Dirty, roaches, and air problems

We came to this house to find roaches in the beds, dried pee on toilet seats, hair on pillow cases, air not working on one side, a trash can catching a leak from the air conditioning vent, no batteries in remotes, trash under beds, and blood stains on sheets. The property owner was “nice” enough to refund us ONE night even though we had maintenance on property all day trying to fix the air. They brought us new sheets, but still doesn’t make up for all the inconveniences during this stay. It’s a great location, lots of room, but the cleanliness was a 0/10. Needs a lot of TLC.

July stay

Overall the house was a great place for our family for our get together. Location to beach was excellent and the pool was great. It was a good beach house to stay in. Mainly just needs some TLC to revitalize some of the mattresses and interior. Garbage was supposed to come Tuesday and Friday - it only came on Tuesday so we had overflowing garbage cans when arriving until Tuesday and it was not picked up our last Friday there although we had it out and ready Thursday evening (sorry to those arriving after us). Communicating with the property manager was good.

Great Family vacation

Our family enjoyed our stay in the house. We had a large group and the house was perfect for us. It was clean and the kitchen was well equipped with everything we need to have our family dinner each night. Every one enjoyed the pool and the easy access to the beach. We enjoyed sitting on the front deck and watching the waves come in. Some of our group went fishing on the bridge and also in the bay and for both we had easy access. We would will definitely stay here again.

Would not recommend

Loved the layout, many places to gather our 17 ladies. But the 'cleaning' service is ripping you off. There was hair in the shower, moldy shower curtains, food and dirt visibly at edge of furniture in some rooms. Had to clean the food mess out of microwave to use. Took a coffee maker out of cabinet and it still had filter and used grounds from previous tenants. We were not given enough sheets, wash cloths and towels for everyone. Had to call for. When we went to wash what we had we found the dirty wash cloths and towels in the washing machine unwashed. A friend came by Sun night and when he walked into the kitchen on the lower right he said "you have a gas leak in here" and turned off the gas. The sofa sleepers were a joke. The girls compared them to army cots. But the most agregious was a non working shower in the HANDICAPPED bedroom and a non working elevator which we needed for our handicapped guest. Maintenance came out and worked on it for an hour but never got it to work. Said it had always been a pain but the owner did not want to put more money into the house. This house needs maintenance and cleaning. Would not stay here again

Very nice

When we checked I we had to have the cleaning service come back and the house wasn’t completely cleaned. The upstairs kitchen was filthy and all the old sheets were left in the downstairs bedroom closet in a big ball.

Great Stay on St. George Island

Sixteen family members stayed at All Hooked Up on St. George Island. The house provided plenty of room and amenities for all of us. We enjoyed the island, the beach, and the pool at the house. The kids and adults spent many hours on the beach and in the house playing games. After Labor Day is our typical time to vacation as crowds are smaller, and in this case nearly non-existent. The whole family concurs that this was a great vacation.

Family Labor Day

I have stayed at this property with my family and with our Ladies church group. We enjoy this property both trips. Maintenance always responds promptly and managers as well. Already planning to stay again.

Excellent Family Reunion House

We had 15 people staying from ages 1 to 88. The elevator was needed by some and enjoyed by others. The house had many separate areas which was perfect to meet the needs of those who had different sleeping schedules, places outside to hangout when it rained, an awesome setting at the highest point for sunset pictures, many places to play games and for kids to run around. The beach was easy for us all to go back and forth all day for long or short stays. We cooked many meals for 15 in the main kitchen and the other two kitchens were great for storage in the extra refrigerators and for cooking small meals. The pool and pool area was large enough for all to gather and enjoy. The furnishings and kitchen utensils are not fancy but adequate for a beach stay. The management is very prompt to fix any issues we had (like they came and cleaned the pool that had debris from a storm that occurred before we checked in, they were prompt to bring sheets when one set was missing). They also were very gracious to overnight a wallet that was accidentally left and not realized until we were hours away from the property. We also rented a golf cart from their recommendation and got a discount. Having a golf cart was really fun! It is hard to find a property to meet all the satisfies all the requirements we had with so many different personalities and physical needs for our big family. This property exceeded our expectations. Thanks Jerry!

