Perfect Spot for Our First Family Beach Trip

We loved our stay at this Destin condo! Being on the first floor made access to the pool and private parking quick and convenient, and the private beach was just a short walk away. The condo was clean, comfortable, and stocked with beach chairs, toys, and body boards, everything we needed for our son’s first beach trip. Having a washer/dryer was a big plus, and there were plenty of clean towels (we brought our own for the beach). Overall, a great location that made our family vacation easy and memorable!

Just ok

Be sure and read the reviews before you book. I made the mistake of booking since we planned last minute. I booked then read the reviews and they were exactly right. The place definitely smells like mildew every time you walk in, and I’m guessing it’s because of the carpet. The carpet is disgusting! Another thing we noticed was there wasn’t blankets available for the pullout couch. Sheets were the only thing provided. Honestly that’s the only complaints I have. The location is awesome being that it’s on the first floor. Easy access to and from the beach, pool and parking. I hate to leave a negative review but I feel like if the owners would update it from carpet, to all tile there would be nothing to complain about.

Mixed bag

Overall the location of the unit is great. It’s on the main floor so parking and pool/beach access is easy. The mattresses are old and uncomfortable. One of the twins had two mattress toppers. The carpet is worn and looks gross. The master toilet handle got stuck down and it caused the water to shut off in the whole unit. Property management response times in the app messages was inconsistent at best. The building/pool and beach made up for the dated unit. It truly needs a refresh to be charging too dollar rent like they do.

Great Location- Steps from pool, beach and parking

The location of this unit is great. You are 1st floor and 30 seconds from your car, pool or beach. It is conveniently located next to one of the condo exits but not one that is heavily used so you still have some privacy. I prefer lower level units to avoid elevator waits and save time going back and fort to the room and this location was perfect. The unit inside comfortably fit my family of 5. The decor overall just needs to be updated. This could be an absolute 5 star unit with some updates and personal touches. I’ve stayed in a lot of rentals and this one just felt more like an outdated hotel room more than a home.We had some issues daily with water shutting off due to a regulator in the unit. I was able to fix it after talking to someone but had to do it daily. Overall, I recommend and would stay here again.

This property was exactly as the pictures showed it to be. It was clean and nice with a good view for being on the first floor. We had a great stay and look forward to staying here again.

Beach getaway

Beautiful beach. Chairs and umbrellas great. The grounds are well maintained, pool and hot tub were perfect. Room was clean, kitchen had everything we needed. Check in and directions were a breeze. The communication was done via text and they were very responsive which was necessary as we had a couple problems. We arrived at 9pm and neither bathroom had any toilet paper. Rather a necessity. We also didn’t have ice and realized the next day the refrig was not cooling and we had already bought food. Maintenance did come and fix this around 4pm the third day and by day 5 we had plenty of ice. We also only had 3 wrist bands and travel cards and there were 4 of us. At the pool I just showed my text to beach walk with the number of persons And ages in our Group and they remembered us after the first couple days. Parking is very convenient. We will gladly stay here again.

This unit is very comfortable and such a FABULOUS convenient location to Westwinds parking, grounds and beach. Love the patio and especially the 2 rockers! Nice bright unit with tasteful coastal decor. Will return.

Great Location!

Lobby level condo 30 seconds to pool-heated and hot tub-hot. Last week in December. Great rate. Fortunate booking. Golf on site, just outside door. 3-4 star restaurants within 15 minutes. Had a ball with grandma and grandchildren. Everyone deserves a break today.

Mother in law stay

Perfect for 94 year old mom. Gated, very clean, and the convenience of being on first floor. View was nice. No direct contact with owner. Getting ahold of beach vacation manager was definitely not prompt. Otherwise everything was great

It was a great location, loved being on the bottom floor. Directions to the condo should be clearer. Maybe a link from the initial page to the detailed directions would be great. We got lost because Google maps was not clear and the security guard at the gate did not have a good idea which building it was. However, we did find it. Be clearer about which codes go where. That was misleading as well.

First time

It was extremely clean. It was our first time to Florida. We had no water on checkout day so we left at 5am because we couldn't wash dishes, flush toilet or take a shower. I messaged them their response took so long we just left. Hoping I will not be penalized for it. Taki bar doesn't open if it rains. It rained for like 20mins in a entire day. Overall it was great only two things. We would recommend

Westwinds 4704

Loved the stay and will be back! The location was ideal on first floor and Owners have paid attention to almost every detail in terms of decor and beach items! We did have problems with the washing machine working (didn't go through drain or spin cycle) but we contacted guest services for assistance. Owners also might want to consider plastic plates and cups vs. glass. With kids and slippery fingers, we had a bowl drop and shatter. We did report to management, and then promptly purchased all disposable plates and cups from there on! Minor incidents though and certainly not negative factors in our stay! Condo and amenities surpassed our expectations!

Great location, updates needed

We loved the location of this property. Both the building and the first floor unit were very convenient. The first two days the pool was amazing. It was a little cool outside, but the water was warm enough to swim and enjoy the pool. On the third day the heater broke and while they said they were getting it fixed, it was not resolved during our stay. I loved being on the first floor, it was especially great for navigating things with the kids. The unit overall needed some TLC. When we walked in the smell of air freshener was so strong we had to air out the place for several hours. I felt like it was hard to breathe and wondered if they were trying to cover up a musty smell, which did come through a couple of days in. The bed spreads and bath mats were very dingy. It made me question if or how often they had been laundered. The sofa covers were much the same way. Other than hard surfaces, things just didn't feel super clean. The kitchen was fully stocked with all the extras one could need and there were lots of beach and pool toys to enjoy. The washer and dryer worked well for us along with all other appliances. We had a great time. It was fun to visit Baytowne Wharf. Just wanted to feel like I was laying in a clean bed, sitting on a clean couch, and stepping out onto a clean bath mat after the shower.
