We love this home because we can go straight from the property to 25 miles of trails in the Roosevelt National Forest. The trails are great for hiking, snowshoeing, and cross country skiing!
Plus it's close and convenient to Lady Moon, Mount Margaret, Lone Pine and many more trail heads also!
The views of wildlife from the home are absolutely breathtaking and we never tire of looking out and seeing the moose & deer visiting and grazing on the grass (and the aspen buds in the spring!).
In the summer, the aspen grove that Black Bear Hollow is nestled in just explodes! The aspens leaf out and columbines & other wildflowers are abundant all around the home--it is incredible!
In the fall, the gorgeous aspens turn a beautiful gold and watching the leaves fall from the deck is one of our favorite things to do--very relaxing after a day of hiking or horseback riding.
In the winter, the snow on the pine trees with the sun glistening on the branches are magical....mother nature's Christmas lights. We love snowshoeing on the trails in the winter, and coming back to the cabin to warm up with hot cocoa & the awesome fireplace!
Overall the peace & quiet of this location, the wildlife, and proximity to the trails are the huge draws of this property. We love being in the mountains--where our neighbors are mostly deer, moose, elk, black bears, marmots, eagles, hummingbirds, grouse, wild turkeys and so much more.
Getting to reconnect with nature & getting away from concrete, stress of cities, traffic, noise, neon signs & crowds. We love BBH for decompressing & reconnecting with nature, trees, wildflowers, & the abundance of lakes, rivers & mountains to explore in Northern Colorado with Black Bear Hollow as base camp is simply perfect!