Roomy and comfortable

This large home was perfect for our group size. Everyone had private space and the living areas were large enough to accomodate everyone. This older home could use some minor updating and maintenanc, but it was very comfortable and clean. Overall is was a great stay, we made good use of the large pool, screened patios, and grill. Nice views from upper decks. We will be staying again!

Amazing for large multi-family gathering

Our family (8 adults, 8 teens) enjoys celebrating Christmas at All Hooked up. Despite the unseasonable freezing temps, the home was warm and cozy, the water heated up immediately, and there was more than ample space to spread out when being “stuck inside” got overwhelming with such a large group. Kitchen(s) - we really only used the upstairs kitchen, but having 2 downstairs kitchens was great for additional refrigerators space and morning coffees. For those who cook: it was well stocked with pots, pans, cookie sheets, a food processor, spatulas, knives, etc. There were no condiments or seasonings, which we anticipated - so pack your own for those. Wonderful gas stove/oven and ample seating for a large family. The kids loved hanging out downstairs while the adults talked upstairs. Despite having smart TVs in every living room and bedroom, we didn’t actually use them. The beds / rooms easily held the 4 sets of adult couples, and the kids improvised on their sleeping arrangements in the other rooms and couches. All were comfortable and desired levels of privacy were easily accommodated. Full bathrooms in and/or adjacent to each bedroom made it so no one ever had to wait for the bathroom. We would have loved to make use of the mid deck and roof top deck overlooking the water, but the freezing temperatures made the view more enjoyable from inside the huge windows. Upon checkout, we learned that the house will be undergoing extensive renovations and remodels - we look forward to a return trip to enjoy the enhancements!

Cancelled and refunded

We drove 14 hours and waited 4 hours for a 4pm check-in as we were told we could not be granted early check in due to same day turn around. Upon arrival at property, the landscape was not how it appears in pictures, It was weedy, dying and unmaintained. The down stairs screen doors were broken and hanging open. The pool was full of leaves. The house looked abandoned, not a good first impression. When we entered the lower left unit, the smell of mold was over whelming. Upon inspection of the unit, we found bathrooms unclean, urine on base of toilets, dirty mirrors, dirty sinks, mold on ceilings, mold on bed clothes, moldy rippled carpets, sand on floors, dusty furniture and all closet doors off of hinges. There were not enough dishes to accommodate for 4 guest in unit, let alone the 6 which it advertised to accommodate. The upstairs unit was in similarly poor condition, with dust so thick above windows you could see it from across the room. There were missing chairs in the living room, so you could not seat two at game tables. The walls and furniture were filthy. There was food and sand on the floor. The kitchen appliances were dirty , with hand prints and who know what else. The shade and trundle in the small room were broken. The shades in the master bedroom were torn and stained. Every bathroom in the house had been used, and showed fecal and urine remnants. The decks were old and unsafe. The widows walk had broken furniture. There were missing smoke detectors in most rooms. Then we learned that the pool pump was broken and that the house had been empty for weeks. Although Jerry acted and got people out quickly, there were too many issues. It was not my job to spend one minute of my family vacation directing his team on what should have been taken care of and managed long before our arrival. I would not have my family stay in the unsafe and unclean conditions of this house. Kailey was very kind and helpful in directing us toward alternative housing for our stay. She was also swift in getting us our refund. It turned out to be a perfect vacation but the first evening was lost to a preventable disaster.

Awesome Experience

Our group of church ladies came for a beach retreat. This is our second year using this site. We came home today & I have already reserved the place for next year. It is very roomy and has a large common area that we all gathered in but separated enough to have privacy. This house would be great for any large group with plenty of bedrooms & bathrooms. We enjoyed the private pool & the walk across the road to the beach. We can't wait for next year!

At George Island Fl getaway

Great house for large family

This house is perfect especially if you have three families staying together. All three have separate living areas and then you can all have dinner in the large dining room. Beach is right across the street. We hope to make this a yearly event.

Wanted to give a 4 or 5

The size, layout and the location are the best. But several examples make it impossible to rate higher than a 3 overall. Checkin process was delayed by several hours. Cleaning crew said past guests left a terrible mess & the grill and fencing behind were damaged by a fire and unusable. Totally understand that those things are not the host fault. However, we received no reply back from the host about these issues & a question about paying to heat the Pool. We wanted to pay to do in advance. No response & a cold pool. 3 kitchens spaces but only enough utensils/cookware for 1. Lots of lightbulbs burned out and other regular maintenance things that could be done to improve guest experience.

