgeous. Yard is fully fenced. Kitchen is well stocked for cooking. No kettle if you are a tea drinker you need to use a pot on the stove. Stove elements were wonky so have to watch your food carefully.. Beds are comfortable. Washer and dryer in unit. For the most part it was really good. Cons— floor upstairs is very loud when downstairs in the bedrooms. Shower is okay… no real shelf so things stored on the floor. Not ideal for my 85yr mom. Downstairs had a funky smell so windows kept open all the time.

Amazing View and Privacy

The location and view are fantastic! Despite having some close neighbors, the house felt very private. The photos accurately reflect the home but it is hard to tell that there are a couple of sets of stairs that might not be obvious in the listing. The driveway is a little steep with sharp turns but easily navigable. Check in and check out was easy.

Beautiful view, clean but older

The home is older, but was clean and comfortable and the view lovely. New flooring and carpeting. The upstairs was great, even though kitchen had no dishwasher.Cons - the only shower is tiny, needs better lighting, twin bed is very hard, downstairs bedrooms are dark and smell a little musty.

The code for the door didnt work. It was solved by a Vacasa phone rep who gave me the code for the key box. The stairs from the entry level to the living area are very difficult for elder clients. The handrails don't come close to ADA requirements. The left is unsable and the right is unusable at the top because the rail is right next to the wall. These steps are very slippery and a no skid strip at the edge would be a great help. The rugs in the bathrooms should have no slip treatment on the bottom.The views and beds were great!

It’s all about the view

The pros: deck and the view….absolutely amazing. The living room and kitchen…comfortable and well equipped. We enjoyed walking down to the beach access road (about a 10 minute walk). We saw bald eagles, seals, and herons. The cons: The primary bedroom had an unpleasant damp dog smell. My son’s bed was so uncomfortable that he slept on the couch for a few nights. Fair but could be better.

Beautiful view and a pleasant secluded stay on the Olympic peninsula. Great view of wildlife. However, Check was challenging; I received no instructions and spent almost half an hour on the phone with the third-party management company to get access to the property. The property was not as clean as could be expected for the price of the listing. The comforters and sheets were covered in human and pet hair and appeared unwashed. There were other small issues with cleaning procedures. The dining room chairs were covered in dog hair. They asked you to wash the dishes but did not provide cleaning supplies. They asked us to take out the trash, but the trash can outside was filled to the brim when we arrived. They expect you to put the towels to wash when you leave. For having so many rules around cleaning, the place was not as you’d expect. Again, it’s beautiful, but with so many issues, it was hard to enjoy our stay.