Less than impressed

We booked this property for our annual family get together. To begin with, it listed the pool as having a heater….which it did not. The overall condition of the property, and the amenities supplied was very disappointing. One of the master bedrooms had a consistently wet carpet for the entire time that we were there. Several of the shower curtains in the bathrooms were mildewed and looked to have mold on the bottom of them where they had lay in standing water. The number of towels available for the party was less than sufficient as we barely had 8 bath sized towels for our party of 15 people. There were spots on the ceiling which may have been mold and several of the HVAC intake vents in the ceiling showed an extreme amount of dirt accumulated near them. And let’s not forget the old, dirty shoe that was left behind under one of the living room tables. Several of the chairs and couch cushions were stained and just smelled dirty. Finally, one of the upstairs patio doors did not unlock ( more of an inconvenience than anything). I wish that I could say something positive about the property, but unfortunately there were too many negatives. We understand that it’s a gamble and you may have a couple of things that the cleaners or property manager overlook when you rent a home, but in the case of this property I can’t believe that these things haven’t been noticed previously. For the price paid I’d have to say that our value fell far short. BTW…..We did email the owner out of concerns raised by some previous comments and was assured that the previous negative replies were the result of a rowdy college group that had been asked to leave and left negative reviews. I can assure you that this is not the case.

Experience

Thank you for the holiday booking. I would like to request a refund of the cleaning fee due to the following reasons. The house could really use a "deep cleaning" and inspection of the property. We found several infractions that help support our request and they are as followed: -Several light bulbs out / lights not working - Ceiling fans not working (very hot environment had to use AC) -Sand in the bed upstairs - Downstairs bed full of hair and sheets stained with a red substance that appears to be blood -Dead Cockraches EVERYWHERE! -Molded shower curtain -Dirt dripping on walls in bathroom around door knobs and light switches - Kitchen was overall sticky and greasy -Dishes/pots and pans in cabinets were dirty with old food -Floors have visible sand everywhere -Very little available lien I understand that this is vacation property on the beach but the clean service is substandard. Pictures are attached to support our claim. Our family would love to utilize this property in the future should these deficiencies could be corrected.

Location and space

We had a large family group of 16 with ages 4-70 stay at the house over Thanksgiving. The location and size of the house is amazing and exactly what we were looking for. I was concerned before coming because I had read recent reviews that were not conplimentary. We had several things break or weren’t working when we arrived…a bedroom fan, 2 towel bars, and a garbage disposal. The fan and disposal were resolved within a day…no big deal on the towel bars. The house could definitely use some patching and painting and some overall tlc. However, that did not keep us from enjoying the house and our vacation. The beds were extremely comfortable and the kitchen has plenty of cookware. The elevator was great for the older family members in our group and bringing luggage upstairs. It was so easy to go over to the beach and enjoy as much or little time as you would like. For anyone coming, I would recommend bringing TP, dish towels, shampoo/conditioner hand soap, etc as very little is provided. One of my disappointments was that there is a pool heater advertised for a fee both in the house info and in the property info onsite. When I called and asked a few weeks before coming about the heater, I was told that the owner had decided not to replace it bc not many people wanted it. That needs to be taken off VRBO so it isnt miss information. Overall, great location and size of house, and we loved exploring the island and surrounding areas.

Not quite what we expected

Location was great. The house needs a lot of work / repairs. Downstairs master toilet was not working and the room appeared to have a water leak in the bedroom ceiling. A lot of the exterior doors didn’t open and close / lock properly. The house had a mouse in it, which we couldn’t catch. The property manager was available and helpful when needed. We thought the pool was heated but it wasn’t. Easy access to the beach.

Have a guest who likes to sleep in or has a little one? Use the 3 separate living areas to accommodate all your needs! Outdoor shower, outdoor fish cleaning station, storage for floats, kayaks, under the house carport for grilling out of the sun or rain. One of the only houses of it's kind on the entire island! The separate living areas allow you to have privacy while maintaining close contact with family or friends on the same property.
